I've been referring to defensive Playstation fans as 'Cultists' for a while just messing but the more bad decisions Playstation makes the more it looks like an abusive relationship and the more it genuinely looks like a cult. At this point I'm just going to assume Jim is a secret Xbox fan on a sabotage mission because it's the only thing that makes sense to me right now with these choices.
PlayStation is in the difficult spot where it lacks the resoucrses to take Gamepass head-on. As a result, its business model feels incredibly outdated. Right now, the PS5 is selling out, and for a marked-up price, to boot, but this will not last. You can coast on brand name only for so long before people realize that the value proposition is absolutely horrendous. Sony was lucky that Microsoft botched 2022, that's the only silver lining. But come 2023, and assuming the Activision deal goes through... I wouldn't want to be a Sony executive, let's just say that.

Great video most of the PS4 gen made PS so arrogant. I got into the Xbox ecosystem because of family members got me into console, I've since bought a Series X. I've left PS completely because of all the things Xbox is doing, I haven't experienced FOMO yet whenever it comes to the PS5 console. I think it's sad all the wrong things Sony is has been doing since the PS4 generation. It's just to me for a long time now SIE has been a bully whenever it comes to Xbox & I'm against that. Well that & I couldn't afford both next gen consoles so I chose Xbox & the grass is SO much greener on that side of the fence.
Great video, but would you believe you forgot to mention even more anti-consumer and anti-competitive moves Sony has been making, including paying 3rd party publishers to keep their content off Gamepass, on top of locking the best of Japanese developer content off other platforms since the PS1

Your video is on point ! Great job. But you forgot some of the other mistakes that Sony did such as : 1. Sony closing the online playstation stores for ps3 games. I owned a couple of ps3 digital games online but my ps3 broke down by the time I bought the ps4 one month after Sony raised the price of the ps4 by $ 50 only because I'm in Canada. Finding a new ps3 console is next to impossible unless I order it on Amazon but even then, it's pointless to own one anyway because the playstation online store on the ps3 won't let you download all your previously purchased digital games anyway if you uninstalled them from the ps3 hard drive. 2. Horizon Zero Dawn was a good game but, when Legend of Zelda Breath of The Wild came out, it was quickly forgotten plus, it didn't help that Mass Effect Andromeda came out during that same year too. In 2022, when Horizon Forbidden West was released with bugs and Gran Turismo was released with ridiculous transactions, both games were quickly forgotten because Elden Ring came out that same year. So, when God War Ragnarok comes out this year, it will be overshadowed by Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2. 3. Sony paid Capcom to avoid putting their games on Gamepass. 4. Sony paid Square Enix to avoid putting Final Fantasy Remake 7 on Xbox for a couple more months. 5. Sony scrapping the online customer service chat feature when it was already difficult to get a hold of Sony customer representative over the phone. 6. Sony's customer service is locked behind a pay wall meaning you won't get served first and you receive excellent customer service unless you paid a premium tier playstation subscription monthly fee. 7. If your playstation online account gets hacked and your credit card info was compromised and you were charged for a game that you did not purchase, Sony does not refund you, your money. But if you go the bank or credit card company and you get your money back, Sony bans your playstation account and the only way to lift the ban is to pay Sony more money. I already bought an xbox series x but I haven't bought the ps5. But because I'm in Canada, I will never buy it because of the $50 price increase and also the decrease in ps5 quality. At this point, I'm better off getting a PC because Sony releases playstation exclusives on PC day and date soon...it's inevitable.

People talk so much about the market position Microsoft will have in the gaming market, and how it could use it in a negative way. who conveniently forgot to look at the current leader, and realize that the anti-consumer practices they so fear are already being used by Sony Playstation. this goes from an increase in content pricing. even more so in the practice that they were so afraid that Xbox would use: of focusing on making a lot of games as a service to inflate the library.
Speaking out about what they have to change is so important. I had an Xbox 360 and it was my fav console at the time, but only bought an Xbox One five years after it was released, because I couldn't support Xbox with all the policies and stuff they came up with. I do have a ps5, I was super happy with my ps4, so many good memories, but Sony (aka Jim Cryan) makes me regret buying the ps5 everyday. We need better!

I’m fairly new to the PS eco system. I had a PS2 and only payed Third Strike Street Fighter. During the Xbox 1/PS4 era. I played WOW on PC. Now, I have a PS5 and SX. I’m fairly disappointed with my PS5. My console is only for 1st party exclusives. Everything else is PC. Xbox has a much better ecosystem for gaming thus far. Hopefully things turn around.

I haven’t watched the video yet clearly but I agree with the title. I bought a ps5 along with my Xbox this gen and have been disappointed with the new generational stuff (backlog of ps4 games and ps1,2,3 steaming games has been great though). Apart from the controller upgrade and ratchet and clank there’s been nothing that really felt “next gen” and as of right now there’s nothing that’s probably going to feel truly “next gen” until Spider-Man imo.
Gamers of no matter what platforms really need come together to control these mega corporations. It only benefits all. To defend your master who gonna charge you more and more and more and more…is insane. After almost all management from PS4 era resigned, after they destroyed Japan studio, after they go all in for mobile and gaas money…no way I can stay and continue support their platform no matter how much playstation brand means gaming to me. I literally moved to xbox this gen when they announced Bethesda. Ive always been on ps but its becoming a joke and the only people who are happy are actual fanboys. gamepass has made my ps plus pointless so im not renewing it. I buy all 3rd party now on xbox and the Sony exclusives ill buy preowned. I haven't bought a game on ps this year either because they dont appeal to me Forza is superior to gt7 and horizon I couldn't really get into so haven't bothered with the new one. As for god of war im bored of them now it looks good ill play it but im more looking forward to doom, fable,starfield,zelda,pokemon,cod,bethesda games, crash bandicoot, spyro. basically if I new what I know now that Sony is supporting ps4 till 2025 I wouldn't of bought a ps5.

I really hope things can get better for Playstation/Sony, Sony is currently worth of 84 billion dollars, if they lose 24 billion dollars in value, they will be pretty much the same value as Fox, when Disney bought Fox, and with how less impactful IPs Sony have in Hollywood than Fox, and Disney almost no presence in the other markets that Sony is present in, which would make it hard to make a good argument about monopoly, they might be able to buy Sony, and i don't want Disney to buy Sony, much less Disney being like, a main brand in the console market ruling over Playstation.

ps is doing what comes natural when u are the market lead. Take Nvidia for example, amd is no where near what they can produce and that is why their prices are red alerts. Same with xbox, sure next year will be good as two or more AAA games are coming but that is still not a definite thing as starfield is too ambitious and that might be delayed and redfall is at least 80 percent coming next year and that is only one game with the best chance of coming next year.

actually the opposite is true. xbox is losing momentum. Ebay prices for sold series X consoles are hovering around 400-450, not even above the retail price anymore. ALSO, you have too much faith that Redfall, starfield, Forza and whatever else game will launch in time in 2023. I dont even think Hellblade 2 is 2023.
