I've had this chair for 2 years, I sit at 3k rating in Iracing. This chair does the trick perfectly and for a budget. I just got my Fanatec CSL Elite pedals, let's see if this takes me to the next level. Nice review mate.
I bought one pretty recently on sale and I could not be happier! It's so perfect for my use, plenty rigid for my use case with Assetto Corsa and BeamNG and the wheel translates some feel to the seat so it may be more communicative than some more expensive rigid setups. My only complaints are that the steering wheel plate doesn't fit my Fanatec CSR (so I have to use the clamp for now) and there's no adapter for a gear shifter. Both problems can be solved with some mild DIY, drill some holes for the wheelbase and hack a 35mm TV pole for $35 to make a shifter mount. Still way less expensive than the next best option!
@@PaultheSimRacer just purachased it! I also have the same wheel your using. The pedals are different. Did you come from the T3pa pedals? If so, how do they differ from the fanatec pedals your Using? Tanx again
@@always_trust_all_scientists I had the T3pa's - the problem with them is that they don't have a load cell pedal. I have this chair for a year. 5 10 215. I taped pool noodles to the arms to snug up the seat. I do push up on the wheel to make it more stable when I’m driving and it matters.
I find the pedals being lower relative to your seating position the most comfortable and most precise as far as inputs. I also find it much more enjoyable that way. After all you are not limited by the real life position of pedals and seating that you have to adhere to.
Thank you so much for this video. I live in the US, retired and travel full time in a 34 foot RV with my wife. We have VERY limited room and I just got into Sim racing. This video helped me decide to buy one since I can put it away after use. Only thing for me is I have to figure out where to put a monitor. Right now I use a laptop to play and there is no mounting place for it.
Thank you for the review! Very focused and covered important points. One thing I missed in all the reviews I have watched, including this one, is what is the height of your eye level line. This is very important for me, since I pretend to use it in front of my office desk, where the center of my 35" UWide monitor is at around 103 cm (top of the desk is at 74cm). BTW, I am 1,72m.

Excellent review! I wanted this thing since it was announced over 6 years ago. I've got the Fanatec Wheel Stand which is ok. I may have to get this for Christmas!
This chair is amazing especially if you have limited space, super easy to fold up and put away. Its really comfortable and sturdy. Definitely a good buy!
I recently bought the playseat challenge x and I'm very happy with it. I was playing on an ergonomic office chair, locked against my bed with some furniture piece. Seting it up for playing was pain in the but and I was a bt worried that I'll damage my chair. I did my research on different seats, and this one is truly foldable, like you've seen it in the video. Earlier I was wondering if I want to struggle with setting up everything and oftenly I gave up on playing because it wasn't a pleasure. Now I'm ready to play in 2 minutes in a decent chair :) I have G29 and it works great.
I am trading my heavy rseat for a playseat challenge. Moving from a house to an apartment the storage benefits sold me on this unit probably 5 years ago in anticipation of this day. Thanks for the excellent video.
If you want to get creative, I have DIYed and shifter mount and also mounted Dayton Audio Tactile Transducer Pucks. The transducers sit under each side of the pedles and on each side of the back of my Play seat Challenge. The seat is durable, very well made and fairly sturdy. The best part it all folds away. Running VR, so my whole rig is a computer, a wireless keyboard and the Play seat All can be packed up and stored in 5 mins. The transducer work very well and sitting in VR with them is pretty nice I gotta say. Great review
Good review, I totally agree with your comments on living in a small apartment and the Playseat Challenge. It is a game changer. Also I am not the smallest human, I weigh in at 90kg and I am 180cm (6ft). The seat is very comfortable and I can easily play for many hours no worries. Another little thing I have discovered - a buttkicker gamer fits perfectly on the lower legs and works a treat! Good video!

And to know you can be competitive in it is a nice bonus. Good job btw! 👍 Thanks for the review! It was EXACTLY what I needed to squelch my concerns with the Playseat Challenge! Thank you! 😊
Not only does it work fine with the Fanatec V3's (which are like the CSL Elites) - but I now run Heusinkveld Sprints on it and it's ABSOLUTELY fine :) so yeah you'll be good if you do those cable ties up really tight!

Great review. I'm definitely going to pick up one of these. Would you say the chair is stable enough for F1 games, the feedback being quite substantial?
Its not a bad chair. But its a bit of a pain to get in and out of it sits very low. Also the angle of the headrest is annoying. It curves inward forcing you to kinda lean your head forward which is unnatural. Its even more annoying if you like to play in VR. Just something to keep in mind. Otherwise it is a solid chair. Also there's no shifter mount for a h shifter so you'll have to jury rig something or find a 3d printed adapter online just be aware most are wobbly.

My g29 is messing up. Thinking of just upgrading to the fanatec csl elite. With the cheap pedals they come with. The g29 rn is so expensive and the fanatec is same price as normal
honestly it looks like its not that sturdy.
i'd recommend anyone to look at your local pvc prices. and look up a blueprint for a decent PVC rig. get a nice carpet to go underneath and you're good.
I have one question: How can you put the seat away when you still have all the cables from the steeringwheel?
I think most wheels have long enough cables to properly route them on the seat.
yeah I just have either cables attached to the seat, or things ready for it to plug into (e.g. a male to female usb extension).
I always just unplugged from my PC and power brick. I only had 2 cables. I use the same practice with my collapsible stand. Unless you have a bunch of cables, that might be best practice.
I would have got this but my desk is too high and doesn't help that I'm a shorty either.
The Next level racing GT lite is better option for me.
Thanks for share yours impresions, it's confortable if you spend long hours playing??
Yeah seems fine for me
Yes very comfortable
I wonder what they are like for the more expensive inverted pedals.
I don't really want to be competitive I just want to have a gd time with a bit of comfort
me too man
until after youve had a bit of fun, you want to do a little better, then a little better still, then next think you know everyone is calling you competitive : )
@@ajoc8190 I am now very competitive with a full sim rig like pedals wheel and the stand. I'd like to say I'm pretty good
Great review. I'm definitely going to pick up one of these. Would you say the chair is stable enough for F1 games, the feedback being quite substantial?
Definitely should be okay.
How do connect a t300 wittige fanatec pedals? Thank you for your answer🙏😊
Seems like there is a LOT of wobble on the wheel base when driving
How much is it?
Is it comfort for F1 game?
What´s your opinion about the fanatec clubsport v2 pedals? In 2021 they still a good choice? or not?
