Great video! I have been landscaping and using blowers for 32 years. Tip #1 for any hand held or backpack blower: once you start, don't rev the throttle back and forth. Put it all the way up on full (cruise control) the whole time you are blowing. If you go back and forth all the time, you have a great chance that your engine and carb system will crack and be damaged. I'm talking in a short amount of time, too...like 2 months new.
I respectfully disagree. I bought the cheapest stihl handheld blower and got 9 solid years out of it before it fell out of tune but yet it still ran, only reason i got rid of it was because i couldnt get an OEM carb during the height of covid and i opted for a cheap knockoff. I got what i paid for so i just parted ways with it and bought a Milwaukee 18v since i had the batteries already. Anyhow I varied the throttle constantly with it and never had an issue till the end and i blame its downfall on myself. It was the first time i didnt winterize it (i was in the middle of selling my house and moving) got overlooked. It still had its original air filter and plug till i did the carb/rebuild kit. Talk about reliability i was impressed. To me Revving it out all the time puts more stress on the engine and burns more fuel. Things might be different in the commercial market but for the average joe i experienced zero issues.
@low-key Lawn Care, thanks... I am a medical laboratory scientist that is doing lawn care for a living. Nice video.... I have made up my mind to get the Echo blower
For the home use, I advise using the premixed fuel sold at the stores. The premixed fuel uses ethanol free gasoline and is usually higher octane than you can get at the pump. For home use, it is not worth the little savings you get from pump gas and the 2stroke oil mix mixture. How many folks have inadvertently left fuel in their lawn equipment and regretted it next season when they go to start their equipment. I have had pump gas fuel in my equipment for as little as 5 months and the carbs were gummed up from the ethanol in the pump gas. That one year, I replaced all the carbs on my weedwackers, blowers and even my four stroke lawn tractor required a carb rebuild, at the time, I had pneumonia and it was a bitch to tear down that carb on the lawn tractor. It is not a guarantee you will get all that ethanol laden fuel out of your fuel system; those fuel lines and jets are relatively small and it only takes a little residual fuel in the system to cause a great deal of anger and frustration come start up time in the spring. I know replacement carbs are inexpensive, but it is far easier to just use the premix/ethanol free fuel.
Im a homeowner and mix 40:1 with red armor oil. There, ethanol problem solved. I hate the thought of an "already" mixed gas, I just cant trust what's in the can. What if the machine forgot to add oil to one can!
I'm an occasional home owner 2 stroke user.. I have grass trimmers, blowers, etc...I've always mixed my own fuels. E10 89 octane as non ethanol is unavailable in my area. I only mix one gallon at a time to prevent it from getting stale. Ive never had an issue, You have to store the equipment properly when it's not going to be used for extended periods of time.
Personally, I don't do anything special. I use it after each mow to clean up the driveway, so I figure that keeps the juices flowing and keeps things from gumming up inside. If you're storing for more than 30 days, the owners manual has some procedures to follow on page 33: www.echo-usa.com/getattachment/41e2659c-09a3-4006-9e92-c90ffd220c31/PB-580HT_14_040215_1_es
I have been thinking about getting this blower for my yard. I have never had a gas blower before. And never mixed gas and oil type engines. Right now the home depot only has this one and the don't know when they will get any more because of shipping problems like everything else right now. I watched both videos you did. Still not sure.
Hey there. Thanks for making this video. I'm thinking of getting this to move leaves off my lawn (obviously) but I also have a few Oak trees that drop a ton of acorns. I'm curious if this thing has enough power to blow them into a pile as well?
Been trying to start mine for 30 mins. No dice. I should have bought the ryobi elect I was looking at 😪 Also can't get the weedwacker going although I did get the edger to start. All Echo, all bought today because they are American made and Ryobi is Vietnamese.
Make sure you've got the gas/2-cycle oil mixture in there, prime the bulb, and make sure you've got the choke set correctly (on until is starts, then turn the choke off once it's running). Also, a big mistake I've made in years past is trying to start it with the power switch off instead of in the on position. On the trimmer make sure the on switch is pushed away from you and on the blower make sure you turn the power switch towards you. Also, if you've got all that right, you may have flooded the engine trying to start it for so long. Give it some time and try again later. Hope this helps! These are great once you get them figured out!
Just bought mine 3 weeks ago and I have a question. Every time 1st start for about 1 minute or until I floor it will habe blue smoke. After those 2 minutes when warm will be 0 smoke. Just the first start, what ir could be or is ot normal? Thanks
New home owner here. I have a 6000 sq ft backyard. You think this should be good enough? Also, do they charge for dumping the leaves at the waste disposal yard?
Welcome to home ownership! This would be a great blower. In regards to leaf dumping, it is going to depend on what town you live it. Check in with your town office and they should be able to let you know.
That goes inside the black flex tube. It's not very clear in the manual, but on page 21 you can find directions: www.echo-usa.com/getattachment/635dc4ab-cbe0-4f87-8125-07cdcd4b25cc/PB-580H%20580T_14_011020_2_es
It would be nice to know where that cable goes how to assemble it would be nice that's what I'm looking for I don't like to use instructions I'm not very good instructions and looking it on UA-cam is better than trying to figure out myself I'm just a half to see how it is put together but you skipped all that part so I'm going to give you a thumbs down
I love that echo blower that I bought in 2022 in home depot
Every time I get a piece of equipment and search a video you always have the exact piece ... makes life easy ... thank you
Thanks! Glad to help!
Really, why couldn’t you show how you did the whole assembly.
@@ilyasguvenilir8885 Because you can't read an owner's manual?
Just picked up this model today. $349 at Home Depot. Thanks for the video!
does some come with extra extensions ??? Im seeing videos with 4 and some, like the one I bought with 3🤔

