So, my wife and I watched this video right before bed. I had a dream last that I showed up to the Whale Lan, got one of these awesome computers, and immediately swapped out the motherboard and processor. Team red for life!!!
Shipped with zero support on the monster GPU (that was sagging badly) and then Linus just drips the box on the table. This is amateur hour stuff here. I’d be extremely unhappy if I paid for that system.
A lot of people have commented this already, but... For the love of all that is holy, PLEASE give those 4090s some kind of support bracket! We don't need any cracked memory chips in these things.
Yeah, it's pretty bad. No custom cooling, terrible CPU choice for a gaming PC (7800X3D is faster). A single NVME instead of maxing out the 5 NVME slots the motherboard has. The 4090 AIB is only mid tier (there are plenty of better cooled and faster models). RAM is barely 6000 MTs and is also only 64GB when RAM is now dirt cheap. You can easily find faster 2x48GB kits for a similar price.
AIO? That doesn't seem premium for a "$10k" price tag (I realize the PC is only a portion of the cost). How about custom water cooling loop? Or just awesome all Noctua setup. Otherwise, the build looks pretty nice.
- Case designed for the richest whales - 'Top of the line' - An actual whale deco and matching sea color scheme - No full custom watercooling paaaaasss.
The way he unboxed that was as if there was only a case in there :O .... That hurt once I realized there was a finished computer with a giant GPU hanging in there.

Couple of things worth noting is that they forgot the back-plating bracket to the right of the slots is completely exposed, no GPU support brace keeping it from sagging and damaging the GPU [ Which is happening alot now these days since GPU manufacturers are starting to save on the pcb and there for easier to crack it ] plus the motherboard slot that it is in can get damaged aswell in shipping. There is blue tape with the number 1 on it on the lower back end ( Why? ), also the PSU shields i can overlook from the side panel side but what about the top side... And there is the motherboards back plate slot there seems to be a Hole next to the Fan mount sorta exposing free flow there.

It sure sounds like one of them
The Logo is a Hammer! -Literally Noone.
10k dollars and not even 4 ram sticks, great value.... lol, but they have golden shit on it
The pc is not 10k dollars that's the entire vip ticket with a bunch of other stuff
Whale PC by Bluehorse Studios so sick !!! Good job guys !! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
The logo bro I can’t
Path tracing in Cyberpunk does not require those GPUs. Runs on any GPU with hardware raytracing.
to run it at any reasonable fps it does
For $10k would expect, custom hard line water cooling.
The PC itself is valued at $5k, $10k is just the price for the VIP package to the event
@@James-134 So the swag bag and services at the two day event = $5k???
@@BansheeBunny You get a lot more stuff, it wouldn't surprise me if they're losing money. You get a ton of LTT merch (including $300 backpack, screwdriver and lots of clothes), the roughly 5K PC, 2 tickets to LAN, luxury hotel room for the full stay, food and drinks paid for, full tour around LTT, meet and greet lots of staff, best seats in the house, etc.
@@James-134there's no way that PC is valued at 5k

for that price id expect atleast a Antisag bracket
that packing toss into the chair was 🤌
Ouch! 3d12 to the liver! I know it's not meant to be a $10K system, but omg, what a letdown.
The cherry on top is the utter cheaping out by using an X540 instead of the better, and cooler running,X550. Crunchy gpu and no brace are runners up. Hopefully, he kicks in a screwdriver and backpack to mitigate the sting.
$10000 PC ... with Linus jank as a bonus!
I'm not usually thrilled about the rainbow barf, but this one looks cool AF. Good job Starforge!
Didn't knew they made a version for xQc - very good marketing actually!
I just found out about whale lan and all the whale tickets are sold out, all office tours are sold out and all the labs tours are sold out
It looks like all the vip stuff is completely sold out
Reminds me of the scalpers days
6:50 Yeah, that awful gameplay footage...apparantly video codecs don`t play well with capturing pathtracing. I remember something about that from Digital Foundry`s video on Quake RTX
Dude I was wondering about that rough footage. Lol I thought they were using a 2007 era LCD panel at first.
"and now...to go even further...beyond!" **grunting noises and yelling**
ah that crunch on the gpu and from Gigabyte no less with their cracking pcb's lately. Personally i would have gone with AMD 7950x3d and 7900XTX as well
7900s have some weird power consumption problems I wouldn't buy one unless you don't care that your gpu is pulling 200-250w while playing f2p 10 year old game
@@wapniak666 3090 and 3090 ti has insane power consumption, did you say something about that?
@@NXDf7 sure but both amd and nvidia cards have comparable power consumption when maxed out
The difference is that your 4080 pulls 60w while running overwatch while 7900 goes to 200+w for nor reason
AMD needs to fix power consumption in idle and low intensity scenarios which are waaaay more common that running a furmark lol

