To your point about the hype I think the break in this season has hurt it and I know I've seen a lot of love for the show, but hate for the break up of the season. I think they should think about not doing that going forward.

People are saying its mid, but the ending was REALLY important to show another change that happens in Mark.
To me, it's mid because I know what's coming; more exciting stuff like the Conquest and the Viltrumite War!
I almost always find finales lackluster but I actually like this one for once. Guess that's why others think its mid lol
I think there's a need for instant gratification from these people and I'm just glad said people don't write for tv. It's inherently short sighted.

I have the utmost respect for Mark's mother. She fought like a mother fucker. And when her arm was shattered, what was the first thing she did? Tried to help Oliver. Telling him she was okay and desperately trying to stop him from being scared. The child her husband had after he left her, and she fucking fought like hell unleashed to protect him.
If you trace it back, this whole damn dimension is just plain better than the others, and it's all because of Debbie.
I’m so happy that Kate didn’t actually die, she and Immortal have done more than enough to earn a retirement from the superhero life.
I’m happy for Kate (and the fact she had a smart backup plan) but I kind of wish the realism of losing friends and comrades in the hero business carried through the series. We haven’t seen any friends die since the first episode of the series, when they’ve been through multiple omega level disasters that would have tragically ended a hero’s life without Cecil’s magic medic squad. What are stakes when everyone has an indomitable healing factor and always eventually make it out the other side of a fight while the bad guys’ corpses pile up?

But if you want some mild comic spoilers of things that happened already in the show (differently) - then Shrinking Rae for example - doesnt survive this encounter in the comics. Keeping her alive is actually quite smart I feel. She can now be more interesting, developed a bit + can be more of a shock when she dies somewhere later down the line and there will be plenty of opportunities to die xD Kate and Rex happens exactly the same in the comics. It doesnt make their 'deaths' have less impact. They were on the brink of death, actually presumed dead, quite reasonably, after a fight with very low level villains. It only shows how fragile they are and how messed up they are gonna be when actual major threats start coming their way, like Viltrumites for example.

Big shocker, a huge portion of baby-brained viewers only got into this show for the blood and guts and so they find this finale mid. Those of us here for the story and the characters know this was maybe the best episode of the show so far

I think it's the best episode after the one of the fight between Mark and Nolan. Amazing adaptation

As someone who was raised by a single mother, I don’t think I would hold back either. I would still feel like hell afterwards though.
Mark’s got more restraint than me. As the son of a single mother, that guy was dead at minute one.
This episode absolutely wrecked me, holy shit. I really thought Angstrom was going to have a turn-around moment but he went way farther than I expected. Which makes sense, right? Dude was literally driven crazy with rage and trauma... it's... so damn tragic. Ultimately he does do some good, though. He's a lesson for Mark to learn from.
Also, I'm so glad Monster Girl and Rudy were finally able to be real with each other and admit that they're both horribly awkward and bad at communication. lol

What an amazing season finale!! This maybe one of the best comic book adaptations ever! The changes they have made make sense and even improves the overall story. Cant wait for S3, just hope we don't have to wait 2 years to get it.

@@daviddune7259 Imagine if every episode, every time they cut away to another story, that was it until the next episode. Every episode basically happens at the same time, give or take. Angstrom was introduced around the Flaxan invasion and the big fight he did in this episode occurred after Invincible's first Mars encounter. Robot was still growing his new body around this time.
@@daviddune7259 They've also added to characters that needed it like Donald. This show is how you adapt a comic book. It's faithful while also adding more depth to it's characters.
Can I just say like, Debbie is so fucking awesome? The way she stands up to this superpowered madman, actually gets a couple hits in on him too all to protect her family. She was fully willing to die for Oliver and Mark there, I love when writers can write a character like that that isn't just essentially a damsel in distress.
Sterling K Brown deserves an award for that voice acting that “i wanna do it myself” was INTENSE
For anyone wondering, it looks like Mark hit Angstrom with a weapon from Fortnight, which means fortnight is a canon universe in Invincible.

Robert Kirkman said in an interview he didn’t even try to get the rights to have Spidey show up bc of how much of a hassle it would’ve been to work out a deal between Disney and Sony. So he settled to make characters who emulated Spidey and Doc while technically being original characters and just getting Josh Keaton to voice Agent Spider. We all get the reference so it’s a fun way to still do the cameo without having to jump through the legal hoops lol
Goddamn what a finale, holy shit. As a guy who never read the comics, all of this is a huge reveals for me and i love it

This has been the most faithful covering of a source material I've ever seen. The fact they chose animation was a great one cause you can't get this level of destruction and such on a live action budget without it being a movie. There are literal comic panels and sentences in almost every scene that i can go and look back at my comic and go hey that crazy they replicated that 1:1. On top of this they've only added more depth to characters like Donald.
Please people support this. You have no idea how good the story is from here on. We have not even seen the craziest stuff yet.

