It always amazes me how you can do something perfectly legal with your own brain, but you’re not losing enough money so then they tell you that you can’t play. What a racket.
I'm not trying to shill for casinos, but it is unfair. Here is why: Casinos are a business. They have full disclosure on their odds for games, and people *know* going into a casino that the house has an edge. What other way can you make $100,000 in 10 minutes, legally? The odds are skewed towards the house, but that is obvious; nonetheless, you still have really good odds at making several times your buy-in. In other words, the casino offers you a game, blackjack for example, where the odds of winning when playing by BS is 49.5%. 49.5% odds to win. The 0.5% is the house edge. Why is this unfair when they need to make more money than they give in order to run and provide jobs? Are we seriously this greedy over 0.5%? Let us not forget the golden rule. Gambling is not a job. Gambling is supposed to be fun. You have the possibility of making double, three times, or even a thousand times your buy in. @@brentfarvors192 it's pretty simple, don't let winners play. I'm sure casinos know how much every player is up or down, technology is so good today. Recognizing card counters or knowing what to look for helps sure, but they have camera's to calculate the games.
To the people saying it was weird that the casino backed him off while he was down - the casino only needs to notice a pattern, whether they spot it while you're down or up is irrelevant. If they see you doing everything right but you're losing, you're still doing everything right and at a statistical advantage long term, so the longer they let you sit, the more likely they are to lose money.
All I know about gambling is if I don't participate, the money I have will remain in my pocket. I once worked with a guy who had a gambling addiction. He was always hitting us up for payday loans until we tumbled. One morning, on the way to work, which took us past the Casino, we saw his truck parked in the lot; he was spending the night there. It eventually cost him his marriage, job, and home. I often wonder what became of him?

@@bamslambamHD is not silly at all. Decisions should be made on the expected value and whether someone is a threat rather than the actual result. If someone wins and isn’t a threat they should never be backed off.
@@bamslambamHD its not silly at all casinos dont care if you win or lose they just care about expected value which casinos already have a pretty low number on games like blackjack. That's why people who play games like roulette get way more comps than any blackjack player. The casino values a player off of expected value most the time not off amount lost I've seen people at my casino lose $5,000 in under 20 minutes then get refused for a hotel room vs a player who has been there for 8 hours grinding his $50 bets and only down a couple hundred where they will gladly give it to him. The 5k player did a couple $500 bets and got unlucky but the casinos views the $50 player higher even though he lost less because he is technically risking more over time they know that 5k player most likely will not consistently play like that of course if he's losing 5k every 20 minutes it's a different story but losing once the casino couldn't give a f about ya. It's weird but every casino has an hourly number on your head based on what game you play the odds the limits your average bet and how many hands you are playing an hour that's what the player cards are for they view the guy that drops 5k one time then tries to get free stuff as a low value player usually but the $50 a hand guy might have like a $150/hr value tied to his account and casinos will usually give u around 10% of your value in comps some do more some do less.
Hey Steven, I work in surveillance in a casino and can tell you facial recognition databases are huge. The facial recognition now is so good and it's detecting people regardless of disguises (based on facial feature measurements). Try to avoid casinos obtaining good 4×4's of you by wearing a mask is my suggestion (it'll dodge facial recognition too)
Yeah, because wearing a mask in a casino isn't sketchy or alarming at all 😂. That would draw immediate attention whether it's a covid mask or not. Espeically since very few people are still wearing them regularly anymore.
My uncle worked at a casino and told me "the moment you walk through the door they know your name and everything about you" . The age of surveillance has been here longer than anyone really thinks.

