Just signed up all three of our Verizon phones for the service using your link and code. Thanks for the discount!
We've been with Verizon for eight years. They keep increasing our rates, charging us overages for data, and generally punishing us for staying on month-to-month service and not renewing our contract after the first two years. We've been paying $160-$210 a month for 12GB of shared data. Now we'll be paying $120 a month with unlimited data on the same network. And if they slow it down, so be it. We've got 1GB internet at home for our Ruku/Hulu combination and there's wifi most places we go. At least we won't be getting any more $30-$60 a month surprises.
I'll try to remember to check back in later and update on the quality and speed of the data service here in East Texas.
    Thanks, again, Stetson!

Like with anything, you get what you pay for. According to my buddy who had visible for 2 months, when the verizon network is congested, your speeds are the first to go down the toilet. If you're in a big city like Chicago, your speeds very well could be less than 1 mbps. Phone calls are dropped a lot, and if you have issues with your bill, good luck getting ahold of customer service.

    Update 9/5/19:
Been in PCB, FL for the past week. Data service is awful, unpredictable here too. Spouse is on Cricket Wireless with no complaints.
    Original post:
I've been on Visible Wireless since late July. The phone service works well, the data plan is horrible. I live in a rural area where with 3000 people. My wife gets 70 Mbps download speed on Verizon in our home. Occasionally I get 50 Mbps there, but more often I seem to get de-prioritized and get 0.1 - maybe 7 Mbps down if lucky, and it is not consistent. Occasionally I get 30 Mbps down at home but the real issue is when I try to tether, or stream, I get lots of speed issues then. At work I've got up to 110 Mbps down. I tried to download a 1 GB app after using @t to test download speed showing I got 50 Mbps. I couldn't download the file, it dragged on and eventually failed. I tested speed three times, every time got 30 - 50 Mbps down. So I tried to download the 1 GB app, 3 times, same result, drag, slow, fail. I switched to Wi-Fi (also 50 Mbps down). Downloaded quickly and completely. I think Visible is not ready for prime time and they seems to de-prioritize often. There are many others who have reported experiencing the same performance issues I report here. I suggest using Cricket Wireless (AT&T). I used Cricket for 4 years and never experienced the speed degradation I have with Visible in just two short months. Why did I try Visible, unlimited, high speed tethering, but it is useless.

Thanks for the review Stetson. I switched one of my lines a month ago on a pixel 3 xl and service has been good to excellent in the LA area so decided to port a number from metro to visible and took less than a day to transfer so I only waited for the sim to be delivered and so far everything works fine on a Samsung galaxy s9 plus. I'll test it out on my next trip out of the city. Yes latency is way slower than on the metro service 170 vs 11

You get what you pay for...that simple. I started with Visible about 2 months ago...came from Cricket. The ONLY reason I left cricket was lack of hotspot, as I am a trucker and need a decent hotspot plan to stream tv at night. The good for Visible is the price and off peak speeds and of course unlimited hotspot. The bad ( and reason I’ll be getting rid of them) is that their deprioritized speeds are basically unusable. Usually those speeds range from .2 - 3mbps. Yes... .2...not 2...haha. Unfortunately it seems that they deprioritize your speeds quite a bit...so much so that it’s become an issue. I am also getting a lot of dropped calls, or frozen calls for 10-20 secs, then good again. I am also losing data temporarily in spots that I never did with cricket. Overall, for certain people that are in a very good area with low congestion on their towers, this may be a good deal...in fact it may be a great deal. But if you move around a lot and happen to be in a busy part of town, get used to extremely slow speeds. A real shame, as I wanted to like this company.

