Entitlement and kumbaya often comes after failing. Gaming is a business and usp's are imperative to sell to your product. Sony and Nintendo are hardware companies, Microsoft are not. They're trying to corner the market by acquiring as much publishing talent as possible. I think they have no choice but to put their games everywhere due to the fact they aren't selling enough hardware, software or subs to claw back or make profit on the monies spent over the past decade. MS just aren't as adept in the console game and haven't been is the end of the 360 era. They've had more studios under them yet find managing their output hard in regards to quality and frequency.. I'm not celebrating... I'm truly ticked that they'd even consider going back on Bethesda exclusivity. As a PS & Bethesda fanboy I only purchased a Series X for the Bethesda games they said would not be available on PS. The box serves no other purpose for me and if they take that away I genuinely have no reason to buy the next Xbox or even boot-up the Series X again. I've detested MS for years for their stupid decisions and this just trashes their image more. I'm pissed they conned me into a console purchase, and as it is, I just smh whenever I have to touch a Xbox controller or look upon the Xbox home screen. I'll be glad to put that away for good.

They said forever ago that they plan on being a software company, and just developing hardware and technology in order to play that software. 2. If PlayStation decided for whatever reason to monopolize (even though nintendo exist. And PC gaming) that wouldn’t work out for them. As once prices get too absurd, people will stop buying them. The technical gap between consoles generation will be minimal going forward, whether xbox competes in the consoles market or not and at the end of the day they are businesses, they need growth. The future is mobile, mobile phones are getting better each year, hell the iphone 17 can even run recently launched console games, yeah there are some problems like heating and battery but they are gonna improve. The best selling console ever is ps2 with 160 units sold in its lifetime, apple sells over 200 million iphones each year and the number is only increasing, all of them are not gamers but even if a fraction of them buys video games, its a huge potential market. I’m from India and consoles are not very famous here, but man do they spend so much time and money in mobile games which are mostly low quality mobile games but they are provided with these console games mobile, I assure you this industry will explode. Consoles are mostly sold in Europe, US and Japan, there are gamers in other countries who do not have the consoles but they do have mobile phones. Why do you need a separate box to play games if the mobile in your pocket can do the same job. Im not saying that we will all be playing on mobile screen though, connect to a tv if you like. Xbox going third party is just the start, eventually all three are gonna be publishing console quality games on mobile phones. This news shoukdnt be surprising though, they have been saying it for so long that they want to make 3 billion gamers, so why does this surprise people when they start executing their idea.
