Something that I really appreciate with this show is that Mark tries to keep doing right both after suffering greatly and coming face-to-face with these darker aspects of himself. It feels very inspiring, and I am aware that comic properties have likely explored this with other IPs.
If you guys recall Nolan tells Mark that they had to get rid of the "weak" on Viltrum before the empire actually started. I think those "weak" viltrumites were the more compassionate ones, and then all that was left on Viltrum was a bunch of a-holes. Then that just became their culture. Also about the time travel thing: Our Atom Eve but older sent our Mark back in time before our Mark went insane. She was talking about the same Mark.

I like the double entendre with what Mark said. At first it sounds like he was questioning Angstrom’s durability, “I thought you were stronger.” But in reality he was questioning his self restraint in not giving in to his violent viltrumite side, “I thought you were stronger.”

LOL Suraj’s confusion with the time travel was funny. Here’s the 5 years old version explanation: 18 years old Mark is stuck in the desert dimension and his original world goes on without him for 20 years. In that time the guardians were looking for him, and 20 years later they finally found Mark, who is now 18+20 years old. He’s probably lost his mind by then, so the guardians decide to save him BEFORE he spends 20 years in the desert dimension and travel back in time to send 18 years old Mark home instead, hence correcting the timeline. Like when the Avengers did time travel back to 2012 New York to fix the events to Infinity War.
This also technically means that the 20 year older version of guardians of the globe would disintegrate or become non existent right? Because they aent him to the past which already changes the future? What I'm saying is that does the fact that older guardians sending mark back to the past changd their future or present does it make them non exisistent sort of like the cw flash version of time travel, OR does the time travel work like the avengers and mcu version of time travel where the timeline just branches out like a different universe
Mark was trapped in the other dimension for 20 years, during those 20 years the guardians were looking for the dimension that mark was trapped in and eventually found him, but that future mark had gone crazy because he was trapped for 20 years. so the future guardians that found him decided to instead go back 20 years to stop any of that from happening in the first place. Future mark is the same mark from our dimension but 20 years in the future not a different dimension mark.

If you prevent Mark from being stranded for 20 years, it literally erases that timeline including the Future Guardians that saved them. On paper that line just doesn't make sense so I feel like they're going to do something more with it in the future. Maybe, idk. I haven't read the comics so idk lol
the thing is Levy talk big shit, about how his body was changed to be stronger, and he was punching Mark with some level of super strenght, so he give Mark a wrong impression of how much he could take, and mark just hit him way to hard
Levy's issue is that he thought he could take on Mark but Mark always holds back in fights. However, when Mark gets serious, he can hit hard to even draw blood from other Viltrumite and there is no way in hell Levy is as durable as a Viltrumite lol
Mark basically gave him the Gon vs. Pitou treatment. I'd say Angstrom was pretty strong in that regard if he could take all those punches before actually dying.
the angstrom fighting invincible is from the same dimension weve been watching the whole time. he just has memories of all the other dimensions. so angstroms "home dimension" is the same as marks.
The scene with the tomb and the mummy is just a running gag on the show. I don’t think anything will come of it, its just there to be a continuing running joke on the show.

I love the "I thought you were stronger" quote because Mark wasn't just talking about Levy at first. The hidden meaning to it was towards himself as he realized he didn't have as much control over himself as he thought. He also is now seeing some things from omni-mans point of view such as telling himself he has no other choice, and for a quick moment blaming the person he was beating for beating them(Even if the senarios are different and Mark was "in the right" for this senario).
Damn, I didnt think of that. Now I get why he was so F´d up. He really told himself "he made me do it", just like when Omni man told him "Why did you make me do this?" Like he was rationalazing why he killed him. As Eve said, its not fair, he didnt deserve all that, but things are like they are.
In the Comics Mark and Peter had a long conversation and even introduced him to the Avenger, he even learned something from Peter that helped him how to become a good super hero. It's a shame we didn't get to see Spider Man because of Disney and Sony rights, it would have been cool to see him in the Invincible series but they did a good job on tuning a little with Agent-Spider's character design

