Love y'all! (^ᴥ^)
I’m in 8th grade and I’ve been wanting to be a vet since I could remember.
Tajanea Perry I’m in sixth grade and I’ve wanted to be a vet since 1st grade which is the 1st time I’ve ever went to a vet clinic
Lol, same :)
T P SAMEEE IVE BEEN WANTING TO BE A VET SINCE 3rd GRADE...I’m in 9 grade now
Omg same
I was the same since I was in Kindergarten, I just graduated highschool and still doing veterinary school after undergrad.
Thanks for including the bit about when your in high school and starting college
Don’t forget that some colleges have 7 year BS/DVM programs. 👍
Yea.... high school.... * looks at high school diploma from 5 years ago *
Hi! I’m a (high school) freshman and I just wanted to say that I found this video very helpful (Even if I have a looong way to go before college)!
Still planning on being a vet?
the vet clinics near me don't allow high schoolers to volunteer :(
I’m a senior in high school and all the schools I applied to have a farm and an animal science program. I just think I’d do best working with animals because it motivates me to work hard and I can see my work paying off!
Hard work pays off!
cassie joosten what schools?
What schools?
Thank you so much for answering my question from the last video!! This is incredibly helpful.
thanks so much!! I'm a junior in high school now and it's been so stressful looking at colleges, but this makes my life so much easier :^)
Thank you, thank you, thank you so much! I'm so stressed over applying to college & now I have an idea of what I need to do.
Ima literally follow everything you do because I also live in South Carolina
as a current freshman in college interested in vet med, i cannot thank you enough for this video!! you’ve affirmed pretty much everything i’ve done when choosing my university haha. but i don’t think high school vet med experience is negligible. as someone who’s worked at an animal hospital for the past few years, even if it doesn’t necessarily “count,” it’s given me a much deeper and holistic insight into the profession. i highly recommend trying to shadow or work for a veterinarian as soon as possible!
Awesome video! Your videos are always like a breath of fresh air, they are seriously amazing ! I have just gotten into some colleges that I applied to (bio major 🤘🏻). Anyway I just wanted to thank you again for making these videos, I don't always comment :'D but I seriously do enjoy every single video.
Thanks Kris! I appreciate you for watching them 🙏🏻
thanks this video helps alot and i love your videos❤❤💯
This man is cool , this really helped
This was 100% helpful thank you
So in highschool to get hours in. Would I need to volunteer at a Shelter/Vet. How would I track it down though and put it on my papers/resame
Lina Softstone I know this is kind of a late reply, but I’m in high school now, middle of junior year. I volunteered 100 hours for a local vet clinic this past summer and they offered me a job because I did so well at age 16. All I did was write down in an important notebook how many hours I worked per day, which days I worked, when I started and ended my volunteership, as well as the vet clinic’s name and contact info. Hope that helps!
Hey thanks for making this video, very helpful. I am almost done with taking all my pre reqs for vet school and about to apply but I keep hearing that vet school is very expensive and yes it def is. But I wanna be pretty stable financially at least in my 20's. I think about vet school now and I think I am gonna have to work my ass off (after I graduate from vet school) to pay off that vet school loan. I am just worried if being a veterinarian will work out financially for me or not. Of course I am not going in for money but if the loans are that huge I need to see if it's even gonna be doable or not.
My dream school is Ohio State. I live in Ohio and OSU is only 2 hours away.
New vid new question! How many of you (like me) live in a state that doesn't have a vet school?
Andrew Woods thanks for the video I actually do live in a state with a vet school CSU in Colorado
Andrew Woods i dont, but I don't want to go to LSU, I want to got to Texas A&M. You make great videos by the way.
Nope I live in the UK 😆 there still isn’t a vet school near where I live. Love your videos btw
I just have the one vet school(Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts).....
OMG MEEEE
Definitely planning to go to either Clement university or Cornell university but I’m leaning towards Clement cause it’s closer, cheaper, and easier to get in to but if for some reason I don’t get it then I’ll probably go to Cornell university and if I don’t get into that then I’m not going to college...
I'm in 7th grade and ever since I was 2 I wanted to be a vet!!
10/10 outro
I’m going to have to go to tufts university if I want to be a veterinarian
The only experience I can get as a high school student is walking dogs none of the shelters or vets will allow me to look/help😖, BTW thank you so much for this video!!