They catch on because they win with no reaction any normal person to win that amount just sitting down at table would atleast show some excitement for the winnings
Yeah that's a huge giveaway. Professional players get numb to winning a few hundred dollars. Also throwing some tips to the dealer would make it seem less like they're just doing business.
@@trigtrig3727its a scam is what it is. This is why i dont gamble. If you're any good, you get banned. If you win a jackpot at a slot machine, the machine's malfunctioning. After seeing so many terrible backoffs, seeing the first casino pitboss be like "yeah sorry you’re too good for us, you can play anything else though" and seeing it’s consistent for you and your teammates almost makes you think there are nice pitbosses/casinos. (Almost. Never completely forget that casinos are fundamentally evil structures.)
I'm a dealer and most of the dealers/floors/pitbosses do not gives a single fucccck I feel like Steven overexaggerates the fact that they are "on to him" sometimes like in this video of course the floors are gonna be all over your table watching you if you just went from $1000 in front of you to $5000 their job is literally just to keep track of the dealers racks and the money on the table and any people who are walking with big chips (usually $100+ for low limit $500+ for high limit). While I'm dealing I never even call out "cheques played" anymore only table max or pay/take table max if the max is 1k or above I feel like that's more of a newer dealer thing or if you are new to the casino you're working at and they don't fully trust you yet most veteran dealers i know never say it. Someone gonna ask it so ill put it in here as well a dealer yelling Pay/Take table max is just a lazy way to say "i'm not checking this guys bet im just dealing" so an example would be you're at a 10k max table and a guy puts up like 11500 in a mix of black and purple chips i'm saying i'm only paying him up to 10k if he wins and only taking 10k of it if he loses.
@charless2684 they are when they say cheques play but most older dealers do not really care enough to even say it or you deal so much that you don't even notice like I usually deal baccarat where thousand dollar hands are pretty common but when I get thrown into these low limit bj pits It doesn't even phase me

Facial recognition at casinos is truly insane. I've seen apps which flag people of interest based not just on looks, but on analytics such as walking speeds.
Gait, balance, gesture, shape, facial movements. All can be recorded and analyzed. Very hard to trick them based on all of these That doesn't mean everywhere has tech this sophisticated. It just exists, and no one knows who has what.
I just happened to stumble upon this video with zero prior knowledge or experience in casinos. Do they actually have tech that records and analyzes people based off of their potential to win???

