    Good stuff, JB👍🏻
    I’ve had my ECHO backpack blower for over 17 years with zero problems.
    Myself, I am a fan of the hip throttle. One hand for throttle, one to direct the air flow.
    Another thing I find useful on my unit is that the end of the blowing tube is curved. It really helps to get the airflow parallel with the ground which is helpful in some situations.
    I’m not a fan of those straight tubes.
    All personal preference of course.
    Have a great weekend my friend!! 🍻

    • @GarageGear
      @GarageGear  9 місяців тому +1

      Hey Paul! Sounds like you got a classic over there! Don’t see many blowers nowadays with a curved pipe. I do agree getting the air flow parallel to the ground is a big thing! Have an awesome weekend bud!👍

    As always great video! I have the Stihl BR series but I like the extra features on this Echo....What grinds my gears with the Stihl is that to fire it ON I have to remove the unit and pull the cord. It gets heavier the more times you have to remove it to turn it ON or for more gasoline. Next unit I buy I'll get the hip pull. Happy leaf season...

    You are correct about the EFI chips being problematic on the bigger Ariens engines, I’ve actually seen quite a few of them in the shop over the years. Most of the time it’s the coin shaped batteries in the EFI that go bad, and on rarer occasions the entire chip has failed. This is one of the few times where a carburetor is actually better than a fuel injector. We’ve also been seeing a lot of problems with some of Arien’s smaller engines they put on the crossover and the 22 inch compact deluxe. We have two brand new units in the shop right now that are completely unusable because the engines have no compression.

    I've been ramping up on starting a lawn care business, and realized real quick while quoting i was in over my head with my Echo Shred n Vac. It pushed enough air to be...useful, but it was tiring always holding the unit, and a pain converting it between blower and vacuum. I grabbed this unit simply because it was the one that was available, and was looking up reviews and specs as I shopped. I'm glad I got it, it moves mountains and, being in a physical trade, it's pretty light to me, especially once on my back.
    I've only had it a short time, so the verdict is out regarding long term durability, but it saved my bacon when I started working with my first customers.

    Thanks for the review! I have an Echo PB-250 still going strong since 2008, but I'm finally moving up to a backpack. This seems to be the best option under $400; after that it's the coveted Stihl BR 600. That's where I'm at in Nov 2023.

    I had the echo pb580t. Was a huge echo fan intill I got this back pack.
    Had nothing but issues with it. Got it fixes coupple times and just more came up. End up getting rid of it and went to stihl br600. Never looked back.
    But I really wanted to like it. Not to heavy, good power for what it is. And the back air vents was amazing. Worked like a charm. Some one was using there head with that one.

    Have had mine for over 5 years. Echo red armor and high test fuel. Choke on, primer bulb a few, one pull, choke off, one more pull, fires right up EVERYTIME! Had to change the plug ONCE bc I accidentally used my atv fuel, 36:1 instead of 50:1, due to the plug fouling.. overall BEST 2-stroke machine I own! I just bought a 770T. That said the 580t was what I had in mind. But, the dealer was sold out of the 580T. Very good review! Doesn’t it have a nice sound? Echo just buries everyone else when it comes to blowers. They’re engines are literally the best 2cycles on the market. When you started it; did you see any blue smoke? I didn’t in the video. I think to save space and weight they should have a short and long runtime fuel tank. Why? The average home owner honestly doesn’t need that big of a fuel tank. Why have it in the way and carry the extra weight?

    • @GarageGear
      @GarageGear  9 місяців тому

      I have the 770 as well! Amazing machine! They sound amazing too! They build some of the best stuff! If they could bring that tank in a little bit they could really cut the overall weight down a little bit!

    I had the 755 ST when I had an acre yard with lots of trees, it was a huge step up from a handheld blower...sold it when I moved to a smaller place, it was total overkill for cleaning grass clippings off the driveway but shined moving piles of leaves. I bought another handheld, not liking it may get this model to replace it.

    New subscriber. First time seeing your content. This is a great review; a great blend of getting to the point, covering all the features/specs, and giving personal pros and cons of the unit. I was debating between this and the Husqvarna 350BT. The Husqvarna is just so loud, and I had no idea about the Echo's vented back. That's a life safer in the Florida summers.

      I have the blower from this video and the Echo ES-250 Shred n Vac. The ES-250 is a competent handheld blower, and it converts into a pretty decent vacuum that claims on the box to shred at a 12:1 ratio. I think I want to try and jimmy up a rolling garbage can that I can vac into directly as the bag can get a bit heavy when leaves are wet, and it's really dusty when they are dry, but it does work. Just be careful as while the mulching blades are steel and robust, the impeller is plastic and rocks will chip it. I now only use it as a small vacuum to pick stuff up where it's hard to get into with the bulky backpack, and where my lawn vacuum can't reach.

    Great review! What’s the quietest model? 4 stroke?

    • @GarageGear
      @GarageGear  9 місяців тому

      Thanks Mike! For a 4 stroke I’ll have to look into that. Echo does make some quieter 2 stroke model I know.

    What is your opinion on using Tru Fuel instead of gas?

    • @GarageGear
      @GarageGear  7 місяців тому +1

      I used to use it in all my machines but then heard it restricts some power. Chickanic did some videos on this on UA-cam. I now use ethanol free fuel with echo red armor. Everything runs even better now. 👍
