2 years ago I noticed this Ryu player the first time when Raknos1982 uploaded some of his first replays on youtube and since then until now his playstyle has never changed.
Later on oShinAkumao introduced him to the FGC. I started gathering hilarious
and amazing moments of Jyobin's Ryu 2 years ago until today to compile a best
of video of Jyobin. Jyobin is probably 1 of the most entertaining Ryu players
to watch in my opinion.
Thanks for reading and thanks for watching.

For anyone who didn't know, Jyobin replaced Daigo in the SF4 Grand Finals at Dreamhack and won it for him. Congrats to Jyobin.
lol
There is a distinct line between genius and mad. Jyobin is definetly inbetween
The legendary full screen ultra against Guy still cracks me up 7 years later
This video has all of Jyobin's trademark techniques.
-Double Overhead
-Triple Overhead
-Quad Overhead
-Double Solar Plexus
-Lv 3 Focus Attack
-Meaty Ultra
-Meaty Tatsu
-Crossup Ultra 1
-HP SRK (non FADCable) frame traps
I love his meaty tatsu to catch grapple break attempts
Thank you for this comment. Smile :)
If you can't see the absolute brilliance in this Jyobin dude's playstyle, you know absolutely *nothing* about fighting games:
- The guy has top-notch execution, hitting one-frame links for breakfast and at the sime time doing reckless, random, surprising and compromising stuff that only scrubs or a VERY ballsy player would dare to.
- There is a surprise factor to his game and must be extremely frustrating for his opponents: you just CAN'T read a guy who suddenly transitions from scrubby spamming, compromising triple overheads to perfectly punish, poke or hit confirm you with a Crouch Medium Kick + EX Hadoken + FADC + Ultra *in the slightest opportunity he has*, or having the reflex to do what he did against Cody's Bad Stone at 3:28 Focus Cancelling to an Ultra.
- Contrary to people saying about "DP spamming", what he did in many cases were in fact *spectacular baits and reads*, like what he did to El Fuerte at 3:00 with that Shoryuken sequence: when the opponent thinks there is room to get closer and punish a random whiffed Shoryuken, there goes another Shoryuken right on the chin.
- The above average player wouldn't even think fast enough to notice there was an opportunity to use a Shinkuu Hadoken at 4:58, let alone be able to execute it.
There are instances when his crazy stuff certainly damages his competitive game, like spending a whole Super bar for nothing or that telegraphed Ultra at the corner against Guy. A methodical and serious pro would win most fights on a basis against Jyobin, but even so it's so much entertaining to watch a player having the balls to *knowingly*, *purposedly* do these kinds of stuff.
Come on: the guy has the balls to throw *Zangief* FIVE TIMES IN A ROW!
Long live Jyobin. :)
Yup, he has practically instant reflexes on trades that stuff his special and goes for juggles. I feel like his signature is slapping people with that overhead repeatedly!
Thanks for explaining in detail what he was doing. I'm new to the game.
I agree with you except for your last point about 4:58. Super off trade shoryuken is very easy, all you have to do is mash heavy dp, any beginner player should be able to do that.
+DE Climax
Lariat isn’t throw invincible in the first place.
+Ryu2012SF shush scrub
"Jyobin - a Japanese Ryu player best known for the fact that he has apparently never given a fuck."
This looks like if Ghandi could do one frame links
Ghandi but nutty
Lol so true
I like people calling him bad in the comments. The dude is hit confirming every single hit or trade. I bet you can try to be as "random" as him and you wouldn't go near as high as he is.
He's definitely random, but it's calculated risks (he's doing it when he had a lot of life lead), plus he has exceptional reaction.
And it's the opponents fault for falling for it constantly, and it's high level opponents as well. Why should he stop.
Also the highlights were mostly his crazy DPs. Obviously they never showed his normal play.
Also hitting one frame links too, something I'll probably never do
@@rawrdino7046 just plink. You'll get them way more often
5:24 might be the single most disrespectful dp in all of 4 god I miss that game so much
in order to master the ROO, one must master the art of no fucks given.
