Camping in Mosquito Infested Forest - Venice 🇮🇹 Brompton Escape | Eurovelo 8 | S1-E8

Its july 2022 and I have decided to go on a bikepacking trip across europe with a six speed brompton loaded with camping gear. Not knowing what to expect I chose Eurovelo 8 Mediterranean Route as my first long distance bike route, that should lead me along the breezy Mediterranean sea.

In this video, you will join me along an exciting eurovelo 8 bikepacking trip as I am leaving Lido Di Venezia with a goal to reach main land. To get there I have to cycle along Venezian empty beach, taking ferry to next island. Pass Pellestrina and get to port as fast as possible to save money on ferry ticket. Along the way I cycled through beautiful Venezian fish towns with breath taking scenery over Venezian laggon. Then after taking another ferryto Chioggia I finally start new part of Velo 8 tour by cycling along Po river. 4 Hours after getting inland i realized my go pro battery died long time ago and i lost half a day footage. Despite this I was able to capture the rest of the day, cycling to Loreo, Papozze, eventually hammock camping in mosquito infested forest 15km before Ferrara. I had no other choice but to drag my Brompton through dirt, setup hammock and survive the night with buzzing mosquitos and scary wildlife sounds.

EuroVelo 8 (EV8), named the Mediterranean Route, is a 7,560 km long EuroVelo long-distance cycling route running from Cadiz, Spain to Athens, Greece, and then continuing to İzmir, Turkey and to the island of Cyprus. The route runs east-west across Europe mainly along or close to the Mediterranean coast, passing successively through 12 countries: Spain, France, Monaco, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, Greece, Turkey, and Cyprus

The lagoon and a part of the city are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Parts of Venice are renowned for the beauty of their settings, their architecture, and artwork.
