I have been an amputee for a little over 2 years. It’s an above the knee amputation due to an operation gone bad from an inept dr. I’m ok one day then anger rears it’s ugly head. I have no self esteem and bad self body image. I can’t find a good support group so I do this alone.
I am glad it was helpful! Although challenging, I know you will get through it. Were you able to watch the other two videos? May I ask how you came across the video?
I am really glad it was helpful! There are so many challenges to overcome when dealing with an amputation and not a lot of help out there. I would recommend finding a good counselor to work through the rollercoaster of emotions. There is hope!
Everyone handles life differently. I have up & down days. I'm a RBKA as of 8/23. Still can't drive yet. Working on that one. Got my prosthetic 3 wks ago & it's going OK. Still need to use a walker. Starting PT next wk. I hope you continue to keep a positive attitude it will do you good. Take care 😊
My friend just went through a road accident that led to a full arm amputation. She was put on anti depressants (SSRIs) before she was even fully conscious. Do you think this helps or hinders her chances of getting her life back?
Hinders, no doubt. Your comment implies she was"medicated" without her informed consent, in which case, please confirm she sued those responsible out of existence.
Thank you for this introductory video. I am assisting a client who has just gone through two amputations. Your words are comforting and reassuring. God bless you for the work you are doing.

My 83 yr old father has lost both his legs due to artery disease/diabetes.
It is simply surreal.
Best to everyone and take care.
