Listening to this 7 days after the devasting earthquake in Turkey that has now claimed over 34 thousand lives and counting makes me appreciate every moment I am alive. I live in Istanbul and it's heartbreaking to see the country bleed. Life is precious. Life is fragile. Live every moment as if it is your last, because it might just be.
We have been conditioned that love is earned because of parenting. You have to do something to be loved. You have to be something to be loved. Illusion of separateness. We think we are separate. We too focused on ourselves. We cannot do it when we are in the brain than in the heart (feeling). Level of certainty. Humanity wants human of certainty, reason. Life is a mirror. You get what you put into it. You cannot drive looking at the rearview mirror. Live life every single drop. Live with passion. Live communicating. What matters is what we do with our story. Let go of our excuses. Use technology to bring our potential. Be grateful at life without checking your phone or email. Be present. Step forward. Live a legacy. Love. Thank you 💌
Imagine a world where we put as mutch time into being good people as we do being smart people if we worked toward compassion instead of the next iPhone
Technology manufacturers are experts in drawing our attention away from what matters the most. I used to be shy and withdrawn in a society that liked to interact constantly with one another. I worked hard in bringing out the social butterfly within me as my shyness was seen as weakness. I succeeded to wake in a World where I now walk with my head up, look, smile and want to interact with people to find them distracted by a phone with ear plugs in, unable to hear as I say "Good morning".
I think it starts by teaching through arguments. Where all sides are open to different possibilities and routes to get to perfect or a somewhere in between if we don't have all the information.
What an excellent TED Talk! I'm surprised as to why this talk doesn't have atleast a million views! Literally a gem that I found. Honestly I had judged the video based on the title and how the speaker looked and the number of views it had, but man was I wrong. I was completely into the talk halfway in, having forgotten everything around me being completely immersed in what he was saying. I've seen so many talks with views twice as that of this one yet being not even half as good. Well what they say is true after all - All that glitters is not gold! This surely was gold, and thank you Peter for this wonderful talk! Cheers :)
Thank you so much peter. I Scrolled through comments to find a summary, but after listening I can say, Nothing will be equal to Listening yourself. My fave quote:" LIFE IS A MIRROR." " IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT HAPPENS TO US,RATHER WHAT MEANING WE CHOOSE TO GIVE TO IT!'
Criticism is only appreciated when you have better ideas. People are being haters here and it is upsetting. He clearly has a message for us in the end and his delivery is very nice. I needed this right now!
This is a once in a lifetime talk Beautiful, I'm glad I was lucky to listen to every word totally insipered from a higher realm for us to have more life and Happyness now ,what a wonderful gift this man is to all of us . Beautiful.
staying chained to your past is the worst thing you can do to yourself. It robs you of the present and kills your future as a result, and in a few years you’ll be looking back on that time where you took now for granted continuing to regret your past again. Eventually, when your life is coming to an end you’ll be regretting the past for the very last time realizing you have never truly lived.
Amazing talk Peter. You really give us some deep insights that make me reconsider the way I see myself and my relationship with others. Thanks for sharing your wisdoms and experience with us.
Adding this idea to my subjective philosophy. I’ve always know it all comes down to love and I got that through my faith. Yet the mind is a whole other arena that isn’t so cut and paste for me. Hence the move to develop my subjective philosophy for my mind. This idea is perfect for it. Many thanks.🖤🙏🏿
Last night i had a dream. Hypnotherapy has allowed my old subconscious to be seen consciously and i have subconsciously and courageously written my dream programming, at the subconscious level. Now i dream, remembering more...Last nights dream was so clear, and with so much feeling.. i wrote it down to become aware of it happening in reality. I was fixated in the pages of a large book, the images were alive, glistening.. i was watching, a live participant at a fashion show, right there with the models strutting, beautiful, confident.. it was so intense, every little detail.. pimped europhoria. This morning i jumped on youtube and we connected. I am fixated. I am tuned in and turned on, receiving and sponging up. You are strutting and i, feel you have come to deliver me what i need right now, to shift to a higher level. Grateful and a new admirer. 🦋💫🤸♀️🎯🌊🌱🙏
I’m from the U.S and it seldom occurs to me just how much 9-11 affected people in other countries as well, who rely on alliance with us. We stay focused on ourselves so often that we don’t realize the support we have.
He gave such an inspiration and good talks to us. He always gives us a very good emotional and life lessons lessons to us. Wow what a wonderful talk it is Thanks for gave us a lovely talk 🙏🙏👍👍💖
What is sad is the woman having another man she loved snatched away in a fleeting moment. Technology doesn't make us, WE decide to make Technology what it is.
I have no problem getting close to someone if they are a good hearted person. It’s cold hearted people that I stay clear from. A lot of humans are cold hearted, sad truth …
Dear Peter your message is profound and your talk is very inspiring, please talk slowly with awareness, with gentle love, you will enjoy it all the more, love n regards, kishore
Murny Munira ... The title says to stop waiting for life to happen. This story about the lady that lost 2 loves of her life should be an inspiration for everyone to realize how short life is. We find reasons to not do something versus living full out and moving forward. Maybe if she had married that man, who’s to say that something different would’ve happened that day for them🤷🏽♀️ You never know🤷🏽♀️
So for all those people that are highly cynical with this video, go ahead and keep that mindset - couldn't really care less. correct, its not got so much 'content' as you might expect from a highly analytical and scientific ted talk. but personally that doesn't make a difference - how often of all the different ted talks that you've viewed have you decided to go do something? this video, if you get the message is simple. be grateful, love life, love your relationships, and cherish each moment and go make the most of it, not many other ted videos can give that kind of message, and this does just that dont want you to rant at me, happy for criticism though cause id love a different perspective thats not just cynical emotions lol
One thing I realised as a CBT Therapist a coach and motivational thinker and doer is. Us BRITISH don't fall for any kind of enthused empathic love driven motivation. USA yes but us no. I enjoyed your speech but these kinds of concepts in UK are often rejected because we are so cynical. You are my kinda person please keep spilling your words and flowing with your energy.
Some peoples egos are so big to think our ancestors did not have an imagination... They literally are the ones we built off of. They charted the stars and navigated the seas. They are the ones folklores come from of great monsters and God's and mythical creatures and so much more. They had imagination dude and creative skills to figure out shid and build pyramids, cities, underground tunnels. So much. Without their dreams and imagination we wouldn't be here. Just cuz they couldn't achieve everything doesn't mean they couldn't imagine. I can dream of stuff that I can't build and probably won't see built in my lifetime.
LET GO OF THE PAST AND LIVE IN THE MOMENT. Its not I have to but I want to. Its not I cannot, but I can and will. As a cognitive neuroscientist and public health specialist, upon looking at case reviews on the effects of exposure to traumatic experiences, people live their lives stuck in the past not living in the present. As Peter Sage describes in his Ted Talk, when you drive if you look in the rear-view mirror, you will crash. But mostly you will only see where you have been in the past, not forward, the future. You get stuck in the past. Further he suggests, it never matters what happens to you in life. Because that is a story that is kept in your head, instead your heart (feelings of passion for what you desire). What matters about these stories and experiences in life, is what we do with the story. For some divorce is tragic for some its freedom. Its how we write the story. Let go of the chains and the past excuses. Once that happens, life opens up. One needs to learn to accept. If not they blame their behavior, actions and life onto others.
This guy is one of the most powerful speakers I’ve ever had the pleasure of listening to