Listening to you guys doing your review, I just realized in comparison to the time span that they take to create a season of invincible you could technically translate that into how long they take to make a sequel to a movie and scale to the Marvel universe for example, the effects and everything that they have to do and post production. It does take quite a while for one movie to come out after the other, especially if it’s a sequel or continuation, same thing with invincible. I know it takes a long time and everyone is going numb numb numb, we want more, but timewise. Yeah, it would take about two years for a season to come out, especially at the high-quality that it’s at.

For me, the long wait in between seasons and the 2 month break in season 2 were huge turnoffs.
But boy, did I enjoy what we did get. Quality over quantity.
Also, the reason why I'm not as excited is because having read the comics as the issues came out; I'm just waiting for Conquest, Thragg, and the Viltrumite War!

great reaction as usual boys. yeah, definitely an emotional roller coaster but great development on relationships/character. Mark just acknowledging that it was wrong and wanting to be better, it’s great to see the human in him release in that scene. It’s what makes him a hero. Adam is also 100% right with invincible just being everywhere 24/7 on Twitter for season 1. The hype and talks about it was insane. I didn’t know anything about invincible prior to season one’s release, so yeah i for sure remember the 24/7 discussions of it on Twitter. I personally think the hype for this one may not seem like the first season because people for some reason lost interest/hype for s2 when it got split and released now in 2024? I don’t understand that mindset at all because if anything that left me more hyped for the second part. I think that’s why I guess but all in all, awesome season. This season was everything from 1 but just elevated to 100. Now the waiting begins yet again but definitely excited for what’s next in s3 with conquest and the blue/black suit, the war arc.
The reason for less posts on social media is the mid-season break. 1st half of season 2 was wild on social media
This season was all about putting pieces on the chessboard. While itbwas a bit anticlimatic the setup for the next 3+ seasons they implied was incredible. As a comic reader they continue to up the quality ante

Hey guys, so I have four channels that I watch for reactions. Yours is one of them. Yours is the only one that I have seen so far where the blood is grayed out. Everyone else is the regular color red, but yours so far is the only one I’ve noticed, at least in this episode, where it is actually grade out, I don’t know if it’s you guys doing it or they’re doing it for you but I just found it very interesting. It caught me quickly when I saw it.
I saw one other channel with the blood being greyed or blacked out for this episode so far.
Hey guys, here’s an interesting fact I just double checked on the complete arc of invincible from beginning to end as 144 issues. The walking dead was complete from beginning to end 194 issues. I’m not the biggest current comic book reader I love Kirkman‘s work, but not familiar with his entire library, but these are like basically two really bigstories in his library, and I like the fact that walking dead had its fans just like invincible, has its niche fans as well

I think the wait between season 1 and 2 PLUS season 2 being split into two parts is mostly what has hurt the internet talk around Invincible. And now we have to wait again for the next season, i understand animation isn't easy and the quality of the show is what matters most, but I do think the wait times are mostly what has slowed down the internet hype for this great series.

I literally just finished issue 144. As soon as season 2 ended I just kept reading and reading I couldn’t stop. I think the first half of season 3 will be the Cecil arc and the last half will be the invincible war
@3:25. Holy crap I have not realized this until now I’ve watched a bunch of reactions to the episode from my favorite channels. You guys are one of them, and it just dawned on me right now that invincible all evil invincible knows Angstrom Levy, our mark has no idea who is Engstrom Levy. For the life of me I can’t think of a reference I comic book reference for this situation, but I did just hit me. I’ve seen this a bunch of times already and it just hit me every reality that Levi has gone to Mark evil. Mark has specifically pinpointed him. This is the only one that he has not had any interactions with whatsoever and it happens to be a good guy Mark.
I like how Adam and Augestyn are enjoying the show. Hector is sprouting nerd commentary the whole time. It's the world where the. meteor didn't hit etc

I’m not gonna spoil too much, but just so people know the Mark in the cape in the comics is known as “Sinister Mark.” Like Angstrom Levy said in almost all other universes Mark Grayson is an absolute piece of crap. But Sinister Mark… Sinister Mark is arguably the worst. All the other Mark Graysons to a degree still believe they are “doing the right thing” and are really just misguided in what they believe. But Sinister Mark is just straight up evil, and he knows it. He doesn’t do bad things because he thinks he has to, he does bad things because he WANTS to and enjoys watching people suffer. I won’t say anymore, but let me just tell you that when you learn the stuff he does it makes Nolan look like a Boy Scout.
This reminds of a story I created involving the existence of the multiverse.
Glad season 3 is on the way, if what Kirkman said in Inside Episode 8 is true.