After this episode, it's undeniable. Debbie is the strongest character in the show. She went through all of this and Season 1, and she's still has not been broken mentally. I'm willing to bet that we would all fold if we had to experience a fraction of she's been through.
What makes it sadder is that in a deeper level, it wasn’t just 1 person that mark killed. All those alternate version of Angstrom we saw had their worst fear fulfilled, being killed by invincible, and it was the one version of him that didn’t want to
I think Mark needed that training a year ago. Hes been in denial about thinking he can have a normal life since his dad left. His loved ones have been held hostage with a neck hold twice. Both times they warned Mark not to try anything, and he accepted that he wasnt fast enough. He needs to increase his speed drastically. He needs to be able to save them in a split second.I dont care if he needs to be built a gravity chamber....DO SOMETHING

They met old Mark twenty years from then. They went back in time and changed things by sending him home. Now everything happens differently. This either means that future vanishes or it sticks around as its own universe.

Found OUR Mark then sent him back. The thing that is wrong is that the 20+ year GoG would still have their timeline. Its just the "Invincible is gone" timeline.

You are considering Nolan like someone who is raised in the earth. But you should also consider where he comes from when judging his actions and what he became. Levy didn't just inherit memories, he also inherited all the emotions which are mostly based on the pain caused by alternatives Invincibles.
Idk If anyone notice but when Angstrom Levy mentioned to Debbie that It was his first time meeting Oliver. It clicked to me that Oliver was only born because of this good sided Mark since Nolan went to Thraxa. Damn that’s crazy, so this Is the ONLY good Mark/Invincible.
I feel people often misunderstand that line. It's still messed up and wrong to say, and Debbie doesnt deserve to hear it. But he wasnt saying pet as in "slave" that i keep around. But just like with a pet you can love them more than the world itself, it wont change that they are a simpler creature that you'll still outlive.
To me, that line (and all his fight with Mark tbh) was Nolan trying to rationalize his feelings. He was in conflict, believing he should be loyal to the empire and unwilling to accept that he had feelings and care for "lesser beings". So he tried to rationalize it, saying that those feelings were like the ones of an owner to a pet, when actually he loved Debbie, but couldn't admit it, especially to himself.
Another thing that Mark has going for him being part human (they touch on this in the comics) is he has access to adrenaline, an extremely useful chemical in the body's fight/flight response for survival which gives him an edge in combat whenever he gets super triggered like when someone threatens his mom and bro.

I've just been told by other comic book readers that adrenaline gives him a fighting edge over a particularly powerful viltrumite in the future. I won't say who though.
Btw, I agree, Debbie is the GOAT! She's the real hero who saved Earth by raising Mark--and to a lesser extent, "raising" Nolan--to have compassion. In 20 years, she broke THOUSANDS of years of Viltrumite conditioning on Nolan. Debbie is Viltrumite enemy #1. Chris, good question. The 0 was a simple way for the show to reinforce this was the original Dupli-Kate with less dialogue. Also, the show is notorious about showing characters in the EXACT SAME OUTFITS: Mark in sweater an untucked shirt, Debbie in same skirt suit, Amber in same 3-color sweater, Rex had to be literally shot in the head to take off his Rex Splode costume, Rudy and Monster Girl each wear the same civilian outfits, Immortal had to go on leave to change outfits and except Eve, the rest are always in their supersuits. Agent Spider (according to credits) was a nice way to get the Spider-Man cameo and a cool design.

Sure, but wouldn't exactly use Vegeta as the best example due to his redemption is more rocky. I give Omni Man more of a chance due to him having regret and his conscience coming in, whereas Vegeta by and large did not only until the tail end of Z for other people that he had killed during his majin phase and the Super manga only then finally acknowledged what he did to that Namekian village that didn't get revived in him finally making amends for that. Always been more of a Piccolo fan for a reason as yeah Vegeta wasn't intended to come back after Namek (which was said and that the editor managed to sway the author) and it really does show to the detriment of both Bulma and Yamcha that the latter is then retcon to being this cheater when the og contradicts this completely.

