So I've had Visible for over 2 weeks now. Zero problems so far. I was nervous about switching after seeing some bad reviews but my transfer turned out to be smooth. My number was ported over from AT&T instantly. Streaming and Facetime are smooth and UA-cam plays fine at 1080p. Hotspot is much more stable than my shitty Comcast. I'm in VA and the highest speeds I got so far were 46 download/62 upload which is plenty fast for me. It's faster than T-Mobile at least where I am.
I'm just concerned that the unlimited hotspot won't last because there are far too many data hogs abusing the system.
If you're considering Visible and want a discount code, mine is: 3mZzgW

To the best of my understanding, the speed depends on the amount of people using the network, it can vary from about .2 Mbps to 10.0 Mbps. It is pretty sad that the speed could get lowered so much if many people are using it. I hope this helps. God bless.

Currently with Straighttalk Verizon network and in the last few months have had terrible speed and connection problems. No hotspot or tethering allowed on the 25 gig data Straight talk plan. If service was better here I'd switch in a heartbeat. Best guess in my rural area of service is over sold and the infrastructure needs upgraded to handle the extra volume. Too many people using the limited availability of service is a major issue. Verizon is good at selling what they don't have to sell.

It's amazing how many UA-camrs are having such a great time with Visible. I had the worst time with them. Obviously, customer service doesn't exist, but my main gripe was data speeds. They were awful and I could barely stream music or even use my internet at all while I was not within WiFi range. I'm in a very populated area in California and was surprised that I practically had no data while out and about.

I've been on other carriers before Visible. One thing you need to know before signing up for Visible is that your phone may be a "BRICK" (useless" for DAYS ON END, and unless you notice the tiny circle with a slash through it in the upper right hand corner, you'll think everything is normal.

The phone/service drops the signal, and unless you just happen to see the icon that depicts "no service" on the message bar, you'll think you have service. I've read that restarting your phone "fixes" the issue, but who wants to worry about their signal dropping all the time...or any time? It's the reason why I haven't switched at this point. There's no excuse for that in my opinion.

I have been using Visible for about a week. I came from Verizon and can’t tell a difference. UA-cam steams at 720p a majority of times. Sometimes I have to use 480p. I have also disconnected my Internet service at home. When I connect my iPhone through USB to my iMac and use hotspot, speed is not throttled. I can also use hotspot with my tablet and it works fine. Overall, I recommend Visible. I hope that the price and lack of throttling continue.

I'm with you, Patrick. I never really cared about mobile hotspot or unlimited data before (I used to pay by the gig on Xfinity Mobile), but I am enjoying Visible. It's simple, cheap and works well. If your experience changes or you have more to add after a month or so, it would be great to hear an update. I once got 120 mbps. Big fan of this company. As far as the hotspot it's good enough for a smart TV if you don't have in home WiFi. I've been with several prepaids and then I joined visible and never turned back. One gripe is no support for my unlocked moto g7. I had to buy a s8+. As far as customer service they're really good and super friendly. For party pay I just typed in Joe's party and actually found a group. I joined up and only paid 25 per month.

I've been with Visible for about a year, having moved from MetroPCS. I was attracted by free tether ability, and I needed a new phone. I got the S9+, so this was the first phone I'd had with a "drawer" (the others had the SIM and micro-SD inside).
The problem I've had is the phone gets dropped or drops the network! This means the phone is "on" but essentially useless. When contacted, Visible has been predictably unhelpful, blaming the problem on the drawer (and SIM connection), asking me to remove the SIM, re-insert it and restart the phone. Of course, this works, but so does just restarting the phone without removing the SIM. This leaves me questioning the phone itself, and the Visible network dropping my device, most likely due to a problem at their end!
Since there is no utility that sets off an alarm on the phone when it loses the network, my phone could be a brick at any moment I'm not looking for that tiny circle with a slash through it.

Great review. I'm with Cricket and pay $25 a month per 5 smart phones. It looks like I would be paying the same price with Visible so the only gain would be switching from the AT&T network to the Verizon Network. I'll have to do a speed test with Cricket before switching and it looks as though I may have to get at least 1 new phone. Thanks for the info. Don't give up! I had some issues to start! I could not respond to a text message. Internet speed was very slow. I swapped a brand new tracfone with boo koo minutes on it and Visible charged me 100.00 for a phone I was supposed to get for free. (Keep up with your tracking for the phone you use to swap!). Customer service is very good and they will call you if you need them to. If you use this for an everyday internet connection reboot your phone around once a week. It will increase the internet speed.

