Unfortunately my 1060 6GB died. So it was either buy an equal gpu but still way over mrsp or pay for a 3070 (what I originally wanted). I decided on getting a 3070. Let it be known that I bought it from a vendor that wasn't an independent seller or a fat ass scalper.
I just sold my old pc for 1500 euro's. 3800x, Nvidia RTX 3070 FE, 16gb DDR4 G.Skill, 2,5 TB for storage, Fractal design define R6, AIO cooler. 2 extra fans but i failed to use the High-End gaming pc tag...
I bought a 1060 for my brother a couple years ago and traded him it for his r9 390 and $50 as I was planning on building a 2nd really cheap PC for someone. Never built it and when the card shortage hit I sold the card for $80, the day after I listed it for sale on FB marketplace. I had bought the 1060 for $100 flat originally. The market is insane.
that " gaming pc" earlier in the video uses the exact same parts as my dads internet consumption pc that he got 13 years ago i think only worth 75 bucks to boot.
classic restaurant tactic Caesar salad and crutons = 6.50 Classic Caesar salad, with organic kale and locally sourced parmesian = 10.50 it was always the same dish
I think the only reason people put "high end" in their gaming pc adds is because they hope some naive parents will believe it and buy it for their kid because their kid wanted a "Powerful pc!" for their birthday or christmas. Sadly i think most of these sellers succeed in screwing a lot of people over since tons of parents aren't exactly well versed in pc gaming parts
These 2000$ builds are shocking me. I live in Germany and build a PC this week with a 3060TI, Ryzen 5 5600x 16GB Ram 3600 550 E-Gaming, new SSD, new PSU, new Case, AIO cooling and paid (everything brand new) 1750€ - in $ ~2100 I don't know if the situation in the US is this much worse, but paying 2000$ for a used PC and mediocre configuration, thats insane
While I don't like the high prices that much, I did manage to sell my RX 580 which paid for a 3060ti with next day shipping. Only way I can see getting a gpu now is basically waiting out any queue for a gpu, buy that gpu, then sell the old to take advantage of the market.
Yep, prices are really crazy right now, I bought an EVGA 3070 XC3 Ultra back on march for around 1000usd, bear in mind that I live in Chile, wich means that, with the import taxes plus the shipping costs, it wasn't too expensive, it wasn't cheap at all, but it was within the reasonable price that I could spend. Right now, the same GPU sells for around 2000usd here in Chile, now that's what I call crazy pricing
2:16 I usually buy "not working" cards cus most of the RX 570's or 580's are used for mining and people who try to re-sell there mining cards always put the wrong BIOS therefore somewhat semi bricking the card and selling it at a nice discount (at the time of typing this of course)
About a week ago I found a pc with an i5-4670k, an asrock z87 extreme board, 16gb of ddr3 and an extra 550 4gb for only $350. Considering the market I think this was a really good find
It took a minute for me to realize, but we wear the same glasses. I've built two 9700k-powered builds (to replace my X58 i7 990X and i7 980X builds), each to the tune of around $900 and spec'd way better (64GB DDR4 3200 each, 1TB Samsung 980 NVMe each, 1080Ti and a 980Ti). I got lucky on one of the motherboards, getting it as a new-open box item for $170. Same board is selling for $350+ used now. Also, since my old cards just go in the spare parts bin I've been digging out some real gems since the scalp-ocalypse started, like my $1.99 thrift-store find Asus 660Ti, $35 ebay win Asus 750Ti, $100 Strix R9 380 OC (eBay) and that $150 EVGA 980Ti SC2 (also eBay) that got used in the SFF build ITX Z390. The 1080Ti was originally a $450 EVGA FTW3 card that I then sold for $525 to buy an ROG Poseidon Platinum 1080Ti mis-listed as a Strix model for $550. The cheapest Poseidon at that time was $750. Those cards are going for $1k+ now. It's ridiculous.
Integrated graphics, I asume. Say what you will about those games, they are incredibly well tuned to run on toasters and potatoes even after all these years.
I have an RX580 8gb, and a GTX 1060 6gb. The RX580 is a little better. It's old though. I would say it's still fair to call it mid range. I don't think you need an RTX 3090 or even a 3080 to say high end. Imo a high end gaming PC is any PC that can run current gen games at 4k with acceptable fps and high settings, or 1440p at ultra settings. Ray tracing is still not a factor until it's standard in most games.
I spent all my time on laptops not on pcs and one thing to say is that you can't changed you cpu or gpu you have to change your whole motherboard to change it
As much as I want to make the jump from my gaming laptop to a desktop, I can't justify the prices. So, I'll keep on clicking by with my little MSI laptop and my Gtx 1050. Lol
so glad i got my build when i did in april 2020 2700x, 16gb 3200mhz ram, b450m, 2tb hdd, 1tb nvme, 750 watt psu, gamdias case and a rog strix 5700xt for 750 cash
It's bad enough I left PC flipping for now. Luckily I've been busy all summer so I haven't had time to do it anyways, but I'm ready for prices to come down to make it viable again.