Invincible said he wanted to kill him, but he thought he was stronger. So even if he wasn't going all out, he was trying but thought Angstrom could take it.
The Multiverse is the idea that there is an infinite number of branching parallel timelines, aka dimensions. Each dimension has a universe where events happen differently in big ways or small ways. It took 20 years (the year 2044) for the Guardians to find the dimension that had Mark, who was around 38 years old (he was a freshman in college so he was around 18 or 19 plus 20 years--samr as Eve). 20 years of isolation was ... Not good. So, having found the dimension Mark was in they then took a time machine to travel 20 years backwards from 2044 back to 2024 (as opposed to 2023 to tell warn Mark about Angstrom's machine or 2022 to warn everyone about Omni man ... anyways ...) to get 18/19 year old Mark before he cracked further. Btw, either they disappear because they've changed their own timeline or they've created a new branching timeline (depending on how the writers write the time travel / multiverse rules).
In the comics they ACTUALLY had Spiderman and Doc Ock there. There's also Mark making a vaguely racist joke towards Luke Cage ("SpiderMAN, iron MAN, spider WOMAN... WHO ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO BE? BLACK MAN?)
yes, the web attached to the back of mark Is from the end of the comic where Spiderman wanted to follow mark but the portal closed. the batman scene is also a reference to the spiderman x invincible comic with the jokes on the name "you're dressed as a spider and you're a man and your name is spiderman? kinda lazy.
There was a crossover comic with Spider-Man and Invincible where Mark straight up went on a side adventure with Spider-man, even meeting the Avengers, all while his mum and brother is in a hostage situation

suraj is confused because he's not separating multiverse from timeline verse. the future guardians of the globe from his dimension looked for marc for 20 years, when they found the Dimension he was in they didnt like what they saw. so they traveled back 20 years to when marc first got to that dimension and sent him back to his dimension 20 years in the past from their dimension. they are from the same dimension but different timeline, they just traveled to that other dimension in a different timeline, then traveled back in time found marc and sent him back to his dimension within that timeline. i wish i could draw a picture lol
When a separate timeline is made, the only way you re-attach it is to erase either the events that led up to the new timeline, which means they erased themselves from the original timeline.
So a couple things The line I thought you were stronger can be taken in two ways: either as him literally saying that he thought he was strong enough to withstand the barrage of attacks that Mark delivered, or Mark could be talking to himself and saying I thought you were stronger than this, implying that he thought he was strong enough not to kill someone or become just like his dad. And second in the actual comics that really is Spider-Man fighting Doc Ock Invincible actually helps him and stays in the universe for a while because of the time dilation between the portals he actually meets the Avengers too, and the voice actor for the Spider-Man character in this episode is Josh Keaton the same guy that voices Black Spider in Young Justice, which he is a prominent voice actor for Spider-Man in some of the cartoons like Spectacular Spider-Man who had a cameo into the Spider-verse.

