How to remove/'pop' skateboard bearing covers

In this video I show you guys how to remove or 'pop' the covers on your bearings. I also explain later in the video why people do this too!

my bearing got some junk inside and wasnt turning, was able to remove the shield, blow out the debris, and am up and rolling again. thanks for this!

Nice! Apparently this can help a bit as dirt can't get stuck behind the shields. I've been running my bearings like this for a long time now and not had any problems. Could probably do with giving them a service though

Clean and oil as soon as they get slow, keeps them smooth and brand new for years. I've been riding mine for 7 years now. Also get Super Reds, much better than Reds and only slightly worse than Swiss.

Can i use a fidget spinner shield on my skateboard bearings because i have metal ones and i want to be able to remove them
