With the release of the new PMDG 777 I thought I’d have no time for this TFDI MD-11, that said I just cannot get enough of the MD-11 it is all I want to fly. Thanks Jeff keep them coming. Look how your channel grows!

Hi Father, I came unexpectedly to your channel and it surprised me to find so many information of the MD11. I was already flying this bird (PMDG) since the FS2004 & FSX days, having done a few 1000 hours. Now I’m very glad that Tfdi developed the MD for MSFS, it’s still my most favourite aircraft. I purchased the passengers and cargo package last week and only did a small testflight. Besides I still have to configure my TCA and that looks not very easy, anyway I’ll get it. Years ago I had the chance to visit the flightdeck while the pilots (Captain Robert and the female F/O) were preparing for takeoff, still remembering it like it was yesterday and still having photos. Thank you so much for all your videos and manuals you posted, it must have been a huge work to get this all together and even now giving those for free to us flightsimmers. I share the same positive sentiments below. I learned the MD80 inside and out and got to enjoy flying every minute of it with lots more to come. the MD11 is fast approaching from behind and can't wait to become more proficient , not just flying from A to B but with the systems as well. @@kam_a3216 always so great to hear from you Kam. I love the plane and I am positive that, with the next 3 or 4 revisions, make almost everyone happy to be part of the TFDI MD-11. They’ll always be guys who are not happy, and I understand that, but I know ow that it will become a very respected add-on.
Thanks Father time for these excellent docs you are sharing with us! I am totally hooked on the TFDi MD-11. I love the DC-10 and MD-11. I was lucky enough to have gathered more than 70 hours on the flightdeck jumpseats aboard Lufthansa Cargo MD-11Fs - thanks to a close friend of mine. I already did some LH Cargo flights in MSFS and many more to come! Thanks for all your effort! Best wishes from Germany.

Hi Father Time, thanks for your video and materials. I flew the MD11 today for the first time, it is a bit of “ a merge of the MD82 and the A300-600” 😅…...as a Former RL Pilot (no MD11) I had a few remarks about the pitch sensitivity, the forward and backwards jumping yoke column, the proces of the VS mode, the double mouse-Pinter in VR, the VR performance, the readability of (some of the tablet items - charts and performance calculator) in VR, but for the rest had a great flight. I did go to their discord to talk about my experiences but ended up filing “a ticket” about them because there is no way to get through Discord items….what a mess….they have no forum and finding your way in discord is a drama. I wished we could go back to the times we had Forums where we can file messages and find answers below them. But maybe it is my age (63) and I can not keep up with moderns social media 😊

I love the MD! As you say, it isn’t perfect, and it is delightfully quirky. It already has some very strong points, for example the overhead panel, the taxiing, the sounds and more. With a few updates, it will be a winner, and for me, it already is.

I appreciate all your efforts sharing this knowledge with the flight sim community. I already bought the plane and I'm having a blast. As I already had some experience with the Rotate and the old PMDG model, I had no issues at all. I just found it a little pitchy comparing with Rotate MD-11, but as I'm not a pilot I don't know which one is right. So, I change my sensitivity settings a little bit around the center to have a little more control
Not a plane behavior bug, but I found a problem with the sound. If I pause it, and get back to it, the external sound is gone.

I think it's a shame this was released in this state. I payed for both the 777 and the MD-11. You wouldn't believe the 777 is cheaper than the MD-11.
The MD-11 is a tough, unpolished diamond that just got out of the Earth. In comparison the 777 is like is one of the purest jewel you could imagine (yet with 1 or 2 flaws).
They should have waited 2 or 3 months more imo.
I understand. However, I know that you’ll be happy with the upcoming update which addresses the flight dynamics. I love it. You’ll definitely get your money’s worth.
Isnt the ER just limited to those lucky few who got the pre-order that only lasted 24 hours?

Hi Father Time, you know, if I had MSFS the MD11 would be my first addon. I have the Tfdi Boeing 717 they did for FSX and it is brilliant, almost a baby MD11! So I wouldn't hasitate buying this from them either. The MD11 is usually my goto commercial jet in FSX it just has that brilliant mix of old school and new. I might not do everything correctly but I have had many many successful flight in it, hundreds of hours in fact. I thoroughly enjoy it much more than the 777 for instance...............I wonder if your check lists would be relivent for my FSX version..............I mean it is PMDG made! @@FatherTime1958 Yes I would love to.............I think it would require a new PC in order to get the most out of it. MSFS and all newer sims are much more GPU reliant than FSX which is more Processer hungry. My graphic card isn't really up to it at present. Years ago I went rather mad buying addons, mainly aircraft from the likes of A2A and PMDG, Captain Sim and others, so it would be a wrench to assign them to the recycling bin. Who knows though, never say never! Some good news though I recently was allowed to buy some new throttles as my old Seitek ones wore out. Instead of buying replacements a had permission to buy the Honeycomb Bravo Throttles, which I am amazed by, and haven't crashed once since I got them............Still setting up my profiles at present though, but things are looking up. I was thinking it's funny but I seem to get drawn to any aircraft with three engines! The MD11, Tristar, 727, the Tristar even has a working INS system, how daunting! I think it's because those are just a bit different from the usual.

I think alot of the folks are having trouble due to lack of understanding of LSAS. It's a poor man's Airbus FWB pitch control system that can feel like it's fighting you.

If you can get that constant up-trimming issue down the ILS on autopilot under control, it would really stabilize this bird after AP disco. I can't understand why it is doing it but by the time you touch down trim is full up. Weird.

I'm going to wait about 6 months for this thing to mature, it's not ready for release yet. Not super interested in being a paying beta tester for TFDi. It's too unpolished particularly with its flight model.

I have it, systemwise it is ok with lots of room of improvement, and outside is P3D and cockpit is static, no moving and useful parts like sunshades in cockpit, so 80 bucks is al lot for the status it has at the moment, it is not at that standard of actual high level addons, if you see what you can get for 80 bucks. I hope they will improve all this, still near 400 bugs in github.
Well, this time i allow myself to humbly disagree with you. The taxiing behavior on the ground is terrible. Plain terrible. And while this is a platform problem, the plane could and should have been adapted. The rest is really bloody good, but not being able to get it around a 90 deg. bend is frustrating.
I understand, but I have no problem taxing the plane. Yes, I sometimes need to tap the inside brake or re-center and then turn, but I consider that to be standard MSFS stuff. However, maybe I’m too easy on the build. I’ve had so many MSFS jets that get stuck in a turn and it’s all over. I have a separate Hostas stick for MWS, so maybe that’s why I haven’t had any issues.
@@FatherTime1958 I do have a separate tiller. But try making a turn and look outside at the nw, skidding over the pavement. Even at 3 kts.
Maybe you can check on that and point it in their direction. And as always, thanks for your effort! And for reference you might look at a guys yesterday's stream with the md-11. There it is very obvious. ("Cockpit lyrics") Is the channel name