“I thought you were stronger” has two meanings. One that Angstrom wasn’t as strong as he said, and two that Mark thought he was stronger than his Viltrumite instinct to kill.
I really can’t state strongly enough how much I appreciate the nuance in the storytelling this season. SO MANY SHOWS would simply have Mark kill Angstrom and feel NOTHING about it. This showed us both sides in a REALLY convincing manor and present it in a layered way that shows how Angstrom is a victim in completely different aspect. Like you totally understand WHY mark went so far and support protecting his family but 2 things can be true at once, and he DID take it too far and lost control. I’m so happy it started with him TRYING to justify it like his dad would but then realize that those are EXCUSES and he messed up. Angstrom was super easy to feel sympathy for even tho he was doing horribly things because ANYBODY that went through the truama of mark REPEATEDLY and horrifically killing him and his loved ones like that would be JUST as unhinged at Mark. Like no excuse for his behavior but I GET IT, dude was LITERALLY seeing Mark KILL his wife and children in other dimensions SIMULTANEOUSLY. It’s a super F’d up situation all around with NO WINNERS. And honestly it REALLY puts into context for Mark and his mom how rare it is they CHOSE love and peace In this universe. And how they Gotta protect that kindness😭🙌
So the way it worked was the guardians were updated by Cecil when he saved Debbie and in the span of 20 years they had to discover inter dimensional travel and find which dimension mark was in. While they were going through dimension portals it was all in the same location in the galaxy (meaning earth) just different versions of earth. They eventually found mark but he’d been alone for 20 years likely lost his mind and was in no shape to help the guardians with what they were facing but robot mentions they had 3 time machines confiscated from villains by them so when they found the dimension they just had to travel back in time to save mark from insanity and send him back home to erase their timeline in hopes of a better one with mark back home this time around
My girl Debbie be going through it for real! First, your husband lied about his mission, almost kills y’all son, calls you his “pet”, then you find out that he had a whole other family, then you end up taking care of the side baby because he went to prison & his mama is dying, and now a crazy man with a big ass brain-back breaks in your house tortures you and the kids.
This little angstrom levy arc in the comics felt much longer but i’m happy with how their pacing it because there’s so much more good shit to get into and i don’t wana wait until 2028. I hope they don’t shorten like any other “events” in the series, especially the invincible war.
The first kill Mark has in the series is just as important in the comics. It shows that he can’t just keep not hurting his enemies if it means his loved ones will be the ones to suffer. It’s a bit sad because Mark is embracing his more Viltrumite side in killing others, but the key difference is his motives. He wasn’t even trying to kill Levy here, he was probably trying to seriously incapacitate or borderline cripple for hurting Debbie and Oliver, since Mark was so shocked when Levy died. As much as killing someone damages your psyche and makes you rethink everything if you’re a good person, unfortunately it’s a necessary responsibility for someone with powers like Mark.
I’mma try to explain the time stuff so what I think the older guardians dialogue was implying is that there are 2 universes… the one mark is stuck on and the the original universe that takes place in the show. In the original universe, mark disappears for 20 years while the guardians look for him. We don’t see none of this and the universe mark is in, is on the same timeline as the original universe. So those 20 years the guardians spent looking for mark, he was just sitting there waiting for them to find him. They went through the multiverse to find which universe mark is in first so once they found mark, his time passed same way it did with the older guardians, he was stranded and probably deranged from starvation. this is the mark we just witnessed kill angstrom. So the other mark is just the other mark, he’s are mark after 20 years but we just don’t see anything and honestly it’s more my speculation since they’re so vague about it.
what I don't get is that Robot said "thought we wouldn't tell him anything or it might affect the timeline" however surely going back and bringing him back 20 years early is already disrupting the time stream ?

But he's also talking to himself, because he let his rage take over to the point of killing someone. Also, I wonder what happened with Nolan and Allen in the timeline where Mark disappeared. I assume the plan is to breakout relatively soon, and I would think if they do, in the 20 ish years that passed, the Viltrumites would've tried conquering Earth again. Were they able to stop them with the combined efforts of Nolan, Alan, and the Guardians, or did they end up dead, and the Viltrumites decided that Earth wasn't worth the effort? I assume Rudy is dead, since he isn't there, and Rex is wearing armor based on him, so maybe he died in the battle.
@Thenormies , Suraj, Here's the explanation. Eve and the others find Mark 20 years later after he disappeared. They see that he's old and probably crazy from being ALONE 20 YEARS. So Eve and the others time travel 20 years earlier to rescue Mark the moment HE WENT MISSING. Hope that explains it.
Nolan called Debbie insignificant, called her a pet, Beat his son a kick away from death, Killed thousands of innocent people, Married a blue mantis, Made a kid with some else other than Debbie, Threatened to burn earth down, He hopes Debbie forgives him, really. Also noticed that Debbie, mark, and Nolan all three end up with a right black eye.
1:20 you have to remember he’s holding back and he’s only 18 all these other viltrumites are WAY older than him. and you get stronger as you get older as viltrumite. He’s the strongest hero on earth but ofc he pales to most viltrimites
From a human perspective it seems like Nolan has subjected Earth to an unredeemable amount of carnage and destruction, but from a viltramites perspective, if Nolan truly didn't care about the planet then every human being would already be dead, they are ants in comparison to him. This is also why Mark fears his abilities and yearns for control because he could accidently kill millions with not much effort at all, he's not just a loaded gun, he's a loaded nuke and that makes him extremely dangerous to every human, his mom included, if he can't control himself properly.
"Is it over yet?" Oh Debbie.. if you only know how much worse things will get for our boy Mark here.. this is just the beginning of his emotional journey.
There might have been a ton of answers in this finale but the implications of killing Angstrom and the future guardians are really interesting and scary.