+NEKROS whats roo ? been wondeing for ages
+alex jackson Roo is the infamous mispronounciation of Ryu's name. We now call it Jyobins character.
Well, it's still more accurate than Rye-U...
It's amazing how Jyobin can land a DP out of nowhere. ALWAYS.
Its space control is incredible too. It can fight next and press the opponent like a bulldozer.
Inspiring.
He's not *super*-strong, but he's NOT random. Jyobin often gets into the situation where he feels himself too hard. All that stuff you see him do sometimes which makes no sense, he's thinking "I *know* my opponent's gonna do this. I *have* to do THIS." That and that's he pretty strong generally and has very strong character knowledge makes him a fan favorite. Dude enjoys himself.
Reminds me a bit of how Daigo used to play Ryu. But at least Daigo used to give SOME fucks when playing, this guy gives zero fucks (or negative fucks if that's possible).
Damn that full screen ultra was soooo close
The man has no fear...if he reads it, he's going for it..its amazing play....best defense = overpowering offense..
This guy is great and he has never cared about anything
It's not mashing, he's just godly at mix-ups and mind games 😂
This is such fun gameplay to watch. The guy has balls of steel, constantly taking people's turns away, baiting crouch tech with ex tatsu, tight ass links, fast reflexes and no fucks given offense that just catches people off guard. I think he should play someone like seth and just get fucking bonkers with the absolute nonsense he can do
Amazing, this guy really does give no fucks.
Keeps doing whatever he wants to do . And doesn't care what the other guy is doing lol
He clearly has amazing reactions, knowledge of his character and setups. He lands counter hit confirms off EX that I doubt few Ryu's could do.
overmostheads I miss your oni man!
It looks like some guys in here don't know who Jyobin is. He became a fan favorite for his this style. In actuality, he's a really good player. I've seen him in some tournament matches, he's very solid and has done well even against Daigo. He just treats online like how it should be treated, not very serious and just have fun, win or lose.
This is the most aggressive Ryu, and probably the most aggressive player I've ever seen. I want to see him compete, that would be amazing.
This man dithers between intelligent and idiotic in a way most of us could only dream
I have watched this video like 30 times now, it still isnt old yet. Thank you sir
People doing know that Jyobin has never given a fuck a day in his life.
So much to say about his style, his EX tatsu crouch tech blowup into ultra is legendary, and the DP control is amazing, also love how when he stuns he goes for charged focus.
I don't think I've ever seen a clip of him that I can remember.. but this is definitely what my sf5 gameplay has turned into😭😂😂
Trading hit confirms online in SF4.. I think people really need to watch in depth more before calling him random. Unique is a better term.
Unpredictable.
Bruh, I couldn't even imagine play someone like him. He never lets his opponent breathe; his pressure is insane because not only is he aggressive, but also unpredictable.
The point of this video just shows
1. Doesnt give a fuck
2. Doesn't give a less fuck and do it
3. Dat overhead is scary when crouch tech-king
4. Learn to block especially when you know he will be throwing a DP
5. PLAY FOR THE FUN OF IT. ITS ONLINE, WHO GIVES A SHIT
The epitome of "he just fuckin did it"
Jyobin is the very definition of 'if a player is simultaneously trash and amazing'
I've watched this video tooo many times now.
what a sick tribute. nice music man, watching in 2020!
6:05 absolutely incredible, how does he do it
Still my favorite player.
And my favorite video.
very good, Jyobin.
That Ryu vortex is crazy! Overhead into overhead into yet another overhead!
Been a few years since I've seen this video. Recently I've gotten back into Ultra SF4 because I'm helping a new player learn the game. Great stuff.
This video still tight years later lol
I'm new to SF but I loved all the derps at the end. Good stuff XD.
Full focus into stand still till rog cant be hit into crouching heavy kick. Jyobins strongest mind game
many collarbones were broken during the making of this video
This is a huge part of why SF4 was so good. The mechanics and moves allowed you to be "random" but if you had solid fundamentals, the style would work and you'd essentially be unpredictable. In 5 (and maybe even in 6), you can't do this anymore and it's pretty sad. The movements are all restricted - no backwards air tatsus or even tatsus to move forward after knockdowns for example. Instead, one bad random decision and it's a huge chunk of life lost, so people stick to strict, boring, by the book styles. At least 6 has more options and layers, and the game is actually fun.
he's got that special combination of I don't give a fuck whilst also being a really skilful player. He has great execution and is clearly capable of high level play. But at the same time he just doesn't give a fuck. That's what makes him so entertaining and so watchable.