You mentioned buying a phone directly from the manufacturer. I did that a few months ago, bought the Moto G power directly from Motorola, unlocked for all carriers. Went to sign up on Visible, entered the IMEI and it said not compatible, talked to customer service, gave them the IMEI, they also said not compatible. Went to the Verizon site, it said it would work, went back to Visible, they said their requirements were different and that the phone would not work. I talked to Motorola, they said they only claim the phones to be compatible with the major carriers. So now I have a 250.00 phone I can't use. Visible would not even send me a sim card since they said it was not compatible. I ordered the Pixel 4a from Visible, and all went well. About 3 weeks after receiving the Pixel from Visible, they listed the Moto G power on their site, I checked my IMEI, and now it says it is compatible. So, if a phone is new to the market, it may take them a few months to say it is compatible. On the bright side, I now have a spare phone!

Thanks a lot for a pretty balanced review. I've been thinking of trying Visible out as a long term Verizon customer. I'm almost always on wifi when I need to depend on data quality, so I'm thinking the de-prioritization and LTE-only quirks (hell, even the threat of maybe-capped, maybe-not) may not sting so bad saving $200+ a year. I'll use your referral if I do, as a thanks for the time you spent on this.

Three weeks in and everything is fine except when I'm traveling in a rural, less populated part of the state, which I do for work three to four days a week. I had coverage with Verizon and assumed it would continue, but I'm left without reception for 2-3 hours each time. My guess is Verizon is renting local service from another provider and Visible is left out. Otherwise everything is fine and the speed down and up is acceptable.

Great review. I have used Visible for several months and was aware of Visible's LTE only service at sign up. This did not affect me until our area recently lost a tower. As you mentioned chat hold times since the "unlimited" announcement has been quite lengthy. Last week, I spent 5 hours on chat hold just to record the duration. But expecting a delay, I typed my question and had my granddaughter check for a response while I went shopping, cleaned the garage, etc. That written, my initial chats were quite speedy with minimal waiting time. My download speeds are usually in the 5-6 Mbytes/s range, which at the base of a mountain with no cable or DSL service, and only two cell providers (Verizon & AT&T on a good day) is more than sufficient for my needs.

I switched my entire family over to Visible from AT&T, we now pay only $25 each because of Party Pay, with that and a switch from DirecTV to UA-cam TV we are saving $490/month... it’s honestly the best financial decision I’ve made in a long time! The coverage is better, the speeds are better, we now get unlimited hotspot data, the 24/7 chat is incredible! The only reason I’d give for someone not to switch is if you don’t have good Verizon signal in your area, but that is statistically rare in the US because how truly everywhere they cover...

I have an Iphone 11 Pro Max and I am currently using Tmobile at $40/month for unlimited data, talk and text (esim) and Visible (nano sim) $40 unlimited plan. My phone allows two sim's. I have been testing out data speeds, call quality and signal strength in my place of work, home and all over the Baltimore and Washington D.C. area. Based on over 100 OOKLA speed tests over the LTE network, Visible service is superior in every way. I was not about to take anyone's advice so I figured the best way was to keep my old number and get a new number on Visible abnd test both numbers on my new Iphone. Well, after 30 days, I will be dropping Tmobile. Visible's ping's were a bit high earlier in October (90-120ms) but have recently improved (30-80ms). I hope this company sticks around for awhile as the quality of service is legit.

    What he isn't telling you.
Visible has a lot of bugs.
Just activating the phone is a exercise in frustration.
1 - The app for activation does not recognize your password.
2 - Resetting password does not help.
3 - Chat support is non existent. Claims there are too many people needing help.
4 - The $19 phone comes with the brightness locked at the lowest. Can not be changed until the phone is somewhat setup. But setting up is hard at the lowest brightness.
5 - Phone comes with much of the software needing a update, including the Visible app.
6 -$100 to $200 promotion, but impossible to activate also.
In another words, it seems a non technical person is in charge of the IT and the IT itself is composed of the most incompetent people.
Look into this company perhaps after a year. Right now, it is a mess.