Hey Greg dont know if youll see this but ive exhausted my resources at this point. When i switched on my PC a couple of days ago, i noticed my 2nd monitor wasnt getting any signal. Its connected via a DP (connected to 970) to HDMI (monitor). Its been like this for 2 months since I built the thing without any issues, this is the first time Ive encountered this. I unplugged the cable from both sides, reseated the GPU, nothing. I went over to a friends and tried to determine the issue by process of elimination. - Checked my cable with another GPUs DP port (1060), no issue - Checked my GPU with another DP to DP cable, no issues - My GPU in his system with MY cable (DP to HDMI), boom, no signal. So in short, my dp to hdmi cable works, as it works with other gpus. The gpu works as it sends signal with a dp to dp cable. Im confident i can rule out my sytem as the issue as my cable and gpu refused to post on 3 separate systems. If you have any clue id really appreciate it because i dont know how itd stop working out of the blue
Over the summer I bought a HP omen 25L for my wife with the 10400f, 1660s, 16 gigs 2666. Bought an Asus 27" 144hz monitor as well the entire amount spent was around 1250. That last system for 2k has some serious padding.
My PC gaming has been a string of shockingly good luck since Nov 2020. I staked out a best buy online drop and nabbed a Ventus 3080, even though I'd done an all-white build. Worked great till last month when I entered the Newegg lottery and won - nabbed a 3080ti Vision. So that went in my rig, Ventus went into my wife's, and now I had an old EVGA 1080ti Blower card that I paid 699.99 MSRP for in Spring 2017. Threw it up on eBay, no reserve - was going to take whatever I got. It sold for $740, even after Ebay's cut I got $640. I gamed on a 1080ti for four years for $100 net. It's bonkers, man.
Built my first rig last September with nearly identical specs as the last ad (not including monitor, peripherals, etc) for a little under $1000 USD.. Even considering today's graphics card market and all the extra stuff they're throwing in, I still think it's about $400-$500 overpriced, and that's being a bit generous.
I refuse to actually sell my old PC parts online right now, I only sell to friends and family, to keep them trading to individuals and not to miners/scalpers
Can tell me why no one will buy my rig for 700 bucks?! These are older components but extremely high quality. I took them out of the older Thermaltake case and replaced it with a very cool Asus Gundam Zaku II case w/RGB fans. Also bought a new power supply and Coolermaster Hyper EVO 212 air cooler. I have had everything checked out by Geek Squad just to make sure everything is 100%. Yes, it is fast. And yes, it will play Fortnite. 1080p at ultra settings. I don't know what prices are currently, but that first ad must me charging one HELL of a builder's fee lmao I'm pretty sure you could still build something now like what ive got (RGB madness really) for
Recently got a system with a ryzen 5 2400G, I gotta say, these amd APUs are a life saver for people on a tight budget. Gives acceptable frames on most stuff I've thrown at it without having to make them look too shabby.
I have a sleeper pc with an i7 4770, 32gb of ram, and a 1060 6gb. Ive got it all in a dell precision case, and I modded it to fit a water cooler. Wouldnt call it high end by any means, but its priceless to me, and I would not sell it. If I was to sell it, its really not worth more than 600$.
Because of all the mining bullcrap and those insane prices i`ve been sticking to gaming laptops for the last couple of years. 1200$ for a 10th gen I7 with RTX 2080 and 16GB ram i`ll take any day ofer a 2000 rig with 1660
I would be doing just that if I lived in Greg's area lol. sadly here in Europe prices just haven't gone up that much, except for the new AMD/Nvidia GPUs, those are still 10% (6900XT) to 90% (3060 Ti) over MSRP (on the 2nd hand market, that is. even though most are new cards sold by scalpers)

My RGB LED Lights weren't working once and I actually wanted nothing to do with the PC because it didn't glow lmao.
Oh boy 😮💨 this is gonna be another banger i can tell
I just sold my old pc for 1500 euro's. 3800x, Nvidia RTX 3070 FE, 16gb DDR4 G.Skill, 2,5 TB for storage, Fractal design define R6, AIO cooler. 2 extra fans but i failed to use the High-End gaming pc tag...
As soon as I read the spelling of the ad ESPECIALLY saying ur instead of your, or you're... Red Flags everywhere!!!
"...I don't think inflation will hit *that* hard."
Well, now you've jinxed it. :p
I died at the "I built this great gaming pc during the stupid lockdown.." part
that " gaming pc" earlier in the video uses the exact same parts as my dads internet consumption pc that he got 13 years ago i think only worth 75 bucks to boot.
