This was our song. I used to listen to it on the drives from taking her home. She lived on a farm. We married the day after I graduated from college. We had two kids and were together for 30 years. The divorce was final on our 25th wedding anniversary. Also our daughter's birthday. I now have two more kids 13 and 16 and this wife is moving out soon. Its been over awhile now. If stupidity was money Bill Gates would borrow from me. But at 65 I have good health, decent retirement income and two kids to still raise awhile. If you love someone never say never. Things change. Life can change you. Love is forever in our hearts and minds but it takes strength to maintain it..........But the song Lucky man does define my life. I have been lucky in so many ways...........I just got in the way.
I'm sorry man..... your story. But hey! We all make mistakes through life and you got 4 kids and hopefully your in good with all of them and likely they'll bless you with plenty grand kids. Your blessed with good health with plenty years to be a great grandpa, and you'll never quite walk alone during your golden years. You got so much to share with grand kids that they can learn from you, like Todd Rundgren's music and alike from back in the day. They will fondly remember you for that. Get yourself a couple puppies while your still young enough. You'll be surprised what great company they can be.
@@johnbranham9941 Its all good. I was single for about a week and then #3 showed up. Well, not really as we have known each other for 50 years. She was my best friend' s girl in HS. Im in a really good place. And almost always have been. Still raising two teens but the boy is 18 and graduating HS in about 3 months. Rundgren's song always struck me as an anthem to kindness , empathy but free will. That life is not always gonna take a straight path. I always thought mine would but then I was shocked by things.
It really is. I don't know why, but it is so perfect. It feels me with deep emotions every time I hear it. My first Todd song. He is an integral part of me. My voice melds with his on many songs and especially this one. I wish I could see him one more time!!!!!
I'm 65 and grew up with this and the greatest era of music. I'm saddened that there isn't anything created today with soul and feelings. Authentic music with sound waves created by strings or skins...instead with computers and digital programs...auto tuned voices...garbage. But we still can enjoy the archives with great tunes like this. Peace.
Lots of music being created today with soul and feeling. Lots of great new should music being made all the time. You just have to find it. Anderson Paak, Erykah Badu, Hiatus Kayote, I could go on. plenty of strings and skins to be had. off Anderson's very soulful album Malibu ua-cam.com/video/pK2-XuLByuQ/v-deo.html

Not easy being a sensitive person in this world...makes my heart overflow and my eyes well up every time .. how can so much emotion be stored into one little song!? Just the opening chords alone are so beautiful gentle and strong...
I met Andrea June 11,1971. Hello It’s Me released February 1,1972. First real girlfriend,Andrea. Broke up @ Tufts University as freshmen; after Neil Young concert @ Boston Music Hall January 20,1973. Briefly united on 21st birthday October 20,1974. Todd’s lyrics, melody & arrangement had me mesmerized. I bargained with two sophomore roommates to play Hello It’s Me Friday night on their turntable & stereo system as many consecutive times as my 28 gram bag of pot/herb/weed would last. Haha🤡
I am sure your brother Greg would be with you if he could... I am going to claim this song as a beautiful "Hello" from him, wherever you are today. Isn't it amazing that this is what he left you? Blessings to you, Greg's beautiful sister.
I listened to this album over and over as a kid. One of my absolute favorite songs - beautiful melody and inspiring lyrics about true love. Do not know how many times I have listened to it but it has to be several hundred. (I am 63. So, I have decades to listen. Ha.
This is one of the songs I remember listening to on my portable radio while laying in bed when I was a kid in the mid seventies. I used to fall asleep to the endless stream of great music coming in from all over. I loved spinning the dial in the dark, until I found something cool. Late at night, the a.m. stations got me stations from other countries talking exotic languages. Great memories.
Beautiful song ❤I still feel that way after all these years Todd has great music it was all great back then ❤️ . I just so lucky thati got to be a big partl❤🎉
8/28/24 found this song today at the end of an episode of That 70’s Show (a show that premiered and my friends and I watched in high school c/o ‘01) and it the lyrics got me thinking! Hope everyone reading this is well and appreciating the present day and cherishing what you have!
Love the song I was 15 years old in San Francisco. I was dating Wayne McKee. He was a good looking guy and ran track. We had to leave Hunters Point Naval Base. I knew I would never see him again. But this song brings back the memories from days gone bye! Still one my favorite songs from that time in the 70s.❤
This is my favorite song. I memorized the lyrics. i would sing it over and over in the car with my daughter. She must have thought I was crazy. We always smile when we play it now. It is our song. The words are so amazing to sing. It is a masterpiece!
This is a reminder to hold on to those precious moments. If in doubt think twice before you leave. We tend to relive the past again, again and again, unless a lesson is learned .SAD but true for everyone that regrets.❤🌹😇This song is beautifully done.

this song reminds me of my dad, in the best way possible. one day in the car we were listening to this song looking at the album cover and he told me "i don't if i'm getting older, but the more time passes the more i start finding the beauty in the little things. look at those flowers, aren't they just beautiful?" i tried so hard not to cry cause isn't that just the truest thing ever?
Remember the time when music was music.
So true.. amen..

Hello, it's me
I've thought about us for a long, long time
Maybe I think too much but something's wrong
There's something here that doesn't last too long
Maybe I shouldn't think of you as mine
Seeing you, or seeing anything as much as I do you
I take for granted that you're always there
I take for granted that you just don't care
Sometimes I can't help seeing all the way through
It's important to me
That you know you are free
'Cause I never want to make you change for me
Think of me
You know that I'd be with you if I could
I'll come around to see you once in a while
Or if I ever need a reason to smile
And spend the night if you think I should
It's important to me
That you know you are free
'Cause I never want to make you change for me
Think of me
You know that I'd be with you if I could
I'll come around to see you once in a while
Or if I ever need a reason to smile
And spend the night if you think I should
How did you do the whole lyrics 😮