Here’s the 5 years old version explanation: 18 years old Mark is stuck in the desert dimension and his original world goes on without him for 20 years. In that time the guardians were looking for him, and 20 years later they finally found Mark, who is now 18+20 years old. He’s probably lost his mind by then, so the guardians decide to save him BEFORE he spends 20 years in the desert dimension and travel back in time to send 18 years old Mark home instead, hence correcting the timeline. Like when the Avengers did time travel back to 2012 New York to fix the events to Infinity War.

Future mark is the same mark from our dimension but 20 years in the future not a different dimension mark.

I love the "I thought you were stronger" quote because Mark wasn't just talking about Levy at first. The hidden meaning to it was towards himself as he realized he didn't have as much control over himself as he thought. He also is now seeing some things from omni-mans point of view such as telling himself he has no other choice, and for a quick moment blaming the person he was beating for beating them(Even if the senarios are different and Mark was "in the right" for this senario).
Damn, I didnt think of that. Now I get why he was so F´d up. He really told himself "he made me do it", just like when Omni man told him "Why did you make me do this?" Like he was rationalazing why he killed him. As Eve said, its not fair, he didnt deserve all that, but things are like they are.
In the Comics Mark and Peter had a long conversation and even introduced him to the Avenger, he even learned something from Peter that helped him how to become a good super hero.

After this episode, it's undeniable. Debbie is the strongest character in the show. She went through all of this and Season 1, and she's still has not been broken mentally. I'm willing to bet that we would all fold if we had to experience a fraction of she's been through.

I feel people often misunderstand that line. It's still messed up and wrong to say, and Debbie doesnt deserve to hear it. But he wasnt saying pet as in "slave" that i keep around. But just like with a pet you can love them more than the world itself, it wont change that they are a simpler creature that you'll still outlive.
To me, that line (and all his fight with Mark tbh) was Nolan trying to rationalize his feelings. He was in conflict, believing he should be loyal to the empire and unwilling to accept that he had feelings and care for "lesser beings". So he tried to rationalize it, saying that those feelings were like the ones of an owner to a pet, when actually he loved Debbie, but couldn't admit it, especially to himself.
Another thing that Mark has going for him being part human (they touch on this in the comics) is he has access to adrenaline, an extremely useful chemical in the body's fight/flight response for survival which gives him an edge in combat whenever he gets super triggered like when someone threatens his mom and bro.
Wouldn't Viltrumites have that too tho?

Chris, good question. The 0 was a simple way for the show to reinforce this was the original Dupli-Kate with less dialogue. Also, the show is notorious about showing characters in the EXACT SAME OUTFITS: Mark in sweater an untucked shirt, Debbie in same skirt suit, Amber in same 3-color sweater, Rex had to be literally shot in the head to take off his Rex Splode costume, Rudy and Monster Girl each wear the same civilian outfits, Immortal had to go on leave to change outfits and except Eve, the rest are always in their supersuits.
Agent Spider (according to credits) was a nice way to get the Spider-Man cameo and a cool design.