Just tried it myself on my 3a XL. I had the unique "in between" activation prices. Ported in my number but they claimed something went wrong and I needed to contact them. The app didn't work to get a chat going, so I open my computer. Going to their website and logging in, it had a banner at the top saying my "account number was incorrect". 5/5 attempts remaining.
I copy and pasted my account number (again) from Total Wireless chat, and it said wrong again 4/5 attempts remaining.
I then noticed my account at TW was inactive since I sent to their website to confirm the account number.
Without doing anything else, I got an email saying my previous carrier released my number.
Not sure what was the final trick, but it's been working fine now. Just wish it had WiFi calling (or didn't need an iPhone to trick it into visual voicemail).

Even though WiFi calling is on, I see the circle with slash through it where the vertical strength bars should appear, so I have NO cellular signal, and my phone cannot receive phone calls or text messages.

It sounds like it works just like their "go unlimited" data plan. It's unlimited with no soft cap, they can throttle you at any time based on network congestion.
I live in a more rural part of Kansas City. The latest generation of high speed internet hasn't made it out this way yet. Everyone's data is slow, even our cable internet at home. I'm assuming Verizon's towers in this area are using the same slow internet as everyone else.
When I was getting throttled on the go unlimited plan I was getting about 60kbps according to the speedtest.net app. The only time I could get usable data speeds was at 3am when I woke up to go to work. I had to switch to the next higher tier of unlimited plan.
I guess what I'm getting at is, if you're a current Verizon customer, if you switch to the go unlimited plan for a few weeks, that would be a good barometer of what the visible plan would work like in your area.

I can call and text just just fine. As long as I don't try to text pictures. and here the problem Stars.I have zero internet.even trying to do a Google search it will come back with a message saying that there is no network connection.I contact the service they ran me around resetting the phone doing all kinds of pulling the SIM card out and back in and nothing same thing and I've been doing without internet for like 4 days and I don't know what I'm going to do other than feeling stupid for trying a company that we don't know much about.don't be fooled by the Verizon advertising I don't even think they are supported by Verizon and if they are I don't think they are paying them enough to have the service.you will see full bars and LTE on the screen but you just don't have a service because they're probably not paying Verizon.
anyway this is the second comment after 4 days and after signing up for this plan all of a sudden this morning I had internet and everything seems to be working good I don't know how long it's going to last.I drove like 10 miles around my city and did many speed tests and they all seem to be super fast? between 5 and 40 megabits per second.and it say that it is Verizon LTE. So I apologize for doubting on my first comment. Time will tell.

Within a day, my speeds were back down around 100 kbps. Whatever they're doing on their end seems a temporary fix. The network soon deprioritizes our access again. Last CS chat rep told me about my very slow internet speeds that it won't change.

I don't give a shit it's only $40 a month. I'm with T Mobile prepaid simply $50. Only $10 more. But there are no static and drop calls. And you can bring your own phone. Almost every unlocked phones is compatible. Visible only have a few. You're going to spend $350 to $1200 for a new phone through them. And forget about consumers service. Because they don't own any stores. Only way it's by video chat. It means it might take a day if they're busy. Fuck that shit. I'm willing to pay extra $10 for better service. I wouldn't be so upbeat about this service just yet. The $20 phone is very fragile. Screen will crack under normal use. Try upgrading to a better phone. Major nightmare. You can't order a new phone from them while your old phone is online. Once I ordered it, my service stopped and it took support a few hours to restore it. Then, the payment didn't go through so the phone was never ordered anyway. I ordered a compatible phone on Amazon (using the same payment method that didn't go through on Visible). When it arrived, they could not get my SIM card to work. Now they claim that the SIM card "might" be defective. I'm waiting for a new SIM card to arrive. Maybe, if it works, they'll redeem themselves. Needless to say, I have a backup hotspot for when I am on the road.

I have the base of a baseball trophy propped up behind it. Basically a small block of marble. Playing T-ball came in handy for me!

Hotspot data is now speed capped at 5Mbps, although I’ve seen many people getting 10-15Mbps...

I tested the hotspot. It doesn't work well at all. I was going to use this hotspot and cancel Spetrum; but, after testing it for a few days, I realize Visible hotspot is not reliable. Often I couldn't even see the hotspot when I was looking for it.
