Looks/sounds like an absolute winner! But, I know my wife would be much happier if I purchased the XP 3.0 Long Range, as I could pick up a pair for the same price as 1 One. However, all the new tech in the One is incredible and very impressive. It'd be my 1st choice in my next e-bike for sure! Well done, Lectric! You guys keep giving your customers more value in your bikes!
Good first take on the bike. Looking forward to your complete test. I think that any bike with a Pinion gearbox for $2k is a real bargain. The question will be if enough Lectric buyers care enough about pedaling to want an automatic transmission on a hub motor bike. I don't really use the shifter on my hub motor bikes. It is always easier to just throttle from a stop before starting any pedaling. Their decision to offer this bike with a 10ah battery in order to meet a $2k price point seems like a bad choice to me, though. The 1300 watt peak output is an excessive load for such a small battery. The 14ah should be the smallest battery offered imo. At least Lectric seems to have learned something from the lackluster sales of the XPremium and given this bike more power and performance than an XP3.0. Lectric has once again been innovative and provided something different at an accessible price. I think this bike is a nice new option in the market. I hope it sells well for them.
Yes, agree with JJ. Way too much hype around new tech, which is always nice to have of course, but doesn't actually deliver me much benefit. I have a torquey hub motor and don't change gear much at all, even from a standstill - I either dab the throttle or pedal a bit harder. Derailieur and chain work fine for me - cheap, light, efficient and reliable. I would rather have a suspension seat-post and forks, plus a decent battery.
Not shifting and using the manual the throttle from start (especially in high gear), is hard on your hub motor, stretches your chain, sprockets, and also impacts battery life. Lots of youtubes on this subject to explain that. For people too lazy to shift thru gears, automatics are a far better choice so you dont wear out your equipment prematurely.
@@srobeck77 Those issues affect mid-motors, not hub-drives. While a mid-motor and an automatic hub like the Enviolo are certainly attractive options, they are mechanically complex and stuffed full of extra electronics so they add very substantial extra purchase cost, plus transmission maintenance charges and, potentially, reliability issues too. A torquey hub-motor with derailleur and throttle is actually a very hard set-up to beat for the majority of users - cheap, simple, reliable and easy to ride. Mid-drives win on heavy hill-climbing, there's little doubt about that, but they lose on just about every other metric.

You have never ridden a mid drive have you. I weigh 250 and have never broken a chain on my mid drive and normally ride on PAS 3 in 4th gear. Shifting is occasional at best
It's definitely an amazing bike and all but like I said at other comment section, at that price point I don't see the average raider going for the One over their already awesome XP 3.0 I personally if I was going to get a premium ebike I'll get me an Aventon Aventure 2 for a few hundreds $ less than the One. In conclusion and in my opinion the XP 3.0 it's still the best ebike out there at a price that's within almost every budget.

But definitely a little disappointed, like the other comments, by the small battery sizes. Not getting much commuting if you're getting less than 15 miles in PAS 4 and less than 10 in PAS 5.
Outside of the pinion gearbox, the rest of the components are junk tbh. They don't mention the brake brand, battery cell brand, motor brand, etc. They're using Chaoyang tires and non-smoothed welds on a $2k ebike...
@srobeck77 60 miles for long range, 45 for the smaller capacity battery. And those ranges are for pedal assist 1. It is also claimed. Owners had been reporting lower than claimed range on existing models. Which is why people are questioning the range on this one.

Yeah, I gotta wonder if they wouldn't have been better off with an upgraded rework of the XPremium. If they gave the mid drive around 1200 peak watts, a belt drive, and an internally geared rear hub, I think it could have been a success. I'm just not convinced that enough people care about putting a thousand dollar gearset on a hub motor bike to make this new Lectric One successful.
@@jimjr9143 the xpremium was an under powered 500w mid drive, that could barely compete with the xp3. They should have made the x premium more powerful. It looked underwhelming in every video i saw
Our XPremiums are great, no complaints whatsoever. They go all day on a charge with plenty left. They go plenty fast and will outclimb any hub drive if you want it to and you know how to use your gears
I really hope there is an update of this power train and drive train systems into an updated XPedition. Do that and add a front suspension fork + turn signals and I would buy it the day it got announced! It would raise the price for sure but it would definitely be worth it in my mind.

