    Hey Hank, I remember last yr we were talking about spoons & wraps. Yep, they work. I love old school lures. People don’t talk about these, or the old inline Mepps. Man they catch fish. It’s nice to have the latest & greatest & there’s nothing wrong with that, but hey these old school lures have been around for a long time for a good reason. Love’um!!! #100percentwatchsquad👊

    I dont throw a spoon much due to the bait size here locally but I have thrown one and not had much luck but that may be because I didnt give it a real chance to work... I love these videos because you not only tell about the baits but you also show us how to use them.. Keep the videos coming.. #100watchsquad

    Hey Hank, I watched your video 2 times. What you said makes perfect sense! On the smaller spoons! I watched a video last year, went and bought those big honkin spoons, swivels, ect. And threw that thing repeatedly and the only thing i got was a stupid sore shoulder!! My hubby has the smaller spoons so, I'll eat some crow, 🤣 ( he told me i was waisting my money) put on his smaller ones, and hopefully out fish him this Sunday, at the bass tournament!! Thank you for the tips! #100percentwatchsquad

    • @BassGeek
      @BassGeek  6 місяців тому +1

      Hahaha yeah those smaller ones will catch more. Now let’s say I’m on a lake that has a lot of big gizzard shad the big spoon is the deal.

    #100percentwatchsquad I don't get to fish a spoon as much as I'd like to, but I always have a few in the tackle box just in case I can break them out. They work in 5 foot of water all the way to 100 feet.

    I know this is an older video but curious to know your thoughts on adding a stinger hook! I super recently started throwing flutter spoons. The first time out i hammered them. I caught 6 in an hour trip and if them 2 had the stinger in the mouth. The next time out i didnt catch anything!

    • @BassGeek
      @BassGeek  3 місяці тому +1

      I do like a stinger they help hookups but they do hurt action some. So I just fly by the seat of my pants on'em. Sorry I know that's not much help.

    • @upstatebassing3437
      @upstatebassing3437 3 місяці тому +1

      @BassGeek that helps a decent amount!!! I do my stingers so that they are free sliding above the spoon with a bobber stop like an inch and a half above! I feel like for the big spoons it's worth it but am going to play around with not using them on the lake forks

    Growing up on herring lakes a spoon was like the bait/rod set that you never left behind after June 1st! I mean, even on the toughest days a 4” spoon would put five 14” spots in the boat and on decent days a 6.5” herring special 20+
    This is the bait that the local hammer throws in July and everyone has no idea how he caught those fish 2 days in a row. We all have the tendency to make it too complicated for a simple bait to work.
