The only thing thats wrong with Arkham Batman is that he doesnt show much emotion. When talia dies at the end of arkham city, or he thinks robin dies in the dlc, he seems barely sad. In the comics when he lost Jason he fell to his knees crying. Other then that I love Arkham
I don't try to be an asshole about it, but AC is easily one of the silliest games and Batman adaptations people take seriously. As a lifelong Batfan, I wish it wasn't a disappointment. It must be said the detachment of the fawning praise this mess has been given is truly bizarre. The asinine plot holes, wasted characters, stilted and juvenile dialogue, and utterly incompetent, haphazard, rushed narrative design throughout the main story are all glaring. It's seems like a borderline spoof. Pretending this hilarious waste of time is one of the greatest Batman adaptations ever only proves a strong emotional investment to affirm that pretense. The game is a fun time if you turn your brain off (I loved the challenge mode for that). But it doesn't hold up under any basic scrutiny, nor do the lavish opinions of it.

I can completely understand and agree with your point’s all 3 of these are basically perfect but man I prefer Arkham knight over Arkham city as the world building feels like a movie, the joker adaptation of having him in your head and visioning him then finally the Batman himself in that game especially in the scene with Gordon’s daughter that was horrifying very unexpected and then the ending that hit different. The new Batman was honestly amazing was so surprised with what I saw after going 3 times to the cinemas I reckon Robert has the chance to have a perfect trilogy but living up to the dark knight will be tough but then again it’s two different world’s it could do so much better in a different way but we will see. Then finally Batman beyond which as an animated series it’s amazing and then story of that series is perfect wish to see more of it but hearing the Batman animated/spiderverse type was cancelled made a lot of people mad and honestly wish they proceeded with that but who knows maybe one day. Great video man, looking forward to the Spider-Man one I will state my 3 Spider-Man into the spiderverse, the amazing Spider-Man and spectacular Spider-Man personally but will write all this when that time comes.
These 3 are close to being interchangeable in quality. Perfect selection of Batman media. I would put The Dark Knight last as it has my least favourite Batman in terms of performance, aesthetic and action. It also has the worst atmosphere and visual style, The Batman is gorgeously dark and beautifully shot whereas Arkham City feels so gothic and apocalyptic. Hard to choose between City and The Batman, it feels super nerdy to put a video game over a movie but I think I would, all things considered. Arkham City is a wholistic Batman experience if you look at a Batman universe criteria: villains, action, adventure. I might even put Arkham Knight above City, plot twist. The map is unbelievably good, the visuals are twice as beautiful as City, the traversal and combat are overhauled and completely upgraded in every sense, I even love the Batmobile. The Batmobile’s traversal was immaculate, those car chases had no right to be so cinematic. The Batmobile combat, while simple, was satisfying. Yes, it was still slightly overused. The only major complaint I have with Arkham Knight is the bosses, which were a major downgrade.
Arkham city is probably the best adaptation overall, but Battinson is easily my favorite Live Action adaptation (on top of it being my personal favorite Live Action Batman movie of all of them)
my top 3 batmen would have to be val kilmers batman, arkham batman and animated batman, each of them are really good adaptations of their times. people can hate on kilmers batman all they want, but if it weren't for the really good scenes being cut it would've made for the best batman film next to keaton.
We have had great Batman live action movies, but I am still waiting for someone to not be afraid and adapt the character rather than making an interpretation of him. Gunn is the best chance we have gotten yet because he is someone who isn't scared of his characters like the other people are. But I don't dare get my hopes up too much in case it is just another interpretation.
To me the third Act of the Batman is better than the third Act of The Dark Knight because Batman is more directly involved with the outcome. In the Dark Knight he's relying on the citizens to do the right thing which is kind of cheesy for a Nolan movie. Even in Arkham City the third Act of that game he's directly involved in the outcomes well because obviously you're playing as him. The Dark Knight is a 9.5 out of 10 movie for me 0.5 is deducted because of the lackluster third act in my opinion.
