130Km Ferrara 🇮🇹 Escape: Heat, Mosquitos & Bivy Camping | Eurovelo 8 | S1-E9

Its july 2022 and I have decided to go on a bikepacking trip across europe with a six speed brompton loaded with camping gear. Not knowing what to expect I chose Eurovelo 8 Mediterranean Route as my first long distance bike route, that should lead me along the breezy Mediterranean sea.

In this video, you will join me along an exciting eurovelo 8 bikepacking trip as I woke up in mosquito infested forest 40km away from Venezia. My goal for the day was to bike as much as possible and get to Turin in 3 days because it will be raining in whole italy. So I biked to Francolino to nearest water point to fill up my water and clean myself up after rough night in forest. Then I biked to Ferrara to ressuply and work in shopping mall fore few hours. Next I backtracked to Eurovelo 8 and continued along Po river. At 5 Pm I stopped at Sermide to eat a dinner at shopping mall parking lot. Fed and sleepy from insane burning sun and heat I continued further. But despite trying I could not find suitable camping spot for hammocking or bivy camping. So I cycled further until 11pm after 130km I decided to stop and stealth camp at side of quiet road. I layed down my bivy and hoped to survive another mosquito infested night just sleeping in bivy without bugnet.