That’s a great entry level blower for me. I struggled with a large landscape with a battery blower. Looks great for big yards.

I agree
Could I use non-ethanol gasoline in place of the pre-mixed fuel?

That you very much for the lesson and the tips!
I was looking for info on the anti static cable.
Your video was exactly what I needed to get started. I am ready to get with it now!
Awesome, have fun!
Suggestions on storing in between use? Do the chokes need to be set a certain way? How do I prevent flooding the carb?

GREAT VIDEO !!!!
Would've been nice to see you actually assemble it. That is what I am having trouble with
So does some come with extra extension tubes ??? Im seeing videos with 4 and some, like the one I bought with 3🤔
Thanks for the video! Have you had any issues with it shocking you?
Thanks! No, no issues at all!
i thought we were going to see unboxing and setup
Judging by the sun there it looks like it took you all day to set that thing up bro!
Haha! I did have to split up the video due to some work stuff I was interrupted with in between! 😂
Great video but you need more explanation in how to put it together not already assembled
It blows at 215 miles per hour and 510 cubic feet per minute
I don't know...my hand held one does that, just as well.
i know im seeing this late but i was at home depot and i put the pb 580t on my back and it heavy but im also 14 but i am going to bye it.
and it also sound great
What's the biggest blower you got?!!!! You didn't go that route. Yet you have a decent size property. Why did you take this route?
Can you make more videos on this please! I’m deciding if I should get it
I’ll make some more videos once I have something to blow! 😂 Come October the leaves will start coming down in buckets here in Maine!
Are those tubes included on the box?
Yes!

great how to do...
Hey I know it's random but... Can anyone measure out the LWH for the box please?
What do I do with the gray wire?
That goes inside the black flex tube. It's not very clear in the manual, but on page 21 you can find directions: www.echo-usa.com/getattachment/635dc4ab-cbe0-4f87-8125-07cdcd4b25cc/PB-580H%20580T_14_011020_2_es
Is this the 158mph blower?
No, it's 216mph
PB-580
I guess u have to have some strength to do it

Dude assembled it and didn’t show us
Where’s your PPE? 😆
Worst directions with equipment ever
Agreed...there were a couple places in the owners manual/setup instructions that made no sense!
This guy has no clue what he's talking about stihl is better than echo
Video showed nothing about assembly. Waste of UA-cam.
