I kinda knew the glow pigment wasn't going to affect the colors, but was taken aback by just how much GLOW they still had considering how meh most glow pigment is.
But in a sense a lot ofglow pigment is actually kind of "clear" when it dries unless it doesn't have other colors to contend with. The pigment isn't very visible to the human eye at that point. Kinda like how certain other white stuff can be actually clear. Like with acrylic paints, you can add a "medium" to them that thins them down without losing consistency as much as with water, so that they go on with more transparency so that if you're building up colors, the under layers still play a role.
Also Elmer's school glue is very white until it dries.
But seriously. I've never seen anything glow this intensely while being mixed with another color. That's impressive, and I want a car with this now.

I'd like to see how much the glow pigment influences the shade. Like a side by side with and without. I say this, because I think it'd be amazing to use a glow mix to make a design that is invisible during the day and visible at night. But to do that and have it be invisible, the shades would have to be nearly identical.

    • @adde9506

what you could try doing instead is this:
sppray just the standard pearls base coat over everything. then mask off half of your design on the body with tape or vinyl or something, then spray the glow pigment mixed with an evaporative thinner to atomize it (just like DipYourCar did to paint pearls over musou black), and spray only the design area with the glow

    What would be really cool...
if you paint the car normally and put the glow affect only on certain areas of the car. Cool ideas for this:
    - A "Starsky and Hutch" style racing stripe on the side / roof that you only see in the dark.
    - Apply it only around where any chrome and logos are - and around windows
    - Do one of those "fire paint jobs", but have the flames glow in the dark.
    - Do only around edges with a black background, giving your car the "Tron" look at night.
    so many ideas

When I was a kid we used to have a powder coating shop and I used to mix powders and create exotic colors. I once mixed some pearls and candies with a little glow and made the most intense vibrant rainbowish glowing color I have ever seen like a oil slick. I've done this with mica pigments and epoxy resin, you can add 2 to 1, glow powder 2, color 1, (even 3 to 1), and in resin the glow does not affect the color at all. Color shift included... I would like to try temp changing pigments, with color...I also would like to say, there's blue and purples glow pigments, they have worked the same. But I did like you, kept green base with the green glow, blue with blue, and purple with purple or pink. With no change in the color, including color shift pigments. But with really cool glows.

I’m no expert either, but if it works the same as make up, the black base actually helps the pigment pop. It’s a trick to use black paint or eyeliner under really colorful (especially the pigments that have sheen or shift) eyeshadows to make the most out of the color. .....it’s late and I’m so tired. I hope this helped. I did not do my best at explaining.

Holy crap dude! Even if it were a total failure, I would've enjoyed the video. But they worked!! Man if I had stupid money, I would so do stupid things! Lmao
You'll have to make a video when you peel off the EVO to see if it peels right. Same with the thermochromatic one too

Ok, I gotta ask. Is this tinted plastic spray on wrap or actual multi-stage paint? It’s super cool.

I wonder what would happen if you mixed separate colors/pigments together, then mixed in the glow powder? Also would you do one where you'd mix all the yellows together? This was awesome.

    Ztn was my fav!
I bet doing layers on top of the shift spray would enlong the glow, not sure though it would be good to see if extra coats would wash out the nice color.

Amazing end results... who would have predicted that. Have you ever tried EL (electro-luminescent) as a base coat with glow in dark and color shift on top. It could be done in key areas rather than entire car. Hard to get constant application over large areas.

That was a fun experiment to watch. Besides the glow outcome that you were looking for, I liked all the colors. But the color that I wasn't expecting and somewhat surprised by was the 4th color. It was really unusual and I liked it for that reason. Thanks guys

what brand of glow pigment were you using? the particle size had to be small for the sprayer? how different was the weight to volume ratio between the mica and the glow pigment?

Wow so cool, .....I thought to myself, there's no way it was gonna still glow seeing how all the colors were keeping their boldness...pretty damn cool and clever for the person that wants the night glow and the daytime dark metallic paint job. Bora bora is the coolest color.

I've only just started watching these videos, very cool they are, but did you try just adding the glow pigment to a clear coat on top of an existing colour to get the glow? Maybe it's been done but I haven't found it yet, but keen to know how that would come out. Cheers.

Ok,the one thing I noticed the GC7 lasted longer in the glow like to the others, mainly because it's more "white"/transparent than the others ... but still,it's freaking amazing 😍

I was surprised it worked. I think a white base coat under the glow paint would work best as it would reflect the glow back out (we do this with Luminlay guitar fretboard inlays and paint the inside of the hole it goes into with white), though I’m not sure how the other colors/hypershift would work with a white base coat.

What about adding some high visibility powder like used for road markings or vests or cop cars etc.
So when headlights hit them they POP! at night.
    A small gram amount.
Or tests different levels on your test pieces.

Hi, I have a question for you, Can I do this on a resin tumbler? I love your videos but I watch them to see the wacky cool mixes you do so I can transfer them onto a tumbler however these powders don't come cheap so I want to be certain before budgeting for them.
