You are the BEST!!! I’m trying to install a new radio and could not figure out how to disconnect the battery! I kept taking the negative off but there was still power. Your video saved me so much frustration! I cannot thank you enough!
Thanks so much for this! It saved me a from lot of worry and confusion. I did a lot of Googling on this issue, and this is the only solution I could find. Much appreciated!
I tried to do this backwards when clearing and engine code, and it was sparking really badly when I was removing the aux battery connection AFTER removing the main battery connection.
The best solution is to connect the battery to a “battery tender” (sometimes called a maintenance battery charger) which will charge the battery when needed and not overcharge it as a regular charger would. Just disconnecting the negative terminal will still age the battery. You can leave the battery in the truck or remove it to your garage and connect it to the tender.
Thank you so much for this... You are the only one out there I have found that got it right! Nice job!

👍
Dealership told me to do this Exactly for the Negative…
but to disconnect the Positive terminal from Main battery as well.
Exactly what I was looking for. Need to do some wiring wasn't sure how to disable the power not to fry anything. Thanks a LOT!
You are the best ❤

Do you need to reset or loose memory of anything when reattaching the batteries ?
No, all worked as before
I need both sides!!!