The dino universe is the one where that asteroid missed the earth, so the Dinosaurs never died, and over time they evolved to talk. But humans evolved too from primates, but they never got to form their language because they never lived in large groups due to these dinos, before they were essentially wiped out completely. Humans becoming extinct is such a weird topic. Mark wasn't sent back in time as it seems initially.
this show is so incredible that I won't mind waiting 2 more years for season 3 if the quality is same or better than this one, I mean i cannot image how hard is to create this shows and they even said it last week, so artist take your time or Amazon please give a higher budget

I thought of another reason ads for this show can be wonky.....unlike Xmen 97 for example, Invincible is rated TV-MA which is the equivalent to a rated R movie. In other words, despite how amazing this show is, Xmen 97 can still be advertised to kids, teens at least. Can't really do that with Invincible however lol 😅

I know I know you guys read the comics and Agustin has the TPB but I as a fan of the animation show and not reading the comics quickly realized that that is not Rex although she calls him Rex that’s Rudy. I don’t know what the whole storyline with that is all about or where they are hinting atby definitely know that is not Rex. That is definitely Rudy.

I've been reading the comic. The show is definitely way more melodramatic. They both have their strengths and weaknesses but I think I prefer the comic. It's way more comic booky and I like Mark's competence and comic fandom. Him liking comics is an afterthought in the show. But the show is doing really well at remixing and condensing the storylines.
Watching Mark be so conflicted for the kill is great. He doesn't want to be his father, BUT what else was the ending in this situation?

I think everybody stopped talking about it because of that big break between ep4-5… I didn’t watch this season until they came back from break because I didn’t want to wait. Maybe thats why? I’m not totally sure. I haven’t been talking about it on socials but I have been watching!
I teared up like 3 times watching this episode. Yes, I've read the whole run. If you think this is mid, go read the comics. No one listens to X, the invincible subreddit is a fun time

Well the thing about people not talking about this season is because of the mid season break, completely killed the hype, any quality concerns aside, like for me i wasn't really enjoying how the story was going but how episode 4 ended was crazy, but that mid season break made me completely forget about the show
Amazon is upping their game with their superhero IPs. The Boys, Invincible and Gen V are all entertaining than most superhero series/movies that come out since 2019

I think Adam is right. I personally haven’t seen much hype either. It’s probably because of the gap release for this season. I understand they didn’t want to wait too long between season 1+2, but they probably should’ve waited till they had all 8 episodes in the bag before the new season started. It’s kind of a damned if you do damned if you don’t situation.
Everyone would be talking about it uf there wasn't a break. People are now hating amazon for putting a break inbetween like if you don't have the show just don't release it yet.
Why are you worrying about Armstrong Levy's fate when this episode is this is practically a beat for beat adaptation of the books written by Kirkman himself?

Releasing the episodes in two batches didn't help this season tbh, they really need to make sure the full season is ready to be released. i havent read the comics so all my knowledge is just from the series and you guys but this didn't feel like a season finale level episode. I just didn't get that same feeling you guys did when Mark broke loose and fought Angstrom. i really enjoy the show the most when rewatching it with you guys.
Do you guys think Omni mans character can be redeemed? In my opinion he honestly can even tho he killed so many people and did so many bad things. It comes down to whats your perspective on morality. Do you think morality is a universal thing? Good and evil? Are they also universal? What we consider good or evil on Earth can be completely different for a civilisation like Viltrumites. So basically looking at it from outside perspective and being completely neutral one can actually kinda understand his position. Especially his last conversation with Alen. You can actually feel remorse and pain in his voice. Man i cant wait for season 3.
Sorry, by the way, this has absolutely nothing to do with invincible, but I want to throw it out because I have I don’t have it. Unfortunately I wish I had the time to go join you guys on discord and stuff but they are going to drop every single episode of fallout when it comes out April 11, which blew my mind we will get the whole whole shebang in one shot which I think is crazy and I can’t wait