Does it matter if some or most of the prerequisites are taken at a community college or do they need to be transferable to the 4 year college i plan to attend.
i've been wanting to be a vet since forever. i'm sophmore year in high school and i've been volunteering at a vet clinic for 2 years now
How did u start volunteering in a vet clinic? What were some of the requirements
There is a university called Ross University but it is not in the US. Do you think it will make getting a job as a veterinarian more difficult if a degree is from a different country?
Lol he knew highschooler watch this dang.
Still the universiti file is only based on the country usa only not like internationally well makes sense TwT
im a junior in highschool right now and finding a vet school that is close by, good quality, and cheap is so difficult. im also still debating if i want to do veterinary because i absolutely LOVE animals but i also get too attached to them. is it a possibility that i will be desensitized (to the difficult situations like death) during vet school?
8Th GRADER RIGHT HERE
This year I am completing my high school.. I have physics chemistry bio and maths.. I live in India and want to take up veterinary.. What is the next step I take? Please help
Question do you need algebra and pre calc knowledge?
I'm in 7th grade
I just want to become a veterinary technologist.
Do we have dorms in a vet school???
Great video! I am from the UK and I know the system in the UK is very different to the US (we have GCSE’s and A-levels) but I still found this very interesting. Just out of interest, do you know what is needed to get into vet school in the UK?
orangeinegamer Thanks so much! That’s really helpful. I’m still only in secondary school and haven’t even taken my GCSEs yet so I have a little way to go but I think it’s important to plan ahead and what you said is a great help! Thank you so much!
orangeinegamer Thanks a lot :) I am planning to do a work experience course for a week at a zoo near where I live and I think that will be quite useful, I am also looking into doing some lambing in the spring. Do you think those will be useful?
orangeinegamer Okay thanks! :)
Thank you so much for being so helpful, but one more thing. I have relatively high target grades in most subjects (nothing below A/7) and I was wondering if you have any tips for revision as I am still trying to figure out what works best for me. :) I really appreciate all of the help!
orangeinegamer Woah those are amazing grades! Congratulations! I can only hope for grades as good as those and thank you so much for all that advice, I am sure it will really help me in the future! :) you’re so kind!!!
I’m applying to the UGA VetCAMP this summer and I was wondering if you/ other vet students would be involved
I won't be (ill be in clinics) but there will definitely be some other vet students there!
Okay thank you! I hope I will be accepted!
does some animal hospitals provide the college or do you have to pay out of your own pocket?
YALL STRESSING ABOUT SCHOOL GRADES, IM HERE STRESSING ABOUT MY GPA IN COLLEGE AND I JUST GRADUATED FROM 7TH GRADE
Im in 8th
Can you be an athlete (3+ hours of training) and still be a vet?
I'm grade 10 student in sri Lanka.i want learn about vet.but I have time to that.however I'll go to America to learn about that in after my advanced level.please tell me a easy way to learn vet.😇😇😇
what if i am an immigrant from India?
Hey Andrew I am a third year Veterinary Student from India. I want go to a US University for higher studies in Veterinary Science. Can you tell me the procedure of admission and other requirements for international students opting to study in Veterinary school of US?
You just have to go to the website university of preference and check the checklist for international students.
how are you going to be a vet if you didn’t get your bachelors degree?
You dont need one..he said he got in with the prerequisites
10th grader right here👌💕
I’m nine and planning my future
Same I'm 11
I live in Puerto Rico and we don't have a vet school :(
The University of Puerto Rico has a program. Also, you can complete your undergraduate years in Puerto Rico and apply to Ross University at St. Kits which is accredited.
Agree^ and You can always try and get a visa to further your education in the USA or somewhere where there's more choices for you.
Thank god the Australian government loans us our course fees, and we pay it off with our tax we earn after we graduate, or hell would i be able to afford it!!
Vet as a junior? What does he mean?
He got into vet school as a junior in college
Is vet school the same thing as college?
Nope! College is the same thing as undergrad, a 4 year program before you can go to vet school.
Soo you have to go to a college for 4 years.. then a vet school for 4 more years ?!
You technically dont have to go to college for all 4 years. As he mentioned in the video you just need the prerequisites which he did and got in after his 3 years of college
I would honestly find it ridiculous if they don't allow pets
