the whole point of trail braking all these people talk is to get into slip angle right? so if you steer too much and break traction at the front while attempting to "trail brake" and you just dont rotate and instead just understeer horribly, youre just wasting time?
If u are trying to trail brake with the steering wheel, I think understeer is normal, if u oversteer with the brake pedal then u are trail braking right, trail brake isn't about steering wheel, is about getting deeper in the corner keeping speed I'm not a pro and non native English speaker
