    Nice Kit Fox. The wildlife in the desert is very sparse til night falls. I'd go out and set under the stars and wait an hour and then the critters would start to prowl. I'd see jack rabbits and kit foxes and all kinds of mice and rats. It helps to have a night vision scope.Prospecting is still good now but it's going to get hot soon with April only a few weeks away. Quartzite will soon be a ghost town with all the snowbirds heading north.

    That trap looked like a victor#2 possibly#3 double long spring. Foothold trap. Perfect size for coyotes. Nice find. If there's no tag showing the owners info you're legal to take it. If there tags on it the owner is facing fines

Didn't find much of anything on the detector but seen a lot of possible spot's including a coyote hole someone dug out . I didn't bring a good enough flash light to head off inside . So I continue going up from there . Following the iron fisher . Probably head back up after this cold weather clears up . Thanks for tuning in Allan , The edge still gos to the Gold Monster though. Besides , you get 2 coils with it, and it can be used without headphones. its a better buy and an easier machine to use.
      Why I used one machine over the other is sometimes I want something with more depth, especially in areas I think a large deeper nugget is a potential.

    • @IBRAKEFORBEDROCK
      @IBRAKEFORBEDROCK  3 місяці тому

      When starting out, you must have a proper metal detector that is known to find gold. The fisher gold bug two is amazing. However it has a bigger learning curve. The mind lab gold monster, 1000 is easier to use and find gold very well.Pulse induction metal detectors punch, deeper than VLF metal detectors. The AC 200 is doing you no good.

    I went out yesterday for the first time with my new Equinox 800 I tried what you do laying the detector down to wave the scoop over the coil, what I'm finding is as soon as I lay the detector down it starts to scream? It doesn't matter where I rest it? As soon as the shaft is horizontal it starts making noise that I can't use it to scan the scoop? I tried different modes. It's been noise cancelled. Why does my 800 do this? I'm using the 11" coil still trying to get the 6" . Probably going to buy it online and hope it gets to Quartzite in time so it can use it before we have to head out of the LTVA.

      Hi there 👋 I’m sorry but I do not take people out at this time. You did good buying that very capable detector, and the only thing I can recommend at this time is to join a prospecting club in your area. Most prospecting clubs have mineral leases that their members can use freely to detect for gold nuggets. I wish you all the best

      The older version ( pre 2017 ) is very similar in capabilities. The new version works well with easier parts to source

    If and when the GB2 breaks I know you had some experience with the gold monster .. But Check out the Nokta Gold 2000 I have all 3 detectors Even the nokta au . As for air test you are 100% on that there is NO machine that will do bad on air test and fabulous in the ground None.. Especially when your testing for SEPARATION of coin/iron ( Monties elevated board test)

    How does the GB2 work with black sands ? Can you run at the same settings ? Im 4 inches to bedrock in my washes and running 50-70% BS.

    • @IBRAKEFORBEDROCK
      @IBRAKEFORBEDROCK  2 роки тому +1

      VLF`s in general are really sensitive to black sands / heavily mineralized soils. It can do it but with that deep of ground a PI like the GPX series would be a better choice. The Gold Bug 2 would have to be dumbed down , but you will lose sensitivity and depth to targets.

    How many grains for a gram ? I'm so confused

    • @IBRAKEFORBEDROCK
      @IBRAKEFORBEDROCK  2 роки тому

      I dont usually use grains. only for the purpose of describing how small that gold was. Its just over 15 grains in one gram. Normally we just use tenths of a gram
