You can find a 6800 xt which is similar performance for $1300 scalper prices. (Still way too much but not $5k and certainly better than 3080 pricing)

to be fair, living with parents is not a big deal. I do to, I save a fuck ton of money on rent, utilities and power. I can contribute my savings to my parents and help around the house given they are getting older. So in a way it's a win win, minus the whole privacy thing is the only issue lol.

Well when you treat your employees well often times they "borrow" things from you under the assumption that if they asked you'd probably say yes. The reality is it's company equipment and his nice nature doesn't mean he's willing to lose money to be nice.
Out of all the tech upgrades I've watched this one is by far my favorite setup. Clean and utilitarian. Each spot has a purpose while optimizing the space to the best of its capabilities.

Never saw the issue of staying long with your parents if there's enough room to be an adult. Close with your family (without still being the kid) should be seen positively.

Intel doesn't need him to promote their products but just to bring attention to it. Most people who watch him already knows about the technical details that even if Linus were to lie about something they can find it out. And those that don't have the knowledge just buys prebuilts, and so they wouldn't risk being caught up in a scandal or something because even if they don't care about us they don't want AMD to capture more of the market.

@@fuzzyhair321 I've had the exact opposite problem. I've been running AMD since like 2007 and every time I get something Intel based, it craps out on me within the year. I've eaten up two 6700ks and one of them wasn't even over clocked. Meanwhile, I'm using an old phenom ii from 2009 in my movie server pc. That's mainly why I've stuck with AMD CPU/APUs.
Personally I think it should be "to each their own" but I'm really happy to See AMD smacking Intel around after all the shit I got from my friends running i7 3930k to current Gen CPUs (I even had a 3930 at one point it shorted out 6 months after install and destroyed my ausu rampage.

They probably give out stuff all the time, or do you think everything getting removed from their limited storage is manually put on craigslist and sold for a few bucks return, if any considering the labor cost? Linus isn't actually thinking "either you have an internal order tracking number for the acceptance of possesion of this item or it has been stolen from us". Of course he's chill about things like this, and that they most likely are NOT stolen.

Yes, this is by far the best setup from this series. All essential gaming needs fulfilled, from retro to the latest. Gonna copy this setup later.
All these videos lead me to believe that working for LMG comes with a multi-thousand dollar gaming PC as a signing bonus.

This is crazy cause it's SO similar to my own setup, even down to the PC cases. I love it. I just have my server/render rig in the H440 and my main rig in the Meshify. Also using a janky splitter for capture purposes. Big fan of this one, makes me feel understood. XD
i could see myself having a room a lot like that with tons of old consoles and comfy seating all around to get friends together to play games and stuff. by far my favorite room in any of these intel upgrade videos

Watching this series while in the process of buying a house is definitely giving me some ideas of how I can set up stuff better at my new house.
This is the coolest setup I've seen in this series I think, so practical gamer-wise, I doubt it could get much better than that.
Just FYI: the color issues happening in the corner of the CRT are from the magnets in those speakers - you shouldn’t put a CRT that close to unshielded speakers, not only will it mess with the image but given enough time it will ruin the TV.

Out of all the Extreme Tech Upgrades so far this is definitely my favorite. It has everything I would want. So good! :)
I've been watching LMG videos for the last 4 years, and i have to say, in the last 12 months i've seen the intro get better and better, give the person responsible for the animation mor money, they deserve it..
Both RAM kits being Corsair's, I wouldn't be surprised if it was possible to swap the heatspreaders from the fancy ones to the faster ones.

The dominator ram has leds on it while the other doesn't so even if the mounting is the same and both sticks have same chips on the same positions so the heatspreder fits perfectly you still cant power the leds on the dominator ram so i dont think its worth swapping them even if its it's possible.

I liked how the camera captured the diference in speed of the monitors, the horizontal is smooth while the vertical is flickering a bit because of the shutter speed.

@@Soum.i I really wish that game would be optimized better for newer hardware. I have a 2080 Super and I get like 30 FPS once I get past 100k citizens. My most recent game file that I've been working on peaks at 28GB of RAM while loading up. I have 32GB in my system and it's the only time I've ever worried about not having enough RAM

@@CursedSouthwest Honestly, the game isn't super GPU heavy to begin with. A Ryzen 5 might actually be decent if you turn the texture resolution down in the settings. I say give it a try anyway

kept the h440, love to see it....one of my favorite cases I've built in and still houses my daily driver. My work computer is in a meshify c so I can understand the choices here.

I knew that case looked familiar... NZXT H440, I have the same case, with the similar 3080 FTW3 Ultra, but I added a front panel mod. Where I cut the panel and added a nice metal grill in the front to accommodate more cooling!

Half expected to see Melee set up. My brother's a competitive smash player and has told me that the Trinitrons are basically the best monitor/tv for competitive play on a retro console. In most cases the output for an old console is going to be analog and most HDMI mods work after the system has already converted it's digital signals to HDMI. As a result using HDMI on an older console almost always introduces more lag than using a decent quality CRT with analog connections (even if a modern monitor has analog inputs it still has to convert to digital then display it). Trinitrons in particular are good because they are sharper and faster than other CRT technologies (Sony invented Trinitron but licensed it to a few other manufactures as well). With the PS2 there is an alternative option that may be just as fast if not faster (I've not seen it tested) with a newer mod that has to be soldered onto the PS2s motherboard. I don't remember the name of the mod off hand (MVG did a video on it) but what it does is it takes the internal digital signals created by the PS2 and directly converts them to HDMI which results in a much better conversion. Since it's not converting to analog first then back like other HDMI mods it may be just as fast as using an analog cable/CRT.

My 25 year old daughter lives at home with us, we love having her at home.
as long as they're respectful and responsible enough to take care of themselves. I don't see why people find it to be such a big issue for people to live with their parents.

As a 20 years old asian boy, I was living alone because university.
But when covid hit, my parents picked me up and force me to stay with them.
I'm still paying for my condo that no one uses and also paying my mom to help clean my room when I'm busy playing games.
It's nice when you don't have to pay for food and being able to talk to family tho.

This is by far the best tech upgrade so far. Living in your parents' basement is now underrated.
Its the best play paying rent to some landlord is a fools game save and get an rv or a camper etc cheaper than a house and you can go wherever you want
it always has been underrated ;) live with your parents for like ten years until you save up for your own house that way you never have that shit apartment that most people have at the begining

I would've personally put the upgraded system inside the Meshify 2, given how much airflow and higher quality the case is. But I can see why Chase would like the customized NZXT case.
also the nzxt case is really quite for the amount of airflow it dose have.
I have a stickerbombed corsair case that I was really unwilling to take my rig out of, but I was having too many space issues and needed to lol.
it a pain in the ass mounting gpu in that h440 case and the screws are shit, coming from a h440 and went to a lian li 2

To fix that color issue in the bottom right corner, move the speaker with the massive driver magnet away from the CRT lol

My old sony tv did the same exact thing. Careful with it now though, mine became top heavy after losing that front lip. But the one i have is bigger so yours might be fine.