If the answers is "the dcau" idk what to tell you, they did so many things right, child and teenage Bruce Wayne, Batman starting out. They made him feel like the worlds greatest detective, the man who felt like the greatest hero in the world of the Justice League unlimited. The man who makes the right decision. We see him at later on, when age finally gets him and when he is forced to use a gun, *thats* what ended him being Batman. We see him because truly cynical. Then his connection to Terry Mcginnis, how that changes him at makes him do stuff like retake his family company, make amends with Tim Drake. Allow Terry to become the Successer only he could be. At the ripe old age of 90 he still gives the thought to try to make Terry some soup.
I used to watch Jacksepticeye play that! From what I remember Bruce Wayne was really good and Joker's origin story was well handled. I'm a huge fan of telltale's so I might play that myself someday.
@@dixonb.tweenerlegs4225 Better aesthetics from top to bottom first of all. The cinematography in The Batman was stunning. Costume designs were also immaculately striking and sharp. They achieved the impossible in making the Riddler threatening with a zodiac killer overhaul. Possibly the coolest and most original batsuit design. The Batman also leaned heavily into the world’s greatest detective moniker. It’s a detective movie through and through, murder mystery. The Dark Knight, while mature and violent, doesn’t strike the same tone of darkness that The Batman constantly delivers. I feel like you only see daylight a couple of times in the entire 3 hours, that’s how Batman should be.
@@kipdaedricartifact 99% of what you said is the opposite of what the original poster said. You're describing subjective general film critique, not Batman specifically. But when you said the world's greatest detective aspect about The Batman movie is heavily leaned on, that's valid...until you kinda rewatch the movie. I've watched The Batman multiple times and the more I look passed the aesthetics and cool stuff on the surface, the more he falls flat at being the world's greatest detective. He more or less pretty much has every major clue handed to him by either the plot or the supporting cast of characters. The thing about the detective scenes in The Batman is, while they look cool and seem like Batman is making progress using solely his detective skills because the scenes focus heavily on him walking around crime scenes and looking around slowly, he doesn't really solve much. Penguin, Gordon, Alfred & a random background cop quite literally hand him the answers because he gets stuck so much. Like let's be real, Batman got confused and stumped on what a carpet tucker is. Riddler could've ran circles around this Batman if he didn't have help. His detective scenes kinda boil down to him just looking busy instead of actually making any advancements. Without the characters around him, he very well could've been stuck at first quarter of the movie while Riddler kept up the antics. As far as aesthetics and vibes go tho? Yeah, The Batman is a better Batman movie. The Batman might be a better Batman movie in just terms of style. Idk about character or substance though. The daylight part of your comment.
Mark Hamill is the best joker by FAR. Not because the rest are bad, Heath Ledger is amazing like fucking AMAZING but, when I read a comic and I hear a certain person's voice when reading a certain characters lines, that, in my head, shows a lot about how amazing a performance is. So Mark Hamill the goat joker, Kevin Conory IS batman and just throwing this in here too, Yuri Lowenthal is the goat spiderman.
yea arkham batman is the 🐐 and i love animated and the dark knight trilogy but arkham batman is next level. wish we fought superman as him or something crazy like that
Batman did NOT need to make himself the villain at the end of that movie, one of my favourite movies of all time, but he literally could have just pinned it all on The Joker who was knowingly doing crazy shit throughout the movie.
Oh yeah because it's not like the joker was in fucking custody by the swat team by the time that happened and literally any amount of investigation would have revealed that the joker did not kill dent.
Or he could have just told the truth and believed that the people of Gotham would have accepted it and ultimately done the right thing... y'know, like he says they'll do throughout the movie (and what the movie ultimately shows the people of Gotham doing by the end). I actually like it as an ending, and Batman is a character prone to making those kinds of controlling decisions. The issue is the next film shows no consequence to it. His lie fixed everything. If Bane hadn't shown up everything would have been fine. It's a cop out, and it undermines what the trilogy is trying to say. The Batman actually shows the character having to confront his own actions. It's a lot more thoughtful. Still think the best Batman film is Mask of the Phantasm though.
