Beautiful beautiful... Todd’s music has such fluidity, poetry, and truth. It’s an intimate feeling listening to him, as though he’s having a conversation with just you. Only the very best musicians can make this connection, Todd does it effortlessly.
I bought this album in Chapters in Dublin almost 20 years ago because the cover looked interesting. I'd never heard of Todd Rundgren and kept the cd for years without listening to it. One evening I opened the cd player and couldn't think of anything I wanted to hear. There was a hum in the speakers waiting for the music to start but my head was empty. I started flicking through cds for inspiration and then this handprint caught my eye again. What a revelation, I have loved this album and this song since then. Thanks for putting it on YT.
Todd is the best! He is nominated for the 2020 R&R Hall Of Fame and he deserves to be in there! You can vote for him daily until Jan.10/20. New this year, to cast a ballot in the official Klipsch Audio Fan Vote, you can search “Rock Hall Fan Vote” or the word “Vote” with any Nominee name on Google to cast your ballot.
@@frankguitarharrison I agree. Part of the wonderfulness of the lyrics is the fluid gender of God. IMO if Todd wrote it these days he would use "their arms" on the final verse to further expand (and negate) the gender of God.
It doesn't get much deeper than this. Emotionally, philosophically, etc. Every level. HAIL TODD!
That boy can sing.
Todd is one my my very favorite lyricist, musician , hell he is all to me. Truly one of the all time greats!
One of the most underacknowledged musicians of all time.
absolutely!
Lean in a little closer and i'll tell you what i'm thinking..... Beautiful .
This song hits me everytime...what a masterpiece, what a message.. Todd is god!

Wow, Deep. Thanks Todd.
I have my phone set to play the Toddify playlist on Spotify in the morning... this came on today. :)
His soul is so deep!
Beautiful ! Amazing vocals and production !
Recorded live in front of an audience too...This album and 2nd Wind.
Just incredible.
Todd is Daryl Hall on steroids.....that Philly sound taken to the heights of gospel....this is too beautiful for words....so just listen_
When he is no longer with us music will become dead too.
Toddzilla knocks over another pagoda crash boom slam like that bridge
The 2nd to last line is “…it’s arms” not his
1st time -“ His Arms “ 2x - “ Her Arms “ 3x - “ His Arms”

Verse 3 is " it's arms " Jesus, listen 😊😊😊😊😊😊
TODD IS GOD.
Bit of a choir song.❤
He is Godd. Hands Down.
Trust me it's not his 3rd verse 😂 he and she , human , it's arms referring to a deity 😊 that is the way he thinks 🍺🍺🎸🎸🎤🎤🥁🥁🥁🎼🎼🎼
Steven would have been proud.