I'm really liking this new-ish LTT where Linus gets to do a lot more videos. Keep up the work guys
its exactly the same wtf are you on?
I love the dbrand style relationship ltt and starforge are making
What else do you get with this? How much are tickets to the lan party.
My PC is i9 13900k, 64gig of 6400 ddr5 ram, Asus 4090 strixx oc, 4 tb Samsung 980 pro 2tb of 990 pro,EVGA z790 aorus master, same aio cooler, 9 lian LI inf 120 fans and 3 140s all in a phanteks nv7 and cost just over $4500. 10k for that PC is criminal for it to come with no sag bracket.
Exactly, a 5K PC with a 5K bonus on top because why not lmao, gotta make it sound expensive. And im sure even with shipping, custom design and labor LTT didnt cross the 7 000$ mark by far.
The cablemod cable can still cause "fires", as do their connectors. You just need to fit the connector properly and have no issue.
The cable bracket Linus broke is supposed to stop the 12VHPWR cable from bending too much and causing the melting issue 🫠
this video is out of this world...
"Hey check out this pimp out pc!"
"SEE YA!"
Not having a connector fully plugged in is what causes the melting issue. The plastic shield cable mod includes is supposed to be a reference on the 3.5cm clearance needed from the case.
@@themadrusski2256 they can also melt being fully plugged in as well. its not user error its the design of the plug itself. nvidia revamped it w a new plug now.
Yeah, Linus usually points out things like this too.
A lot of people have commented this already, but...
For the love of all that is holy, PLEASE give those 4090s some kind of support bracket!
We don't need any cracked memory chips in these things.
Is that the best fan config?
Sure hope if I spent a 1/4 of my annual on a whale ticket I did Not get the one Linus roughed up lol
Super sick! Can’t wait to get up to LTX one of these years
I am not a fan of that PC. But hey, if you paid $10k for the thing, you'd probably convince yourself you love it.
It’s not even custom water cooled 😂
@@edmac1090custom water cooling is the most overrated thing on the planet, the only thing that beats AIO CPU cooling.
@@williamkelley1971 for $10k the PC better be custom water cooled with gamer girl bathwater.
5k pc plus a 5k premium 😅
AIO? That doesn't seem premium for a "$10k" price tag (I realize the PC is only a portion of the cost). How about custom water cooling loop? Or just awesome all Noctua setup. Otherwise, the build looks pretty nice.
they are getting more than just the PC for the 10k
You are buying the “brand” for 10k 😂
@@Bradyboy26 I know. That's why I put the price in quotes.
The price of everything is $4500 not including the fact the case is custom. Considering they list it as a $5k PC, that's pretty spot on
- Case designed for the richest whales
- 'Top of the line'
- An actual whale deco and matching sea color scheme
- No full custom watercooling
paaaaasss.
As someone who loves to build my own PC, I would buy a starforge system purely for the penis logo
I wish they could sell their custom ordered cases stand alone. I want to build my own pc. And the MECH case just looks awesome
The Core P6 comes with a GPU anti sag bracket. It defiantly needs it.
Used that same case for my sister's build. Only she wanted the green one. Case is amazing.
What case is that? I'm building a new system soon and that one looks amazing
@@peterfreundl8012 Thermaltake core p6
@peterfreundl8012 just saw this, but yes it's the thermaltake p6, it's $199 usd last I checked. It's pricey but that it one solid case.
The Aero comes with an awesome GPU bracket....why wouldn't they use it?!
It does not fit from the 4 times I have built in that case
The way he unboxed that was as if there was only a case in there :O .... That hurt once I realized there was a finished computer with a giant GPU hanging in there.
10k dollars and its not even custom water cooled. For an underwater themed pc. What an absolute scam
…. No.
10k for a whale ticket that includes a pc. Not 10k for a pc standalone.
its 10,000 for the ticket and PC, theres other stuff that comes with it.
its not 10k for the pc its a side gift when spending 10k on whale tickets for LTX 2023
It shouldve been a mineral oil pc, would fit the theme way better xD
After their last roast, Starforge paid Linus to give them better ratings
They surely polished the tip of the hammer
Should have commisioned Nerdforge to make a customer GPU stand/bracket. A stack of money or something. LTT really did Starforge a solid by commissioning this project.
Thought I would mention what your 10k gets you, cause it's not just the PC.

Me: Yes.
4:25 Yep, that's a gigabyte GPU alright.
that network card screamed for a 3d printed cover..
could've used a custom loop instead of that tiny aio lol
Custom loops require maintenance that limit who can purchase it and might be more prone to damage in shipping though
Wow, that gold and teal looks fantastic.
Yeah I'm sorry I'm not paying the equivalent of a decent used car for a PC that doesn't even have custom water cooling lol. Cool design though!