Lectric and those forever low watt hours no matter what. This is like having a Porsche Cayenne but with a 5 gallon gas tank imo. I'll buy 1 probably, but with a spare battery, but then why not just get a Wallke H9 or something better?
A couple of things to consider: low Wh will depend on the efficiency of the system. Some of our longest ever range tests came from medium sized batteries on more efficient setups. And they also have battery upgrade options too. We'll have to get it range tested to see if the 499Wh is enough or if you should expect to upgrade to the larger battery!
That tiny battery pack is definitely not enough . There is a large range of e-bikes at the $2000 price range that out does this new e-bike in every way but the fancy gear box . What good does a fancy gearbox do if you cannot even make it through one e-bike group ride . I need pedal assist 5 when i ride and the listed range is 9 miles . I average under every listed range on e-bikes listed range so possibly 7 miles ? Just no 😂 .. don’t even get me started on the no suspension.
the only Porche part on this entire build is the Pinion gearbox. That is literally it. That's only the shifting. It's more accurately like putting a Porche drivetrain in a Hyundai.

"One of Pinion's representatives at the announcement said that the cheapest bike with the Pinion in the U.S. goes for around $13,000." Actually, in the video, the Pinion rep is referring to their Smartshift Pinion gearbox. Priority Bikes of New York, whose entire line is of chainless bikes (mostly pedal bikes, but they do have an electric bike) only utilizing the Gates Belt Drive on all their bikes, sells their Priority 600 for several years now which uses the Pinion 12-speed Drive for $2,400. Yes, it is a pedal bike, But I only wanted to mention that Pinion's fascinating and desirable shifting system is being used already in the U.S. in some bikes.
That's excellent! After testing Pinion systems on the Lectric ONE and the Stromer ST5, it's hard to go back to standard chains and cassettes. It would be great to see gearboxes more often.
Specialized Como 4.0 SL is 2000 and the como 3.0 IGH is on sale direct from Specialized dealers for 3250. I don't see a single reason not to go with Specialized at those prices over this junk. The SL is the sleekest and most comfortable ebike I've ridden, both have internal gear hubs, and the full size has a belt drive, suspension fork, and larger battery. I think I'm going to get both
If I get this bike, what will be reasons why I'd need to go to a bike shop to get it worked on? I am completely new to the bike world and I'd think I'd need to bring it to a bike shop to get tires patched up if it has a flat or if the tire isn't able to be saved then probably get new tires. What other reasons why I'd need to bring it to a bike shop? Would it be easy for a competent bike shop to replace the rear tires and put back everything together? It shouldn't cost an arm and a leg for all that right?
I would check beforehand, use to be hard no. Now shops are starting to work on them. Honestly just do it yourself. But it's a pain, not terribly difficult tho. I got 16 flats going 6k. This bike will prolly get less. But if I paid $60 a flat that's alot and it's a pain bringing it there sometimes.