Missed these types of videos good content man 🙂
classic restaurant tactic
Caesar salad and crutons = 6.50
Classic Caesar salad, with organic kale and locally sourced parmesian = 10.50
it was always the same dish
I think the only reason people put "high end" in their gaming pc adds is because they hope some naive parents will believe it and buy it for their kid because their kid wanted a "Powerful pc!" for their birthday or christmas.
Sadly i think most of these sellers succeed in screwing a lot of people over since tons of parents aren't exactly well versed in pc gaming parts
2:50 my man i’m proud of you
hey greg love your vids man, keep it up fr.
These 2000$ builds are shocking me. I live in Germany and build a PC this week with a 3060TI, Ryzen 5 5600x 16GB Ram 3600 550 E-Gaming, new SSD, new PSU, new Case, AIO cooling and paid (everything brand new) 1750€ - in $ ~2100
I don't know if the situation in the US is this much worse, but paying 2000$ for a used PC and mediocre configuration, thats insane
I don't know how I didn't see this before, but Greg looking like a laterally compressed Henry Cavill
So, I actually found a card online that is dropping in price and I'm going to wait and see if it drops further before snagging
Genuine question, what were prices like “in the good ole days” I got into PC gaming the passed year so I’ve only see prices they are really high
All the e sports computer I build are never over 350 and that is with monitor and peripherals
Holy crap I seen those graphics cards a while ago and yeah I saw they went for that and thought it was real dumb
It's bad enough I left PC flipping for now. Luckily I've been busy all summer so I haven't had time to do it anyways, but I'm ready for prices to come down to make it viable again.
Same! Try reddit and r/hardwareswap
- Checked my cable with another GPUs DP port (1060), no issue
- Checked my GPU with another DP to DP cable, no issues
- My GPU in his system with MY cable (DP to HDMI), boom, no signal.
FB and CL has been insane in my town. People selling i7 4th gens and 750 or 660s for like 600 bucks
Been rocking my 1060 since it came out. I refuse to pay that much for an upgrade
so glad i bought my rtx 2060 SC Ultimate last year before this all happened
Built my first rig last September with nearly identical specs as the last ad (not including monitor, peripherals, etc) for a little under $1000 USD.. Even considering today's graphics card market and all the extra stuff they're throwing in, I still think it's about $400-$500 overpriced, and that's being a bit generous.
worst, this'll heavily effect next gpu pricing
I refuse to actually sell my old PC parts online right now, I only sell to friends and family, to keep them trading to individuals and not to miners/scalpers
I was at Walmart and I saw a gaming PC with an RTX 2060 for what I think was$724. some of these guys should take some notes
Maybe a tad lower for 1440p
CPU-Intel i7 5930k
GPU's-2x MSI GTX 980s in SLI
RAM-32GB 2666 (Quad Memory)
Drives- Samsung 980 SSD 500GB - M.2 NVMe (Boot Drive)
Samsung 1tb SSD
Motherboard- Asus Rampage Extreme V
Power Supply-Corsair RMx Series 850W 80 Plus Gold
I'm just sitting over here hoping my SLI'd 970s last until I can get a card at MSRP, otherwise I'll be dropping down to a 760 I have laying around.
I'm just now seeing this but my desktop has:
-a z490 mobo
- ASUS 3070 and EVGA 2060S
- I9-10900k
- 128 GB Vengeance RGB Pro ram
- corsair H150I Elite Capellix cpu cooler
- NZXT C850 power supply
- 3 LL140 Corsair fans (2 pull ,1 push)
- 6 LL120 corsair fans(3 on the cpu rad push and 3 on front pull)
-corsair commander pro and corsair commander core controllers
- a 4tb hard drive and two 2tb nvme drives
All in a thermaltake full tower case and it originally cost me ~$2300, price up to like ~$3300 once i added the 3070 in there.
I don't know what prices are currently, but that first ad must me charging one HELL of a builder's fee lmao
I'm pretty sure you could still build something now like what ive got (RGB madness really) for
I have a 1050 ti and I've been waiting and hoping, but luckily I'm a very patient man, so I don't mind waiting.
"Used-Good" 😂😂😂
with nowadays price how much do you think my PC build could go for

Recently got a system with a ryzen 5 2400G, I gotta say, these amd APUs are a life saver for people on a tight budget. Gives acceptable frames on most stuff I've thrown at it without having to make them look too shabby.
Bruhh i feel for you 💀 still rocking apu is tuff
I would save hundreds of dollars going with a 3060 in a prebuilt, compared to some of these listings.
1200$ for a 10th gen I7 with RTX 2080 and 16GB ram i`ll take any day ofer a 2000 rig with 1660
ive sold 3 pcs that i build fresh for cheap then sell them high and rebuy parts and do it again, works evertime.
2:53 the german caught me absolutely off guard what
I have a 2070 Super, Ryzen 7 3700x, and Everything else from Corsair, MSI, SteelSeries and Toshiba.
My god I really need to consider selling my over kill system at these rates. Crazy.
