Thanks Greg Marguerite - i think your reading voice rocks - i used your recording of 2nd variety as the narration for a uni project graphics controlled sound track app. so heard it repeated a lot and never got sick of it so thanks for that too
I believe PKD was married 5 times and I think it was his 2nd wife that was always wanting nice things and he stated he had to take speed in order to write at a pace to always have stories for sale to keep his wife's finances in order. This most likely had a lot of influence on the creation of this story.
At this point I can't even listen to Greg Marguerite anymore. His cadence is identical in every story he reads sounding like a horrible caricature of William Shatner. There is really no reason to read words this way. It's very disappointing so many great audio books have only one voice reading them. Certain vocal styles absolutely ruin the presentation for many of us. There needs to be a wider range of choices regarding who is reading these books aloud.
Marguerite has done some narrations where he doesn't affect that ridiculous voice & the stories are fine. It's really very disappointing & annoying when he does though. I hear that choppy voice bullshit & I shut it off immediately.

I expected a longer story, but overall :-)
Is this the full version?
I love Phillip K Dick's novels but Greg Marguerite's reading put me to sleep within about 10 minutes.
