Discovering just how good yet nerve wracking The Boys can be each season I guarantee you are in for a treat! It’s the rare adaptation that elevates and improves upon the source material. Very excited to see these reactions! I have read the comics and am up to date on the show. Much like other comic adapted to TV show series (such as Invincible and Preacher) there are a number of differences/tweaks/changes/modernization of the material. And it's great! I feel like Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy excelled at the same, where ever iteration in other mediums (radio, book, game, etc) certain story beats are expanded on or skipped entirely because each medium excels at different things. Also Douglas Adams wanted the story to feel fresh but familiar each time. I hope you all enjoy the series!
Well..looks like i'm restarting the Boys from episode 1 with these guys. Happens all the time with streamers. It helps to keep my memory jogged with the shows i like.

Yeah The Boys comic is definitely not mandatory for watching this show. The series manages to take some interesting ideas that were executed terribly 20 years ago and completely rework everything into a much better story and series. 3 seasons in Im still amazed at how the quality of the show continues to rise with each and every episode.
Strong agree. I actually loved the Preacher comic and was stoked for The Boys. But the comic didn’t age badly, it was just really bad from jump street, sadly. It’s phenomenally impressive they made a show this good from it (especially considering how the same exec producers botched the Preacher show).

Many people have agreed that the comic book is garbage compared to the tv series. I will say Starlight's assault is worst as she was gangr**ed by The Deep, A-Train and Homelander. Also, the showrunner is Eric Kripke, who's best known as the creator of Supernatural
If the show was just bloody to be bloody and brash (which it is) the show would have failed. Thankfully, the story and the characters are as well. Enjoy The Boys, boys!
I’m not sure if I have the capacity to be civil. But the first few seasons are great. As someone who wrote for GW I know how ones writings get bastardized.
I did not enjoy the comics at all but I love the show. My sentiment appears somewhat common from what I've heard from others who have read the comics and the show. I love Garth Ennis' writing for Punisher and Preacher, but I just didn't enjoy The Boys.
Read through the whole comic series after the first season. Wasn't bad, but definitely over the top edge lord chaos. The shows refrain from going as fucked up as the comics works in its favor. Almost too ridiculous at times.
