Every one of us has that one dream which we would love to make a reality, but still, we don't act on it. For me, that dream was to move to a foreign country after returning from my solo traveling trip in 2017. I waited for more than four years because I was too scared to take a leap of faith in myself and year after year it made me feel more miserable. After this long period of waiting, I finally decided to do it and moved to Cape Town in South Africa. In this video, I share my story and hopefully inspire some of you guys to stop waiting for your life to happen and take action instead.

@@Sontran0118 i didn’t really see him using clips multiple times troughout different videos though, that’s the thing. and even if, this is still a shit load of work to tune an edit to such a fine degree for every, single video. and his pace has been insane so far.
also, people who deliver such high quality stuff tend to release a new video maybe every one or two months and more often than not, it’s some travel video where it’s a lot easier to get good content/images from, while for explanatory videos such as this, it’s much harder to develop a story from. really, i think niklas is pretty unique in that regard and it shows!

I know that every single one of you out there has some desire going through your mind right now, but you don't act on it because you are too scared to fail, be rejected or get uncomfortable. It can be moving to another city, asking out that girl you met in the park, or quitting your job in order to start that interesting business idea. No matter what it is, trying is always better than waiting, if you wait, you will always stay right where you are, while if you try, you can either succeed or fail, learn from it and do it better the next time.

Can't describe how it hit me. I just moved from Taiwan to Madrid yesterday, I've never been here in Europe but I always know this is something I want to try.
it took me a year to get a remote job, and another year of waiting to finally make this happen.
Just want everyone who read this to understand, it's not impossible, it's not even that difficult to "implement" it in reality. But the hardest part is to find out that you honestly want, admit it, and try to apply small changes in your everyday life to make it happen.

OMG, Nicklas, when I saw Camps Bay in the beginning of the vid, I got goosebumps. This film moved me to the core, cause you were literally describing me. I’m from Cape Town, living in Germany, but am so homesick and feel just like you described before leaving. Was also going to go back when the pandemic hit and now that the winter’s starting here, moving back is on my mind a lot again.

Having taken the leap myself at the age of 20 to live abroad and then continue to challenge myself by moving to a new country 6 times has really opened up many doors given me a different perspective on life and I'm glad to see the changes happening for you as well. Absolutely amazing quality and I love the message! It's so cool to see how your channel continues to grow, and you fully deserve it. I've also felt exactly the same about the UK where I'm from, since travelling from a young age. I've tried to spend as little time as possible there through living and travelling abroad. The UK and Germany seem quite similar in terms of the definition of success for most people (big house, fancy car, job with status etc). It's so refreshing to see that this mindset doesn't exist so much in many other parts of the world.

this video and message deeply resonates with me. I’m also from Germany, but grew up in Ireland and the UK, and ever since moving back don’t really feel like I belong here. My Cape Town is moving to the US, I always loved it there, the people, the spirit, and I would love to study there one day. I finished school during the pandemic and started studying in the Netherlands after I got rejected from several US universities, and I feel like I’m procrastinating on living my life and exploring my different passions and interests. This is very first time I crossed with your channel and yiu have no idea how much it meant to me this video because it took me back to that exact moment I booked my flights to Canada after dreaming about it for aver 6 years. WHAT A GREAT VIDEO!! I kinda got emotional tbh... Ive been going through some hard times (bc of physical health, mental is okay) and slowly recovering from everything that happened to me. I am from Brazil, but I went to college in the US and that helped to spark my desire to travel the world working from anywhere around this globe. I am organizing my life right now and I cant wait to travel, meet new people, explore new cultures, and have great experiences again. Cape Town is def a place on my list... Well done pal. I too spent years struggling with this burning desire. It took me till the age of 33 to make this happen for myself and move to Bali. After just over 7 years living here, I can't believe I scared myself out of making this move for so long. It take courage (and an economic plan), but it teaches us to become the writers our our own stories. Wishing you all the success and happiness.

Hey man, I'm a new subscriber to your channel and you're crushing it. I know this video is from a handful of months ago, but this video brought up a lot for me and I appreciate you putting it out there. Me and my girlfriend just recently committed to deciding to move back to California where I grew up, after living in Washington for the past 12 years. It's scary and exciting all at the same time. I'm going to move back to the mountains and finally start a hiking/climbing/backpacking channel on youtube, so the intoxicating yet totally frightening journey has begun.

Yes it inspires me a lot! I came up with some questions that really keep me motivated and help me to keep moving towards my goal: "Who do I wanna be in life? What kind of life do I wanna be? How do I become that person? How do I get that life? What (small) thing can I do today to take me in that direction?" Thinking deeply about these questions have brought me massive success on all levels of life.

Man this video is a soooo relatable. I'm currently 18 years old, living in Germany and wanting to be a filmmaker in the future. Also, just like you, I feel weird in Germany. I also take my notes in English, watch English movies and even think in English most of the time. I relate to the feeling of not belonging in this place and I relate to the urge of just leaving it all behind and seeing the world. Unfortunaly I'm still in school so I can't just pack my bags, book a flight and leave but your video really inspired me to do it as soon as I'm done with school. Also I just wanted to add, that your filmmaking skills are really impressive and such an inspiration for someone like me, who's just getting into filmmaking. So thanks man. There are 100 steps to achieving that desire you have, but right now you're focusing on steps 2-100. But here's the thing, you can't know the answer to 99 questions and so you're overwhelmed and don't start. You can't figure out those answers until you first complete step 1, you've got to take a step, see where you are, then take the next step. You'll stop feeling overwhelmed and suddenly discover just how do-able most goals are.

Super Video was mich sehr inspiriert hat. Dein Englisch ist astrein :) Ich war auch lange unterwegs...unter Anderem in Australien, Thailand, Bali und Taiwan. Zurück in D gehe ich einem Vollzeitjob nach der mir zwar ermöglicht, von zu Hause aus zu arbeiten und recht flexibel ist, aber ich denke immer wieder, ob es das schon gewesen ist. Es ist lange her, als ich mich das letzte Mal so richtig lebendig gefühlt habe und ich zu 100% glücklich war. Danke für dein Video und bleib gesund.

My goal right now is to study abroad. I want to study in Scotland and possibly live there in the future, so this video inspired me to keep going. When I tell my family about my goals they bring me down sometimes. They do it because none of them have done it. They never work for their dreams, they just let it be a dream and nothing else. But now I want to work 10 times hard for what I want. So thank you and congratulations on moving!

Thanks Niklas. I'm had started working more on my goals a month ago. But what this video did for me was also changing my long term view. I deeply know what I would like to experiment with and try. But for these bigger changes like quiting your job I was always taking the safe way. I was like I can keep my job, and build something on the side. And it kinda works but it can make you quit your side hustle quickly, because it's too much. I think making the switch and just focusing on YOUR thing is my new way to go. ;)

I'm 17 and I study in Finnish High School. Now I don't know what I'll want to do in the future. In Finland almost all people around me want general jobs for example a doctor or something that belongs to economics. But you inspired me a lot to dream outside of the box. I think I want to work on social media and travel abroad like you some day.

There is no shame in choosing to be a doctor or any other "general job", most of the people find meaning in what they do. At the end, the people that have not only the mindset, but also no responsabilities holding them back can decide to pursuit their dreams. (Not all the cases)
I'm not trying to discourage you, just reminding you that this is social media. Even if society and the people around you make you think that, there is not really a rush to decide at 17 what you want for your life.