I think The Batman clears easily… A lot of the points you gave to TDK are awarded for it being a “good movie”, not a good “Batman movie” And I honestly think Arkham City is one of the most overrated games ever
Tell me if I'm wrong but one of the main things that the live actions don't even consider is being comic accurate batman is huge he is in peak physical condition look at Arkham batman that's how batman looks like this is an unpopular opinion but Ben Affleck is the only live action adaptation that matches comic batman physically he is literally a machine in combat he has nearly unmatched intelligence and so on you are making a super hero movie it doesn't need to be realistic in order to be good and to be honest I never really liked anything that shows batman in his early years.
2 of the greatest Batmen ever are from the animated series and the Arkham games do you wanna know why cause of Kevin Conroys he fucking is Batman HOWEVER i will say Pattinson (if he keeps getting better and better) has the potential to be the greatest live action Batman ever
Between the 3 in the thumbnail? Without watching the video yet, it goes to Nolan's Batman. Had the most character development and personality out of the 3 shown here. Like by a landslide. Arkham Batman is cool. But that's his main thing. Being cool. In terms of character growth, he's pretty much the weakest one here. Okay, so the video wasn't about character but between finding out what was the best general Batman adaptation TDK movie, The Batman or Arkham city. It ended with Nolan's still on top so close enough. Had this video been made a couple years ago, i probably would've said The Batman is the better Batman adaption. But looking back at TDK after a couple recent rewatchss, it's a lot more true to Batman as a film than people give it credit for. The Joker's performance is so good that it genuinely can overshadow the amount of faithfulness TDK holds to the source material. Which is a testament to how good Ledger was that years later, im just now noticing all the comic accuracies in TDK after glossing over it during my whole childhood
For me personally Arkham Batman (mainly City) and the Animated Series are top of the line as far as adaptations for the Caped Crusader. I really loved Batfleck (yes I know I am in the minority but I love TDKR) Battinson is great too. I don’t really enjoy Bale

The Batmobile’s traversal was immaculate, those car chases had no right to be so cinematic. The Batmobile combat, while simple, was satisfying. Yes, it was still slightly overused. The only major complaint I have with Arkham Knight is the bosses, which were a major downgrade.
Really good video I just wish you put up a graphic on screen each time you moved on to a new category just to make what ur talking about more flear
@@nathanball4029 will do for my Spiderman video, thanks for letting me know
Arkham city is probably the best adaptation overall, but Battinson is easily my favorite Live Action adaptation (on top of it being my personal favorite Live Action Batman movie of all of them)
my top 3 batmen would have to be val kilmers batman, arkham batman and animated batman, each of them are really good adaptations of their times. people can hate on kilmers batman all they want, but if it weren't for the really good scenes being cut it would've made for the best batman film next to keaton.
The Batman?
The best 2004 The Batman. Thank you and good night
💀
I would give Arkham City last in almost every catagory 😂😂
Good video though ❤❤
To me the third Act of the Batman is better than the third Act of The Dark Knight because Batman is more directly involved with the outcome. In the Dark Knight he's relying on the citizens to do the right thing which is kind of cheesy for a Nolan movie. Even in Arkham City the third Act of that game he's directly involved in the outcomes well because obviously you're playing as him. The Dark Knight is a 9.5 out of 10 movie for me 0.5 is deducted because of the lackluster third act in my opinion.
In my opinion these adaptations all are equally . That's the reason as to why they are so popular
i don’t think the batman is in my top 3 or even top 5 but it’s still a solid adaptation
i would put arkham in last, and then the batman is the tiniest amount above tdk
Goated video
my fav batman is the batman but for some reason i agreed with everything lol
DCAU will always be my batman
How? Just how? Are you so underrated?! It's my first time watching your video and how you give so much effort on it?
I’d love to hear your opinion on Telltale’s Batman games.