@@Honeysuckle82 Generally it's very good, and I for sure recommend it, but since it's LTE only, there are times where I don't get the same coverage I had when I was on Verizon. I believe this is due to the lack of CDMA coverage. Most notable is inside some buildings and underground. But at the end of the day, I'm glad I made the move from VZW to Visible.

  • @howardroark6594
    @howardroark6594 4 роки тому +5

Pay VERY close attention to the Visible coverage map. I was a long-time VZW customer and assumed my coverage was basically be the same on Visible. In most places the coverage is the same but in some rural areas Visible coverage is worse. For ex. on a recent drive from Huntsville AL to Cincinnati I had ZERO coverage from Franklin KY to Elizabethtown KY (roughly 80 miles on I-65). While I was with VZW their coverage downgraded to 3G for about 20 miles (and 4G for the remaining 60 miles) instead. TL;DR Visible may be really good for commuters but may not be as good for road warriors- depending where you travel.

    • @Hitman-tk6en

I mean if it's the 3g difference it won't matter in a few months since vzw will shut it down this year but roaming deals don't apply to visible but then again vwz doesn't have that many roaming deals

I was so disappointed that I wasn't able to receive from them because they won't mail to a PO Box, a FedEx station, or a UPS station. So you have to have a home in which to receive a phone from them. On top of that they do not have a customer service phone number. I tried texting with them and they will not provide a phone number to talk to anybody in customer service to try and figure out a way to receive items them from them without having a home address that you will need to be at to sign for the item. FedEx, ups, and USPS all allow you to sign for items at their stations but they simply will not accommodate. For that reason only, I was not able to use their service.

Straight Talk partners with multiple networks, but Verizon is one of them. If you have a Verizon SIM with ST, chances are Visible will have comparable coverage. The difference may be roaming in areas where Verizon isn't strong. If you live in a rural area, you may want to look into that. If you live in a city or suburbs with strong Verizon coverage, Visible will probably be great and you won't notice a difference.

On another phone on Mint Mobile (t-Mobile network) speeds were consistently in 25-28 Mbps range. I had to return my Visible phone and cancel the plan. If you plan to port a number do not cancel the old service. You have to wait for the number to be ported to Visible. If you cancel your old service before your number is working on Visible. You WILL lose that number. We are part time Rv'ers and have had Visible for 8 months. With party pay we are at $35.00/monthly. Coverage has been fine. We did find two very small towns with no data service. The phone service did work with no issues. We use the hotspot with our Roku STB. Last month it buffered 4 times. Is it Perfect no. But no service is just the reviews. All of the cell companies have bad reviews. There are just some people who. You can give them a $1000.00 and they would b_tch because one of the bills was not brand new. Will Visible work for you? No one can tell you 100% yes. If they do RUN. Every System is subject to failure. Come on these cell towers are on 24/7. What I am saying is Visible does work and works for us.

Look, if you want Verizon's network, get their prepaid service etc. I've been with Visible for 3 months now, and honestly, it's just not worth the painstaking process of trying to get adequate support. The simplest issues become monumental problems as Chat agents are completely unfamiliar with their products. They only have the ability to walk you around the website.
They don't offer insurance on any of their phones, and penalize you for trying to upgrade. I recently bought a new phone from them whereby they refused to honor the terms of their Master Card promotion for existing customers. Chat agents kept telling me that the promotion was for new customers, lol.
And don't even think about swapping in either. They will mark your account as ineligible for further upgrades, and you will be stuck with a low-grade phone forever.

Only been with Visible for a month but so far I'm quite pleased. Plus, the deals others have mentioned that started on Halloween 2019 are unbeatable. Just wish I had Wi-Fi calling on my Google Pixel3aXL.

1 question before I forget. The text spam. I thought text was phone number related. These spammer, scammers change phone numbers faster than I take a breath. Correct me if wrong. I love to learn and I'm 62.

Yes the scammers change numbers quickly. That's why I like Hiya. I can't keep up with them. And generally I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize.

@@MichaelSaves I never answer from unknown numbers that are not in my phone. If I do I will get 15 to 20 calls from a local exchange.
