Version 1 is elevated through the reharmonization, which adds a lot. Version 4 is elevated by it's rythmic variations, elevating it in a completely different way. Very cool video, although I've never heard the original!

And here in order we have:
    1. classical
    2. romantic
    3. "impressionist" (I just think of Debussy)
    4. modern (Nahre's personal style)
it's amazing how you can completely change the atmosphere with rhythm and some chord choices!! I think I wanna try something like this as a tribute to songs I like, because I don't know how else I can appreciate/make something with them xD
Love your innovative videos as always :)

I don't usually comment on your videos but oh wow as an ARMY / musician this was right up my alley and just so incredible.
I particularly enjoyed version 3 and 4. Version three because of the borrowed 4th that was just really pleasing to the ear, plus the increasing tension by going up by half semitone and then going back oh my gosh, I really love this kind of progressions.
And version 4 because I really like your style and I very much enjoyed the overall arrangement, the details and how it accentuated but not overpowered JK's voice.
Seriously please make this a series. I'd personally recommend doing Laufey's "From the start" I think it would be really interesting to see what you come up with, specially with all the different styles. So yeah, keep up the good work !!!

This brought to my mind the concerts (and live albums) Metallica did with the San Francisco philharmonic, known as S&M. I think it would be a real shame if he never ended up having something like this composed for a full orchestra to perform with live sometime. It's very nice. I really enjoyed this one.
Edit: By "he" I mean Jung Kook.

Brilliant! I liked the bass chromatic version the best (but they were all great!) with the borrowed IV. Kind of had James Bond vibes which I think works well with this song. Your version reminded me of Polyphia’s complex textures. Very cool.
By the way, I teach middle school band and orchestra and I’m going to use your video as a reflection activity in class. It’s really great. One of our guiding values is “learn to think like a musician” and your work embodies that so well. Thank you!
PS- maybe I can send you some student reflections when we’re done.

Brilliant, thank you! Version 4 is my favourite, thought they're all great. You probably know that K-Pop groups have sometimes employed musicians with the Seoul Symphony in their compositions, and it shows in the sophistication of some (especially girl-group) K-Pop harmonies and instrumentation. Would love to see what you could do with Japanese-Korean (Japanese born, Korean trained) girl group XG's amazing song from last year Left Right, which already has a lot going on in it.

I loved version 1 because of the reharmonisation - is it just me, but is playing around with harmony around a constant melody the most exciting thing in music? Love the rhythms in version 4 too, but would love some Brasil 66 chords there!

That D minor / B-flat / G Major "borrowed IV" progression ( 4:41 )seems to come up a lot in movie music -- spy and superhero and space fantasy stories, etc.
I think Charles Cornell has focused on it more than once.

I think you are brilliant. I learn so much from you, especially how to improvise. I found that the best approach to improvisation (for me at least) is through a composer's perspective-taking an idea (alberti bass/arpeggios etc) and making it your own, as you so masterfully show in your vids. You have a fan!!😊

Version #3 is very fetching, as
    Dmin/D & Bb/B are followed by
G/G with the vocal adding the E to form a major 6th. But the funky syncopation and shifting dynamics of #4 is a real toe tapper. I'd love to hear a melding of the two.

Late to the party but joining all the comments that say it evokes James Bond...I feel like I read something about the James Bond chord progression being a sort of singularly recognizable, "special" shift of harmony, but I can't seem to find it anymore. There was something in that too about "modal interchange" where you borrow the Dorian chord of the same root, the way here Nahre borrowed the D major chord into the D minor "frame." Also, when I looked into Billie Eilish's "No Time To Die" it does go from Em9 (and there's a LOT of info out there about using the minor-9 in James Bond music), to C major, which is the like an equivalent shift of going from Dm -> Bflat, just a whole tone down...so that gets us most of the way there...but I think it's most obvious in the harmony of Adele's "Skyfall" ...I'm not knowledgeable enough to draw the parallel for myself in the time I have, but I'm with curiosity at this point...
Like if you think Nahre and Jung Kook should collaborate for the feature piece for the next Bond film...

The circular arpeggios and lower register portion of version 3 (between 4:05 and 4:25) gave me a classical + Bond vibe. Now I want to see a Jung Kook Bond tune for real using that beautiful chord progression that "borrows" a G major.

Wow, I make similar music, sometimes remixing k pop, pop, or rap and rnb to make my version of hip hop music. Anyway i would like to suggest to download or use a better vocal extractor. Serato has one as well as FL, i think logic has one now too but i never used it yet. Also with Waves Clarity you can dial in the amount of vocals left to pass through. But to suggest all the remixes you made were good and high quality i would just hope for the whole song to be remixed and not patches or parts only. My next suggestion is maybe a hip hop song but in your classical pianist style.

This was very well done and should be continued. I like some Kpop and think it has musical value. Your treatments probably take it out of the POP area, but increase the probability of a Real Aesthetic Experience, such as one might have with a classical composition, perhaps by Ravel or Rachmaninoff. Keep going on this.