I used to watch Jacksepticeye play that! From what I remember Bruce Wayne was really good and Joker's origin story was well handled. I'm a huge fan of telltale's so I might play that myself someday.
THE BATMAN THE GOAT I LOVED STYLISED FILMS 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
You do know your criteria for ranking Batman is covering all the perfect parts of the Batman the animated series and the JLA series has
The Batman is a better Batman movie, however The Dark Knight is a better movie.
Can you say what makes The Batman a better Batman movie?
Arkham batman is my easy #2 only behind the animated series batman
DCAU is probably the best adaptation overall.
Mark Hamill is the best joker by FAR. Not because the rest are bad, Heath Ledger is amazing like fucking AMAZING but, when I read a comic and I hear a certain person's voice when reading a certain characters lines, that, in my head, shows a lot about how amazing a performance is. So Mark Hamill the goat joker, Kevin Conory IS batman and just throwing this in here too, Yuri Lowenthal is the goat spiderman.
yea arkham batman is the 🐐 and i love animated and the dark knight trilogy but arkham batman is next level. wish we fought superman as him or something crazy like that
wrong
Batman did NOT need to make himself the villain at the end of that movie, one of my favourite movies of all time, but he literally could have just pinned it all on The Joker who was knowingly doing crazy shit throughout the movie.
Only if the Joker was dead.
I think the most definitive non comic batman is definitely btas batman
Arkham Batman is my favorite Batman, but BTAS (not TNBA) Bruce Wayne is my favorite Wayne.
💀
It’s Arkham. I mean nothing even comes close besides the animated series/ justice league unlimited/ beyond.
then you completely misunderstand the character
@@user-io1hx1zx7d I really didn’t. If that’s ur take u have no idea what ur talking about. I guarantee “The Batman” is ur favorite “Batman” 😂
They botched Two Face in the Dark Knight. Made him a cry baby. He was a good Harvey though.
Don’t even have to watch it I know Arkham gonna ein
Harvey's transformation is not justified at all. That's what makes me not like the movie as much
btas batman is THE batman
Animated series
I think The Batman clears easily…
A lot of the points you gave to TDK are awarded for it being a “good movie”, not a good “Batman movie”
And I honestly think Arkham City is one of the most overrated games ever
Which is a testament to how good Ledger was that years later, im just now noticing all the comic accuracies in TDK after glossing over it during my whole childhood
it definitely goes to dcau batman
For me personally Arkham Batman (mainly City) and the Animated Series are top of the line as far as adaptations for the Caped Crusader. I really loved Batfleck (yes I know I am in the minority but I love TDKR) Battinson is great too. I don’t really enjoy Bale
most people that love TDKR hate Batman V Superman
Cmon Arkham villains beat dark knight
Pattinson is the goat
Btas
Arkham knight is better
Animated Series
Arkham Games
Nolan Trilogy
💀
The dark knight as the best? Lol
Honestly
Arkham cities joker is better than the dark knights joker
He's overrated tbh
But i grew up with the animated series
debatable
@@user-io1hx1zx7d Mark Hamill is the greatest Joker ever is that a debate? I love Heath but Mark is the one true Joker. Just like Kevin Conroy is the one true Batman.
Btas and its not even close
Fr, it's DCAU Batman and The Batman
I disagree Batman Arkham city is the best
3 best Batman adaptations and not one of them is the animated series automatically invalidates this video.
P.S the Batman sucks.
I think batfleck is the best batman. Too bad snyder is a bad writer. Otherwise he is very cool

I personally thing lego batman is the best adaptation and I took the insult to heart. Disliked this video.
I’d say Arkham city but his brutality especially toward the later years of his career isn’t very Batman like. IMO. I’d say if we get more of battinson he might be the best
Im super sorry but Arkham city batman is the most plain and cookie cutter bats you could choose characterization wise. If you wanted an arkham choice, Origins was there as a much better, much more rich character
yea arkham batman is the 🐐 and i love animated and the dark knight trilogy but arkham batman is next level. wish we fought superman as him or something crazy like that
