  • Hi all,
You asked and I answered. I finally got to a quilt where I was going to load in Clear View and I decided to film the process for you all. Sorry the video is long, I added some other tips along the way. I also created a video for the process with Red Snappers but it will come out later, I need to do some more edits on it. If you haven't watched last weeks video and have no clue what Clear View is, go back and watch that, I will link it below. It discusses the differences between the two loading styles. I tend to stay in Standard View most of the time but I knew this was going to be a very ruler heavy quilt, so Clear View it is. In Clear View, you get more work space and don't have to fight with the top bar getting in the way of the rulers. I just love that you can switch back and forth between the two with ease!
As always, thanks for watching and remember
AT THE END OF THE DAY, IT'S JUST QUILTING!

Thanks, Adam, for coming up with the burrito method for Clear View. I have an Amara and load CV 99% of the time because it gives me a bit more quilting space. Your videos are always so helpful and your delivery is SO fun. Who’s a fan girl??? ME!

I know this is a year-old post but WOW. Love your instruction. I just got my HQ Amara and loaded my first quilt -- but your methods is so good and your instructions are so clear. Thanks for your tutorials.

I did it... but it is a huge 104 x 104 quilt with a 10" border. The backing went on great (not much room on a 10' frame). The top was going good until the borders got all floppy. You said to use backing to take up the slack... HOW? The whole sides or just in places?

Question: When you roll the quilt top up on the roll initially what keeps the seams from shifting either open or closed with all the friction you are creating as you roll? Love love love your videos. Binged watched about 5 last night.

Great job. This will help me. Can you tell how the leaders go on the bar and wrap which direction? I think mine is wrong for this method and have that ugly bulk line. I enjoy your videos and appreciate your time making them.

I talk about it in the Standard View vs Clear View video that came out last week. One of the leaders is flipped, so both of the leaders will cascade away from you in clear view.

Adam, would you address a tip to check the tautness of the loaded quilt before you start quilting please 🤗

It's a bit like everything else, everyone has their own likes. I tend to pull my tops too tight. It can lead to issues (tension, thread breaks) if the top is too tight. I was told it shouldn't bounce a dime and I used to toss a dime on it every time. Look at your idle bar, if it's bending, it's too tight. Loosen the back gear about two clicks.

What is the advantage of this method?. Or is it just another way to load .

It’s just another way to load but the benefit is not having to bend over your bars from the front. There’s no wrestling with anything, every step keeps your hands free and posture correct.