Agree: we are in a very selfish, status-driven in Western Society: people are wrongly judged by what they have rather than what they are
I think it starts by teaching through arguments. Where all sides are open to different possibilities and routes to get to perfect or a somewhere in between if we don't have all the information.
Powerful speech, Katy’s story is heartbreaking but her responses are inspiring
I have been hinding behind bad health. No turning back I have to live to my fullest desires every minute.

Analogy of 'White Blood Cell' and 'Red Blood Cell' and linking it to ALL HUMAN BEINGS on earth was just PERFECT .

Very powerful message. Thank you for this positivity and hope.
why is this talk so underrated? It is perfect and extremely inspiring! Kudos :)

Peter Sage- the guy with a wonderful thinking sensor and an extraordinary feeling sensor.
Criticism is only appreciated when you have better ideas. People are being haters here and it is upsetting.

You don’t have to be a chef to know if a food is too salty.

So beautiful said! This has touched me so much.
I hate reading comments while I watch the video because it influences me a lot
magdelima facts but I still do it lol
You are afraid that your motivation doesn't lose by reading comments which means that your motivation is temporary and you require self-belief.
OK.
Lol. I can relate
don't read them. .lol. .until finishing .I know why i do it. Want to see if it gets good comments ,then i watch the video
Peter is great, this may not be one of the greatest ted talks but he brings the message home well.
Which one is the greatest
What are you talking about? This is definitely one of the best ted talks. Did you even get the message?
This guy really knows how to strike a creative and interesting conversation that so many of us haven't had with others in such a long time.
Wow, OMG Cathy's story at Tony Robbins, re 9-11: @11:00 "and WE think [that] WE Have problems!" from 11mins are the gems for me!! 💪🏽
Great talk , Peter, you will be back , stronger than ever.
World is awakening; Change yourself in order to change yourself and spread this valuable lesson instead of worrying about our future.. ❤️
To be dramatic or FREE, It is your choise!
So grateful for this speech! ❤️🙏🏽✨
Great speach and speakers. We need more such inspiring personalities to uplift the next generations.
This man is AMAZING!!!!
Such a simple but profound message.
What a profound and inspiring message. Truth in its simplicity.
Thanks Peter for such an inspiring speech
Idk you peter but you're my friend. This was a powerful message. Your outer world reflects your inner world
staying chained to your past is the worst thing you can do to yourself. How the story concluded felt like a punch in the stomach. It took awhile to recover. Great lecture though.
Amazing talk!! I feel so inspired listening to Peter.

I also awakened to the news on 9-11 in Honolulu Hawaii. It was a tragic pivotal day.
I’m from the U.S and it seldom occurs to me just how much 9-11 affected people in other countries as well, who rely on alliance with us. We stay focused on ourselves so often that we don’t realize the support we have.

Thanks for gave us a lovely talk 🙏🙏👍👍💖
That lady's story is heart wrenching. I hope she found peace and happiness.
Thank you
Clear perception that translates into a clear discussion.
Watching this in 2021 , after 5 years and knowing that technology are making us worst every year , it’s so sad .
What is sad is the woman having another man she loved snatched away in a fleeting moment. Technology doesn't make us, WE decide to make Technology what it is.

This guy speaks like an early form of the Borg that we are all connected and all must be one.
This talk is so under-rated! Love it so much, it has helped me make sense of so much.. thank you!😁🙌
We should use technology to further the human interest, NOT hide behind it. Rich! 👌👌👌
how ironic there are so many hate comments under a talk about "love"
