Can you do a throttle only test to see if it will take you up the mountain on throttle only? OR test a number of hills to see how steep a grade it pull on throttle only. Love your channel!
Hello! Thank you 😊. I can see what I can find hill wise to test throttle only.
New subscriber and loving the Lectric One videos. Keep 'em coming, please!
Thank you! I’ll definitely be making more content on the ONE :). It’s too fun not to haha.
Another great review. My e bike here in the uk is 48 volt and 24ah. The estimated range is 100 miles on a full charge. Obvisously here in the uk we cant have throttles or anything bigger than 250 watts. People do though. Its a case of riding responsibly and not making yourself visible to the police to get stopped. Heres to your next video.
Thank you! Yah at 250 watts and 24Ah you’re going to have excellent range. Definitely agree on the responsible riding. As long as you’re doing things right you’ll usually be fine. It’s the crazies that zip in and out of traffic and blow through red lights that usually run into problems haha.
I’m still considering this bike but after riding a Gazelle and especially Stromer ST3, I’m also considering the higher level Stromer ST5. A lot more expensive but they also have greater range. I’ll be traveling 90 plus miles often, so bigger tires-not fat ones-might favor me than the smaller ones like the One has. Difficult choice.
90 miles is a heck of a trip haha. I hope you have pleasant weather. I did a 49 mile range test at the beginning of the summer and I was begging the bike to hurry up and run out of power haha.
The Stromer ST5 looks sick. I’d be afraid to lock it up anywhere haha.
Great real world range test
Thank you!
One thing I don't get on this bike is that they put the best transmission but they put cadence sensor. Y? Makes more sense to put torque sensor I guess.
I would have agreed with you before i saw the electric pres. video. the owner of the company made a huge case for opposite being a better choice that more people would actually enjoy getting up to speed faster. He changed my opinion of torque sensors. I haven't ridden the eone yet but he made me a believer in his enthusiasm for cadence sensors and software on this bike to be superior choice than previous cadence sensor systems.
@@far77fae I hope your right. I have an ebike with a cadence sensor and I don't get it . Poor low speed control. No effort needed to go fast. Not intuitive.
From what I've read, most cadence sensors use 12 magnets. The Lectric One uses 96 and that is supposed to make a huge difference and is very responsive.
A lot of older riders can't use a torqe sensor! The candence sensor is a must!
The owner made a video for what they installed to be better . Well of course . No one is going to make a product then turn around and say something else would have been better 😂
Hey Tom -- have you tweaked any of the default settings, besides enabling class 3?
Hey! Not yet. I may play around with PAS sensitivity a bit to see how the modes differ. How about you?
@@tomsgadgetgarage I set P22 to 1, but that's about it. Most of the setting defaults are great as is.
Nice. I may try level 1 on 22 as well.
I agree, seems less than ideal to have the throttle and cruise control on the same side. Do you think it might work to switch the position on the handlebar of the control pad and throttle? The throw of the throttle might make it reachable under the pad (I'm waiting on an Xpress where they're on opposite sides of the handlebar). Great stuff though, interested what you have planned next!
That may help. I’ll take a closer look. It’s a non issue when pedaling the bike. Only becomes problematic when you’re solely using throttle, which I know some people do. This bike has ruined me though. Now when I look at chains and derailleurs I just don’t get as excited anymore haha.
@@tomsgadgetgarage Ha I imagine the carbon belt and pinion shift are amazing. I have an Xpress that should (SHOULD) be delivered tomorrow, so I'll have to wait until advanced transmissions filter down to mortal machines. At least the Lectric lines that are full sized, I'm a bit tall for their shorter folding-style bikes, and I'm coming from an early folding e-bike that was tiny so I wanted a full-sized bike this time around. Have fun on the One though, really enjoying the content
Tom one question: if there is only ONE Electric Scooter/Bike you can choose, which would it be? Regarding your reviews. Thanks.
As of right now, if I could only have one, I’d choose the Apollo GO for a scooter and the Lectric ONE for a bike. I choose the GO because it’s got a smaller form factor, lots of power for its size, and excellent lighting and water resistance.
I choose the Lectric ONE because it’s the best e-bike I’ve ever ridden. The electronic automatic shifting and belt drive are a game changer.
I just got my electric one e-bike, and I've noticed that the throttle lever always provides 100% power. There's no way to squeeze the lever 50% to add 50% power. Are you noticing the same thing on your Lectric one bike?
Hey! I’m in the middle of putting together my long term review on the One so I’ll test it out this afternoon and let you know.
I can confirm it’s not progressive. It’s all or nothing, which explains why setting cruise control is a pain, especially with one hand. I rode a few other bikes this afternoon and all of those had progressive throttles.
@tomsgadgetgarage This is a good find. Since the throttle lever is a proportional lever, we have to assume that the software is designed to not allow proportional adjustment. I have also noticed, when peddling, that when the cadence triggers the motor, it always triggers the motor at the full current, so the PAS is also not a "proportional assist". The developers may have been experiencing problems with resonance, or drive circuitry issues, at specific power settings.
Is it possible to buy a second battery to take with you so that you get double the distance? If the batteries are like $200, seems like you could get the 200$ cheaper bike and get an extra battery and end up with more distance than getting the long distance battery which gives you maybe an additional 20 miles. But maybe I have no idea what I’m talking about lol…please correct me here! Love the channel!
Thank you! That’s definitely a possibility. You’d just have to carry the extra battery and charge two. There’s a $200 difference between short range and long range version and an extra battery looks like it would be around $299. So for $99 more than the long range edition you’d essentially be getting about 43% more battery. Not bad haha.
Did you confuse the standard range with the long range throttle only? My 3.0 long range gets 30 miles of range on throttle only, but the standard range battery only gets 20 miles of range. I thought the Lectric ONE only came in long range, no?
Edit: I just looked up the manual on the ONE and it seems like throttle only does get 20 miles of range, what gives? Why is there such a difference between the range of the 3.0 and the ONE if they use the same long range battery? Is it because of the difference in motor performance(500 watt vs 750)?
I think it could be the 750W motor. Lectric did sell the ONE in a short and long range option but now I only see the long range version on their site. Either way I think the 20 mile figure isn’t accurate. I weigh 24 lbs more than the rider they use in their benchmark tests and still got 32 miles.
@@tomsgadgetgarage Gotcha. Interesting, thanks for the feedback. Lectric doesn't seem to include a "range test guide" on the Lectric ONE page, they do have it for the 3.0 if you scroll down. I am not sure why they wouldn't have a full menu to show off the range for all the PAS levels and throttle for both long range and short range for their ONE bike, weird...
Yah I believe they originally had it on the site when they announced the bike but then it disappeared. No need to hide it though, it gets pretty solid range.
Yeah, I don't like the thumb throttle
The 3.0 uses an internal flat battery inside the frame and the One uses an external battery. They are not the same battery even if they have the same capacity.
