I have many exotics in my stable. My track rat was a modded 991.1 911 GTS manual. I got rid of it for a Z06 w/ the Z07 package. Couldn’t be happier the car is on another level and a serious joy to drive .
I love those paddle clicks. - it subliminally sticks in your head, (revs, engine noise, g-handling,) you spend a day on those twisty roads; even after you settle down from all the adrenaline leaves, and your asleep at night. love it!! - also people move the F - out of your way when they hear coming from your downshift.
I just got one. It’s amazing!! I kept my 992s, but this car is another beast. So much character. Obviously I love the 911 enough to keep it too, but Chevrolet really knocked it out of the park on the engineering of the z06.
@@mikerusznak Eh.... Probably the same way as the Porsche purists take on any change made in the 911/Cayman line. Can't please everyone... Yeah, I snagged my z06 on a whim because it had the full z07 package and carbon ceramic brakes. The carbon package has been on constraint, so I knew I had to act quick if I was ever going to get one in that spec. I got extremely lucky to be able to make the purchase on such short notice
I’ve had 3 GT3s 7 911s total. I just switched to a new Z06/z07 package. Absolutely love the car. I would have preferred another GT3 but Porsche is asking such insane markups I’m not willing to even get on a list. The last time I asked they wanted $75,000 over. My last GT3 was the 2018 model, so still very current, it’s a great car and it’s worth every penny of $150,000 but with options the car will be close to $200,000 and with markup $300,000. It doesn’t come close to being worth $250,000 much less $300,000 I tracked every one. The GT3 has been scooped up by people who have never been to a track. So us enthusiasts lose out. They want a status symbol. Then these buyers go on the forums and complain about the road noise and the rawness. They say their wife hates it. So we who love the car lose out again. I have my letter from Porsche inviting me to buy the 918. Yet 14 years later Porsche could care less about loyal customers. So I want to thank Porsche for pushing me to experience the Z06. It’s faster than the GT3 and sounds better sooner. I don’t know if I’ll ever go back. Porsche used to be the car that those of us who worked hard could go in and order any 911 except maybe the GT2. When I was younger and money was a tad tight I was able to easily get a GT3. Now I’m older and can afford anything up to Ferrari and Lamborghini . But I’m not willing to play the games. It’s like Porsche wants to be Ferrari. “You must buy 3 of these before getting one of those”. There’s too many great choices including the upcoming ZR1, to waste time playing dealer games. It was a good run while it lasted but it’s a shame to see Porsche try to move up from the serious practical sports car to unobtainable for all those except the silly
I like the review, and I understand what you are saying about the paddle shifters. I really think not one person that owns one really cares too much about the clicking. And if it bothers someone that much, just let the car shift for you, it would be faster letting the computer shift for you....that's a guarantee! Nice review.
The argument is them not being clicky enough but you can also get 3rd party replacements so no issue there. Ride quality is 750s/Rolls Royce level amazing
My 2024 does not make that clicking sound when I shift. Weird. I agree w what you said about the rear view mirror. I keep trying to use it w the top up (I have an htc) but the double image is distracting. I thought it was because I wear progressives. I like the steering wheel… a lot. You get used to it .
I love the C8 but i don't like that interior that much, but performance wise for half th price of a Lamborghini Huracan, now that's a bang for the bucks. The new Lamborghini Temerario have marvelous interior like the Revuelto albeit a lot more compact with great leg room and head room, but i don't like the way they design the shape of the car because for a new model that Lamborghini made. The Temerario doesn't have the looks typically found on Lamborghinis.
I bought a Z07 after 7 911s. I wasn’t a big fan either from afar but it grows on you and it’s very comfortable for the driver especially. Its more manageable than the 911 cockpit

It is a beast of a car. I don’t understand how we can still have this car on the lot.

Yes. I agree, but I wonder how the Corvette purests feel about it. We still have that Z06. Price keeps dropping for such a good car.

You bring up a lot of valid points do you mind if I share with Porsche NA?

The ride is nice. 👍🏼
7%??? Go directly to the dealer better deals and you can get a brand new custom order.
Astounding bargain, almost beyond belief if you know the sports car industry.
The car is designed for the track and on the track he would never use the handover hand method. Just keep your hands on the wheel and turn it.
You mean “square” 😉
@@mikerusznak I think the correct term is "squircle"......square + circle. LOL
At $134K it is competitively priced. Good luck selling it!

Supposedly there is a way to adjust that rear view mirror to decrease the double image. 👍🏼
@@mikerusznakThanks. I will look into it. I just made the assumption that it was my new progressive lenses.
Now I know what I always suspected...I can't afford a car in this price range. Maybe I'll just go drive one for a few laps in Las Vegas.
So instead of slapping the paddles, you heed to press them and it actually feels okay and certainly doesn’t make that sound.
We still have the car.
I’ll go try again.
That infotainment screen is laughable. Look how small the actual display is vs the overall dimension of the face.
It is on the smaller side, but it’s pretty close to you so it doesn’t feel too bad.
It’s not a Tesla lol
Nice vid. Think you are shitting too much. I shift around 4500-5000 on casual drives. Or just put in Auto. Good price
It depends how I eat. 😉

The C8 interior is surprisingly comfortable except for the “steering square”. Haven’t seen the new Lambo yet.

@@jimsteinway695 Yeah ur right, I guess if u do own 1, using it every day or on weekends would eventually grow on u.
Great car, the designers didn’t know what to do with the rear of the car. It’s just plain ugly. Everywhere else it looks great!
There is no 'sheet metal' on a corvette.
What’s it called then?
No, it’s called the poor man’s supercar!
Yes a high revving naturally aspirated Z06 meanwhile the mid engine ferrari 296 is a plug in hybrid. The poor man gets the better deal here
Poor man and super cars don’t go together. I know it’s figuratively speaking but spending 150k for a car is not poor in any means!