Watching the very first sequence, and only the first, is enough to understand the basis of jyobin.
This man is playing on an all new level.
I'm not sure where that level actually is relative to everyone else but he's there all right.
He turns flowchart into masterchart.
The online warriors have found their king. This is some top-level online tactics going on here.
Ryu...
my favorite character!
FINALLY BEST OF JYOBIN
That's exactly the point why he's most entertaining to watch lol
This guy is so random it's not random anymore lmfao, nice video Liang.
hahaha, this video is awesome, seeing a lot of big names getting beat as well, nice!
this is hilarious dude
He's turned the Xbox Live style of fighting into an art.
Dude that's sick!
I love how enraged this guy is all the time, it's hilarious to watch him
This player is my inspiration
Good video, i wonder what happened to Dat Roo, i haven't seen anybody upload online matches of him lately...
The matter is not if he is pro or not, the difference is that he manages to WIN, consistently, while doing so
Can't believe that SF4 had its own Kusoru
i like this agressive ryu playstyle a lot
He is known for he's agrresive ryu style
Don't Hate on Jyobin Hes a Legend, Thumps for all Jyobin Fans. IF Ryu was real he would love Jyobin because he can use ryu better than alot of players, except Sekiganryu and Daigo ofcourse
Them overheads, L3 focus attacks and HP Shoryukens. You'd think he was a srub learning to play the game. But that's exactly what he makes his opponents look like instead.
Jyobin's Guide On How To Win Ranked Matches would've been a better title
"I don't always play Street Fighter, but when I do, I don't give a flying fuck" (Jyobin's dixit)
Lol'ed hard as fuck at that light kick to Balrogs face on reaction. :p
i watch this everyday
Imagine a: "The worst of Jyobin" video of his rounds where that style gets blown up
I would not dear to touch a button if I played against Jyobin
Holy fuck this is making me miss street fighter 4 so much it hurts. For anyone doubting Jyobin is unironically smart as fuck lol
JMCrofts sent me here
Hey Liang, you should make a best of PikachuAkuma! That'd be cool
Jyobin has to be one of the most entertaing and funniest to watch
plays from the heart
The art of not giving a Fuck shown at its best in this video. When 0 fucks are given they result in moments like this.
This video is safe to consume. It has 0% FUCK.
Mashing IS a mind game! So is being "random" for that matter. I've always hated that random is somehow an insult in the FGC.
3x OH's in a row.
those overheads, god damn it.
revisiting this vid cause I just saw Daigo rip this tech lol
media.eventhubs.com/images/2014/01/07_daigodashio.gif
I like the 3 overheads in a row sequences :-)
What's the song at 1:18? The video linking to that song is no longer available.
Would like to know too
Those 4 overheads against ProudStrawberry is one of my favorite all time moments.
I'm sure a lot of people thought that before losing to him. The whole point of being random is to catch people off guard. It won't always work, but neither does sticking to the basics.
nice but if you took the time you could probably make a video of clips where his opponents guess right and it would just just as long
3 overheads in a row! why didn't i think of that :D
Jyobin got such an un-orthodox style. Hes moves is really hard to read. imo
If you fight Jyobin, you're going to have a bad time....
You should call this the magic of jyobin so all the fan boys can throw a hissy fit :) jus playin great video
Jyobin is like the lil b of the street fighter comunity
i love the x3 overhead pressure haha
What software do you use to make your intros?
That last clip LOL
those triple overheads are amazing LOL
Ryu is supposed to be a calm and collected fighter who's looking to be the very best fighter. I love how Jyobin plays him like a dude who's never given a shit about anything in his life and only wants to punch the shit out of everything in front of him as soon as fucking possible.
The epitome of "method to the madness"