48 volt 10.4ah battery No rear suspension 750 nominal motor 28mph top speed Gates carbon drive belt but does that make it a 2000 dollar bike? Does it make the bike fly or something? They can keep their belt drive id rather have a 52-60v 25-40ah battery ebike with better design and better quality parts that's goes much faster and has double the range for the same price. Sorry letric no buying into this one.
Pinion gear so far has really on been found on $5000+ bikes. That's why we're saying it's like it's a $5000 bike in that regard - this is kinda nuts Lectric could get the price down to $2000 for all the parts this has and for what they are typically going for on other bikes. Not a sponsored video. We genuinely just think this is pretty cool.
I think they are just trying to provide all the information they currently have. Getting to see the CEO's pitch presentation to the reviewers seems like a bonus.
You currently cannot get a Pinion C1 with the electronic shifting and a Gates CDC/CDX combo for under $3k just for those components at any bike shop in the US.
Sorry buddy, but there’s no electric bike with tiny wheels and tiny frame that’s worth $5,000. It’s pushing it with this amount nowadays since so many e-bikes are available. 😂
@ 3:39 "the cheapest bike with a Pinion system in the US goes for around $13,000". I wouldn't trust that Pinion Rep, as the Stromer ST2 Pinion model is $6,990, WAY less than $13K! (And, Stromer is not a cheap bike...love mine!)
I can't wait until America can get the pinion MGU... But sadly you(everyone) needs a completely different bike frame to use the stupid MGU....no swap in with the current gear boxes.... No climbing hills in test....and screw cadence sensors for assistance...but the majority of you will only use throttle anyways so what's the point of pedals or pinion...
Seems like an over complicated and finicky bike that will be prone to premature breakdowns without any additional speed performance for the additional double the price cost. I’ll take the Chevy corvette over a Porsche any day of the week. 🤨
You only throw "haymakers" when you're desperate and outclassed; when you don't have any other punches that are working. Why is the Lectric One build a haymaker? Why is Lectric so desperate, to where they have to come out throwing haymakers??
Pinion is an awesome gearbox, combined with Gates belt drive and that's a great combination. However, I don't understand placing Pinion and Gates on such a low-quality, unattractive 20" children's bike. It cheapens the names of these two excellent companies and reminds me of the bikes that you would see circus bears performing on. Those bikes were purposely used to add the "ridiculous/comedic factor" to the performance. To each their own.
It's still overpriced people are learning a lot about the e-bikes and the saturated market..... They've been throwing all kinds of ridiculous prices on these bikes...... People are now starting to learn that
Yes that's true but lectric actually has a extremely good price for what this is. It's great deal if you get it on sale and way better prices than 80 percent of other companies out there.
It’s not overpriced if you know anything about Pinion gearboxes on bikes. In fact it’s a steal. Can’t wait for them to put it on the larger wheel bikes.
Just because thats the balance in your checking account, doesnt make it a reality because you'd be incorrect for the components here at this price point.
@@ElectricBikeReport great, and thank you! Please include who should get this bike, okay for seniors, upright seating position? and plus and minus of having of the smaller tires.

What do you mean by max pack battery?
Lectric will be offering a 912 Wh battery - It wasn't available at launch but should be in the near future.
Hey guys, having any luck getting one of these to review?
It's mid-testing now :)
Does it fold? Who will fix this bike when it breaks?
it is not a folding frame, no.
@@ElectricBikeReport Thank you.
WOW the gearbox sounds great
Its one of those things we hope everybody gets to experience. It's seriously fun!
48 volt 10.4ah battery
No rear suspension
750 nominal motor
28mph top speed
Gates carbon drive belt but does that make it a 2000 dollar bike? Does it make the bike fly or something? They can keep their belt drive id rather have a 52-60v 25-40ah battery ebike with better design and better quality parts that's goes much faster and has double the range for the same price. Sorry letric no buying into this one.
Nothing about this bike sounds like $5000 quality like you say, is this a sponsored video?
Why are all these people such haters
Friggin hater bro
Priced too high. Aventon has comparable bikes for less money.
Performance-wise, sure, but none have electronic shifting. The Pinion is really a big step up.
Right? Right? Right? NOT!
Not surprise me 😢
You only throw "haymakers" when you're desperate and outclassed; when you don't have any other punches that are working. Why is the Lectric One build a haymaker? Why is Lectric so desperate, to where they have to come out throwing haymakers??
Yeah it’s not like their the third largest seller of electric vehicles in the United States or anything
It's cheap bc it will be like the xpeak, not good.
Nice bike, overpriced. Should be 1599 max
Just because thats the balance in your checking account, doesnt make it a reality because you'd be incorrect for the components here at this price point.
seems like a little bike
It is on the smaller side, but it's fun and fits tall people surprisingly well. Stay tuned for our full standard review soon.
@@ElectricBikeReport great, and thank you! Please include who should get this bike, okay for seniors, upright seating position? and plus and minus of having of the smaller tires.
Boring, overpriced and little to no demand for this type of bike in US. From the wobbly x peak to this overpriced mid drive, Lectric is really missing the mark.
This is a hub drive isn't it? The middle chunk is the transmission not the motor
Sweet hot take, but this isnt a mid drive motor lol
4 months and still no review. Seems like this video is a shill
We are testing it now and the review should be out in a couple weeks
@@ElectricBikeReport Thanks and looking forward to it. Been on the lookout for a cargo bike for a quick run to grocery store once in a while.
Erling Haaland is selling ebikes now?
Scoring goals, selling e-bikes, he's a many of many talents.
This is not better than folding midrive