There have been a few photos where my daughter was almost COMPLETELY obscured by other kids or trees or she’s just very far in her background and it still includes those photos in the list. @@stevenbridges Most press is good press even if its bad unless its really bad. Card counting keeps casinos in media. Think about all the movies with card counting or other ways of beating the casinos that just so happen to let to the movie makers film inside. Your channel might not be the hang over or oceans 11 but it acts in similar ways. It keeps casino gambling on people's minds. The thrill of gambling is beating the house. The casinos want to encourage that idea. Obviously they don't actually want the average person to beat the odds. But they want the perception that there are people out there doing it. It makes gambling feel more glamorous or adventurous. Casinos clearly tolerate a level of card counting. They could easily make rule changes to games to make card counting impossible but they don't. They know most people consuming card counting content will never learn how to do it well enough to succeed. The few who do are just an advertising cost. They may even be allowing certain card counters to play longer hoping to get more youtube views for their casinos. If you really want to beat the casinos stop talking about them. Or start making your content about all the destitute people they have created.
Yes. That is how casinos work. Their business is you risking your money to potentially win. Of course they aren't interested in letting you win big. How do you not get that?
@@SF-fb6lvIt's not stupid. It's simple.. Counting cards gives you the house edge, meaning that in the long run you would win an infinite amount of money from them. If they allowed everyone to count cards, they would lose all their money and go bankrupt. The entire point of a casino is that it's a profitable business. If their business model was to lose money, they wouldn't be able to exist. Think logically before you call it stupid..
It has nothing to do with how much you win at the casino. It's about the odds. You can go on a hot streak on a slot machine or roulette, turning $100 into $100k in one night and they wouldn't bother you at all, because the odds are stacked against you, you just got extremely lucky, which happens sometimes. With card counting, you get an edge over the casino, so it's no longer based on luck. Statistically you will always win in the long run. Obviously they can't allow that, otherwise they wouldn't be able to run a business.
My uncle who for years was a session musician in Vegas told me some pretty horrifying stuff about what they used to do with "players" gaming the system. He even came close to it playing some gifted chips he had a streak of luck and he was driven out into the desert and left there as a warning but it would seem whoever did that ended up being given a hard time as one does not pick on the musicians because a boycott and strike is going to ruin a fair few managers day and uncle refused to play in that casino/hotel.
I would be tempted to be a smart alek when approached. "Hey pit boss i'm really sorry but I've lost track of the count is it -5? The dealer was just going way too fast".
@@trigtrig3727 They can manipulate roulette. A skilled croupier can significantly increase the chances to hit any number he/she wants. If the (very attractive) lady walks in with a chip she'd just found on the parking lot, she might win 36-fold (actual case, and she did win 36x, and that was it). In such a single case, the pit manager ("pit boss") might let it slip (more likely in Europe, less likely in the US; the case I mentioned was in Europe -- and she was darn hot!). However, there have been croupiers who have worked together with players. Until they got caught, obviously. The "eye in the sky" will record all outcomes, compare them against statistically expected outcomes, and if something seems odd *in favor of players,* the pit manager will be alarmed. Obviously, if the croupier shift the odds *in favor of the casino,* the pit manager is a very happy pit manager who is very happy with his croupiers (unless it gets too obvious what's going on). Note that classic roulette has a house edge of 2.70% (and French roulette has 1.35%). You lose relatively little money for your free drinks, right? Not in the US. American roulette has an additional number "00", raising the house edge to 5.26%. Oh well, as long as they don't add another "000"...oh well, they just did. We're at 7.69% now. Seems they are "slightly altering the rules"? It's technically not cheating, but might qualify as a scam. You might still find single- and double-zero tables, but these are designed as high roller tables now, requiring a much higher buy-in than the triple zero roulette. Blackjack OTOH is governed by pretty straightforward rules, and can't be manipulated as easily be the casino. The casino computers know your exact hand and what's on the table at all times (often, the cards backs are marked with invisible ink only the cameras can see), but that doesn't give the house an advantage. Blackjack is pretty fair -- except that the house can throw *you* out if you're winning, but you can't throw the house out of you're losing. This *does* put the house at an unfair advantage, and that *might* count as cheating. Morally. Not legally.
I wouldn't be surprised if they are tracking your phone (phones automatically broadcast bluetooth id and also your wifi mac address when automatically scanning for open wifi networks). So theoretically as soon as you enter the casino they can track the location of each phone using multiple sensors. So if they flagged a phone as belonging to someone they suspected of counting cards, then they can be alerted each time that person's phone is detected in their casino. Check out the 2013 NYTimes article "Attention, Shoppers: Store Is Tracking Your Cell"
If you want to stop getting caught, you need to do something to alter your eyes. Face recognition tech uses the eyes heavily. And if you’re not using some FX to alter the shape of your eyes and nose, they’re going to catch you every time, no matter how many beards and wigs you use.
Assuming that's true, simply wearing glasses alone would obscure and distort the eyes enough that they should be pretty effective at throwing off facial recognition in practice. If I'm wrong, doing something a bit more dramatic like a bandage over an eye or wearing varying amounts of eyeliner or even lenses might be worth a shot.
Automatic Shuffle Machines now come with "Enhanced Shuffle modes" specifically "E9 and E8 modes." The Shuffle machines can read every card and proof is that they can identify immediately if a certain card is missing...ask any dealer. The new software and "Enhanced Modes" can now..."stack" the deck in an order that is advantageous to the casino and the late acting dealer hand. Because the player always acts first in Blackjack your odds of losing are highly increased. The shuffle machines randomize the "Stack" to comply with the gaming commission rules & regs so it isn't considered unlawful. THE LESSON is....ALWAYS CHOOSE a "hand shuffle" table. I'm a blackjack dealer and I know TRUST ME....just Ask any BJ dealer (NOT in front of their Pit Boss) what they would recommend when they play BJ. >>>>97% of them would ONLY play at hand shuffle tables.
The ridiculous thing about all their surveillance and countermeasures is that they're doing all of it to squeeze out an extra edge from the patrons. If card counters were really that much of a problem, the casino could just make all tables flat bet. It doesn't hurt the game at all, but it ruins the counter's advantage. But they won't do that because they're hoping someone who starts betting $20 gets emotional and starts playing $50, $100, or more to try to make it back. And the profit they make by letting that happen is greater than what the counter takes + all the countermeasures required to stop him. Which is really sad.
This. NEETs on imageboards can find a location of a person in 5 minutes from a photo of a rock. Pretty sure any casino that wanted to can just take a look at the dealer whose face they blurred out but didn't blur out the nametag and just cross-reference that with the footage of a customer spilling their drink to immediately invalidate they tried to hide the guy's disguise.
Casinos are a business and companies are in business to make money. And while Walmart may have the ability to refuse service to someone, I feel like the gaming industry deserves special scrutiny. If you’re willing to take people’s money en masse, then you should also be prepared to lose it as long as cheating isn’t happening.
I used to count cards in the Caribbean. If you do, you figure out quickly the house is cheating. It is extremely easy for the house to cheat at blackjack. Throw in some 2s, 3s, 4s and the houses odds increase evponenentially im sure vegas does this too. Play craps=the only fair game
Glad you're back! I think the casinos are going to make solo card counting impossible in the next few years. The bottleneck was in computer vision: Ten years ago you couldn't point a camera at a playing card and run a program to reliably recognize which card it was. Now that's trivial. And if you have a record of every hand played and every bet made in real time, it's not hard to write code that can detect when someone's bet is rising and falling with the count. BP/spotter play will remain difficult to detect. I suspect that's going to be how most card counting happens.

