yes, I loved how he was subtly laying back in a swing manner, but it felt great over this. He also nodded to the most "jazz-like" language of all the pianists. Excellent.

Big fan of Charles and Nahre….this was a little more in Charles lane. This was a tough backing track. I’m going to attempt this myself after the video..I actually attach a midi keyboard right to my iPad and play along with video…very convenient for this..I am using ravenscroft for sound. Sanga was so charming I see her thumbnails and I have watched a couple of videos but I was very impressed with her personality and strategy..I will be watching more of her in the future.

Tbh I liked hers the least. She was very infront of the beat which I didn‘t feel at all. Also for me there was no real meat if you will. A lot of pentatonic playing that sounded a bit like searching if it fits instead if knowing.
In contrast when Aimee Nolte plays if feels so secure and in control of every aspect of the playing.

Something interesting that I found watching this is that each musician plays and approaches the instrument and their improvisational solo exactly the way they speak and deliver their information as individuals. Writing as I listen.
Charles: dig it. It's slow, classy, feels like I should be having a nice glass of wine and chilling with people I like.
Nahre: Some good, interesting, melodic and rhythmic ideas. I re-listened a couple times to fully appreciate it. It's different in a good way.
Jeff: Smooth, simple, but effective and befitting of the track.
Aimee: slow touch in the beginning, but with a nice build in dynamics and speed. follows the chord changes well.
Sangah: You can sense her confident, fun, quirky personality through her playing and that's a GOOD thing. Her solo takes you on a mini journey for sure!
David: Kind of feels like something I'd hear in an anime lol, which is good to me.
    Well done everyone!

Love Charles! His videos are amazing.
That being said, Sangah’s part gave me some major goosebumps. She just got a new subscriber, that’s for sure.

I really enjoyed the energy of the lassie with the golden lab, 2nd too last. Although the progression was quite "sad" in feel she brought an up lifting energy to her rendition.

Sangah and David were my favorites. I felt like their versions meshed the best with the track. Note choices, dynamics, felt more weaved into the track, rather than just sitting on top

So great to see all of my favorite UA-cam piano stars in one video. It also was a perfect moment for a collab. A few years ago we had many, then it died out, so it was very refreshing and bringing back some memories. I loved all improvisations. Sangah made the show but I enjoyed the others just as much. The different approaches made it the best UA-cam piano video of the year for me.👍

Winner goes to sangan she said music is all about storytelling. That was really a great telling of a story. Lots of contrast use of space color she blew everybody else out of the water.

Thanks for putting this together, David. I enjoyed every second of the video. Each participant delivered something that showed a piece of their own musical soul. Thanks to Charles, Nahre, Jeff, Aimee, Sangah and yourself... for creating this exceptional video. I've been a huge fan of Sangah and Aimee for a long time... and I loved getting to see what they came up with for this project. But it was also tremendous fun to meet the others in this video - and see what they created. BRAVO to everyone involved. Standing ovation from me for each one of you.

Listening at night. Seeing the minds of the musicians with their technique, thinking about the music (improvising), fascinating! Knowing well the structure to improvise, Hmmm, yes. Yes, I understood it correctly. And the melody you listen to, we should not lose it.. Well, Thank you David Bennett! BTW we discovered this surprising channel thanks to Sanga Noona.

I agree. With her improv, you can make an important point - it's about more than the notes. Her body language subconciously helped me enjoy her solo more - you could tell she was having fun, and taking us along for the ride. Also - most everyone played electronic keyboards, and I appreciated and admired all of them - nothing wrong with any. But I was trying to figure out why Sangah's performance felt so much BIGGER - just volume? I don't think so. From her example, I think you can see that a good real (grand) piano does add something to the feel of a piece, again above and beyond the notes that are played.

Ok, kudos to everyone! At first I liked Nahre's solo best. She seemed to be reading my mind and she was pleasant and easy to follow, playing the notes I anticipated would come next. But then Sangah came along and KICKED ASS! After she finished, I wanted to yell, "Bartender! A round for the whole bar!" If I could play piano like anyone, I would want to play piano like Sangah Noona!

It's interesting how the majority of the viewers liked Sangah's solo best, it being the most simple melodically. Confirms how keeping it simple is also enjoyable, well her setup and energy was much stronger as well haha maybe that has to do with it too. My personal faves were Charles, Jeff (first time hearing him and immediately subbed), Aimme, and David's solo :) Sangah and Nahre played real good too