Sure, but wouldn't exactly use Vegeta as the best example due to his redemption is more rocky. I give Omni Man more of a chance due to him having regret and his conscience coming in, whereas Vegeta by and large did not only until the tail end of Z for other people that he had killed during his majin phase and the Super manga only then finally acknowledged what he did to that Namekian village that didn't get revived in him finally making amends for that. Always been more of a Piccolo fan for a reason as yeah Vegeta wasn't intended to come back after Namek (which was said and that the editor managed to sway the author) and it really does show to the detriment of both Bulma and Yamcha that the latter is then retcon to being this cheater when the og contradicts this completely.

The Multiverse is the idea that there is an infinite number of branching parallel timelines, aka dimensions. Each dimension has a universe where events happen differently in big ways or small ways.
It took 20 years (the year 2044) for the Guardians to find the dimension that had Mark, who was around 38 years old (he was a freshman in college so he was around 18 or 19 plus 20 years--samr as Eve). 20 years of isolation was ... Not good.
So, having found the dimension Mark was in they then took a time machine to travel 20 years backwards from 2044 back to 2024 (as opposed to 2023 to tell warn Mark about Angstrom's machine or 2022 to warn everyone about Omni man ... anyways ...) to get 18/19 year old Mark before he cracked further.
Btw, either they disappear because they've changed their own timeline or they've created a new branching timeline (depending on how the writers write the time travel / multiverse rules).

suraj is confused because he's not separating multiverse from timeline verse. the future guardians of the globe from his dimension looked for marc for 20 years, when they found the Dimension he was in they didnt like what they saw. so they traveled back 20 years to when marc first got to that dimension and sent him back to his dimension 20 years in the past from their dimension. they are from the same dimension but different timeline, they just traveled to that other dimension in a different timeline, then traveled back in time found marc and sent him back to his dimension within that timeline. i wish i could draw a picture lol

When a separate timeline is made, the only way you re-attach it is to erase either the events that led up to the new timeline, which means they erased themselves from the original timeline.
So a couple things The line I thought you were stronger can be taken in two ways: either as him literally saying that he thought he was strong enough to withstand the barrage of attacks that Mark delivered, or Mark could be talking to himself and saying I thought you were stronger than this, implying that he thought he was strong enough not to kill someone or become just like his dad. And second in the actual comics that really is Spider-Man fighting Doc Ock Invincible actually helps him and stays in the universe for a while because of the time dilation between the portals he actually meets the Avengers too, and the voice actor for the Spider-Man character in this episode is Josh Keaton the same guy that voices Black Spider in Young Justice, which he is a prominent voice actor for Spider-Man in some of the cartoons like Spectacular Spider-Man who had a cameo into the Spider-verse.
You guys kinda missed that when saying "I thought you were stronger..." he was also talking to himself. He made a point against Anissa that he doesn't kill, unlike his father or the other Viltrumites. Here he proved that he doesn't have the moral strength and mastery to avoid killing like he thought he did.

“I thought you were stronger” has two meanings. One that Angstrom wasn’t as strong as he said, and two that Mark thought he was stronger than his Viltrumite instinct to kill.
I really can’t state strongly enough how much I appreciate the nuance in the storytelling this season. SO MANY SHOWS would simply have Mark kill Angstrom and feel NOTHING about it. This showed us both sides in a REALLY convincing manor and present it in a layered way that shows how Angstrom is a victim in completely different aspect. Like you totally understand WHY mark went so far and support protecting his family but 2 things can be true at once, and he DID take it too far and lost control. I’m so happy it started with him TRYING to justify it like his dad would but then realize that those are EXCUSES and he messed up.
Angstrom was super easy to feel sympathy for even tho he was doing horribly things because ANYBODY that went through the truama of mark REPEATEDLY and horrifically killing him and his loved ones like that would be JUST as unhinged at Mark. Like no excuse for his behavior but I GET IT, dude was LITERALLY seeing Mark KILL his wife and children in other dimensions SIMULTANEOUSLY. It’s a super F’d up situation all around with NO WINNERS. And honestly it REALLY puts into context for Mark and his mom how rare it is they CHOSE love and peace In this universe. And how they Gotta protect that kindness😭🙌
So the way it worked was the guardians were updated by Cecil when he saved Debbie and in the span of 20 years they had to discover inter dimensional travel and find which dimension mark was in. While they were going through dimension portals it was all in the same location in the galaxy (meaning earth) just different versions of earth. They eventually found mark but he’d been alone for 20 years likely lost his mind and was in no shape to help the guardians with what they were facing but robot mentions they had 3 time machines confiscated from villains by them so when they found the dimension they just had to travel back in time to save mark from insanity and send him back home to erase their timeline in hopes of a better one with mark back home this time around

