    What sticks out to me is "Do as u like. There is no formula, just some things you might want to think for yourself about, how to go about them. " :-) I agree. There is so many different people, opinions and ways out there. It is something so absolutely interesting to me - meeting another touring person and all their ways about it. I feel one is their true individual self out on the bike and the way one does it all, so deflects them. It's amazing!

And I wear it everywhere (except on off-road). (and yes, I have noticed you use it from time to time). And off-course I use the vest daily, throughout the year in Tel Aviv district. Even when I go to supermarket.....

    Eric, this is one of the most informative and well thought out "how to" videos I've seen. So many people are interested in touring, especially during the bike boom we've experienced and this should be very helpful to so many. Great job and keep the shiny side up. Atb, Tony

    Hi Eric and Maudi, Have you ever spent nights in middle of cities? Did you sleep in guest houses or ⛺️ camp? How safe was camping in cities. How did you do your hygiene stuff?
    Thanks

    • @WheelstoWander
      @WheelstoWander  3 роки тому

      Hi Athal! We did in Japan, where it was quite safe to sleep in the cities. Elsewhere we never did that! In the beginning we mostly camped: in Europe (also in japen almost exclusively). Where it was more affordable for us we stayed at hotels more often, also to edit the videos. I think we have a pretty good section in the video about hygiene... All the best!

    Eric, I have a question for you. On the video I think you said budget was about 25 Euros per person per day. However, on The Pursuit Zone podcast I think I heard you say it was about 25 Euros per day for both of you (2 people). In the video did you misspeak? 25 Euros per day for one person sounds expensive. Please clarify you budget individually or as a couple.

      I had a listen and I indeed misspoke! Our budget for the trip was 25 euros for 2 persons per day. Thanks for pointing that out!

    Hi.
    Thanks a lot. Pretty interesting and some useful tips too.
    I wanted to know more about how you carried you cameras while cycling, i mean the DSLR (or mirrorless)? I can only use Gopro but pretty difficult to take out n put back my mirrorless. Any tips will be much appreciated. And how did you carry your laptop?
    I’m a travel filmer, i backpack n film while volunteering. Now i want to do bikepacking.
    Thanks a again. Hope to hear back.

    Hi Eric ! Interesting channel I've just discovered tonight. I'm planning to start a trip in South America and Africa when the things will get better with coronavirus.
    Maybe it's a stupid question but as I'd like to travel with a bicycle too, I'm wondering : how/where do you usually park when you travel ? I mean, inside big cities for example with all your things that could be expansive, how you do ? Do you park outside the city ? Or you find a secure place ?
    Thanks a lot for these inspirationing videos !!

    • @WheelstoWander
      @WheelstoWander  3 роки тому

      Hi Gustave! Thank you :) That sounds like a great adventure about to start. Do you mean park for camping/overnight or going to a grocery store? For an overnight camp we search for a natural area in between cities/villages to "hide away" from people. For groceries try to take the bike inside the shop or put in view. With all of this some countries will be easier going than others. Inform yourself well on the current state of affairs around that topic in every country. All the very best for your upcoming tour!!

    Hi, extremely useful video! Now, if using gps on a phone, and you might still need an internet connection abroad for finding info also. Do u use free wifi at some public places - cafees, stations, libraries etc, maybe you get a sim card for a phone or some other ways?

    • @WheelstoWander
      @WheelstoWander  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks! Yes we did get a simcard with a data limit for most countries. In some more expensive countries like Japan we relied on the vast network of free available internet connections.

    i wish you would post on your videos where the B-roll was filmed. Like the path by the ocean timestamp 6;01. WAs the path 10 km ? or just 1 km long? was it easy to access? can you rent bikes at that location? i have a lot of questions on your b roll. could use more logistics info. Thank You! was hoping to get a " Rick steves". touring book out of it. i went to the Netherlands with Rick Steves Amsterdam guide book.
