Nice finds and I didn't have to get a sore throat from the caleche dust watching you. Those cholla needles are brutally painful, too. Lucky for you the wind didn't blow any needles into you like what happened to me. It was about a month after I'd been down there when I felt a pain in my foot wearing the boots I'd worn on that trip and found a needle in the boot. It was about this time of year when I was with my 2 brothers on one of my brothers claim about 10 miles from Quartzite. I got a signal on a high bench but couldn't break it out of the crack. It might have been a hot rock.Found about a half gram of really tiny pieces in 3 days. I found more on the middle fork of the Yuba river in about 2 hours on a rest on the drive down from Washington to meet up with my brothers in San Diego. I enjoyed the wildlife with doves, rabbits and coyotes and lizards of all discription and not a drop of rain and pretty warm, too.