And this is why I’ll never gamble in any casino, they only want losers at the table.
Really? No way. It's not like it's a business or anything.
Haha double entendre nice
@@romeolz Lol, you have no idea what "double entendre" means.

(Almost. Never completely forget that casinos are fundamentally evil structures.)
Honestly yeah that was pretty polite
Thanks for the explanation. I actually never knew that. I always thought the dealer was just saying "big bet, heads up" to the pit boss
@charless2684 they are when they say cheques play but most older dealers do not really care enough to even say it or you deal so much that you don't even notice like I usually deal baccarat where thousand dollar hands are pretty common but when I get thrown into these low limit bj pits It doesn't even phase me

@@stevenbridges sad my explanation reply got removed somehow.
So, with a straight face, the casino basically says you can no longer play because you are not losing enough. Wow...
Yes. That is how casinos work. Their business is you risking your money to potentially win. Of course they aren't interested in letting you win big.
How do you not get that?
@@spankyjeffro5320Of course I get it; it's just stupid...

Casinos: it's ONLY legal when I cheats. You GOT THAT??
they dont cheat though tbf

12:36 family friendly casino?🤣
Yea some people have families crazy huh🤣
Yup! They're pretty slick
I'm not really into card games but, that is really impressive! You make it look so easy.
Excited to see more
The ridiculous thing about all their surveillance and countermeasures is that they're doing all of it to squeeze out an extra edge from the patrons.
Your videos are totally worth the wait.
I feel like this information shouldn't be published on YT if you plan on "flying under the radar"
I don’t gamble or play even know how to play any card games. But I don’t know I enjoy watching your videos so much!
I was under the impression that the casinos mix cards in from multiple decks to prevent card counting?
i think thats fraud as they, afaik, explicitly advertise the number of (whole 52 card) decks they use
Yes they use multiple decks but they cant remove cards (legally), but you can still count cards with multiple decks
Casinos are a business and companies are in business to make money. And while Walmart may have the ability to refuse service to someone, I feel like the gaming industry deserves special scrutiny. If you’re willing to take people’s money en masse, then you should also be prepared to lose it as long as cheating isn’t happening.
Agree! Basically it's theft!
Lol
lmao craps is dogshit
Kudos to you nice to see someone hit these big companies ❤
It’s a good day when Steven uploads
Facial recognition software is a pain in the butt
Next video when???
"We have games, but you're not allowed to play if you win! " Why does ANYBODY go to these places?
It's an addiction
Glad you're back!
I think the casinos are going to make solo card counting impossible in the next few years. The bottleneck was in computer vision: Ten years ago you couldn't point a camera at a playing card and run a program to reliably recognize which card it was. Now that's trivial. And if you have a record of every hand played and every bet made in real time, it's not hard to write code that can detect when someone's bet is rising and falling with the count.
BP/spotter play will remain difficult to detect. I suspect that's going to be how most card counting happens.
He’s back!!
Why are you not posting videos
the worst thing about this is that we now have to wait month again till the next episode :(
I'll tryyyyyy and be quicker with the next one
Maybe longer with due to auto facial recognition.
Maybe longer with due to auto facial recognition.
You can lose money all day and be allowed to stay if you win you need to leave …casinos suck dishonest
