  • Hi all,
You asked and asked and I finally answered. Today in the Busting up Borders series, we are FINALLY doing CHUNKING. I don't usually do it this way because it takes up too much time for me and I feel like I can get faster, better results when I turn my quilts. That being said, turning the quilt is not always an option. This series will show 3 different ways to do the borders and how to stitch an E2E in the middle of borders. Make sure to subscribe to the channel and hit the bell icon, so you don't miss any of the new videos coming your way. Check back next week when we do borders using cornerstones.
    Thanks for watching,
    Adam
AT THE END OF THE DAY, IT'S JUST QUILTING!!

This was a great video as I've always wanted to be able to chunk borders if the quilt needed that. I've never turned a quilt so am ready to see that done. Thank you!

"Tiny Tots Buddy Bear" by Michael Miller. I couldn't handle not knowing, so Google images to the rescue. Thank you SO much for this video and explaining "chunking the border".

Adam these videos are great. My wife and I are doing our first border quilt. I'm stuck on how you leave 1/4" on the border unstitched. Or shouldnt we care. May thanks for all your help

If you want that 1/4 inch on the outside border, when creating your area, put the edge of your foot at the side of the quilt. This will give you a 1/4 inch buffer from the outside. I do this most of the time.

Adam, thanks a lot, this is a much easier method than I have been using, they look the same but I’m always looking for time savers. Question, I have not done my last upgrade, I am a little afraid I might baseline, because I always look to the black dots to be sure I have baseline, your thoughts on the advantage in the upgrade.