This little angstrom levy arc in the comics felt much longer but i’m happy with how their pacing it because there’s so much more good shit to get into and i don’t wana wait until 2028. I hope they don’t shorten like any other “events” in the series, especially the invincible war.
The first kill Mark has in the series is just as important in the comics. It shows that he can’t just keep not hurting his enemies if it means his loved ones will be the ones to suffer. It’s a bit sad because Mark is embracing his more Viltrumite side in killing others, but the key difference is his motives. He wasn’t even trying to kill Levy here, he was probably trying to seriously incapacitate or borderline cripple for hurting Debbie and Oliver, since Mark was so shocked when Levy died. As much as killing someone damages your psyche and makes you rethink everything if you’re a good person, unfortunately it’s a necessary responsibility for someone with powers like Mark.

I’mma try to explain the time stuff so what I think the older guardians dialogue was implying is that there are 2 universes… the one mark is stuck on and the the original universe that takes place in the show. In the original universe, mark disappears for 20 years while the guardians look for him. We don’t see none of this and the universe mark is in, is on the same timeline as the original universe. So those 20 years the guardians spent looking for mark, he was just sitting there waiting for them to find him. They went through the multiverse to find which universe mark is in first so once they found mark, his time passed same way it did with the older guardians, he was stranded and probably deranged from starvation. this is the mark we just witnessed kill angstrom. So the other mark is just the other mark, he’s are mark after 20 years but we just don’t see anything and honestly it’s more my speculation since they’re so vague about it.
what I don't get is that Robot said "thought we wouldn't tell him anything or it might affect the timeline" however surely going back and bringing him back 20 years early is already disrupting the time stream ?

I love the double meaning in "I thought you were stronger." Mark probably didn't mean to kill Angstrom, but he didn't realize how much stronger he was. But he's also talking to himself, because he let his rage take over to the point of killing someone. Also, I wonder what happened with Nolan and Allen in the timeline where Mark disappeared. I assume the plan is to breakout relatively soon, and I would think if they do, in the 20 ish years that passed, the Viltrumites would've tried conquering Earth again. Were they able to stop them with the combined efforts of Nolan, Alan, and the Guardians, or did they end up dead, and the Viltrumites decided that Earth wasn't worth the effort? I assume Rudy is dead, since he isn't there, and Rex is wearing armor based on him, so maybe he died in the battle.
@Thenormies , Suraj, Here's the explanation. Eve and the others find Mark 20 years later after he disappeared. They see that he's old and probably crazy from being ALONE 20 YEARS. So Eve and the others time travel 20 years earlier to rescue Mark the moment HE WENT MISSING. Hope that explains it.

From a human perspective it seems like Nolan has subjected Earth to an unredeemable amount of carnage and destruction, but from a viltramites perspective, if Nolan truly didn't care about the planet then every human being would already be dead, they are ants in comparison to him. This is also why Mark fears his abilities and yearns for control because he could accidently kill millions with not much effort at all, he's not just a loaded gun, he's a loaded nuke and that makes him extremely dangerous to every human, his mom included, if he can't control himself properly.

There might have been a ton of answers in this finale but the implications of killing Angstrom and the future guardians are really interesting and scary.
