my wife told me I needed to do a better job of spooning - I'm glad I came here, I'm sure she will be too - you are a lifesaver - maybe a marriage saver
Just had a 30+ tournament day on MR .BIG LARRY been following you for years now by far my favorite fisherman and a awesome teacher been tournament fishing bout all my life seems like but you can never learn enough keep up the awesome content
Hell yea Gary!!!! There’s nothing like it!! Once you drop a bag like that it’s hard to pick anything else up. It really gets bites no other bait will. Glad you busted them!!!
That’s called the P-Train hope in southeast Louisiana we jig for speckled trout like that with ball head’s& matrix Shad on I-10 bridge & HWY-90 bridge !!! C.Z. I have told you anytime you come through and have a 2-3 hours or even a couple days I will show you what payed guys won’t show and the other 3/4 can’t because they don’t know about our home town play ground!!
Currently, my biggest producer by far (in a lake filled with largemouth and threadfin shad) is a 2” Cotton Cordell spoon (with an upsized treble hook). I just swim it and the bass hammer it. Just this week I’ve caught bass from 1 to over 4 lbs.
Love the tips and going to def try a spoon more now. Also the sunglasses you’re wearing in this video is it optic nerve rumble ? I know you have your own but was curious if those are good for fishing as well.
Please do a tater hog/ big glide bait tip video. Your video from the elite event at lake fork is what got me into glide baits. Thanks for always sharing your thoughts on how and why techniques work.
Thanks for a great video! If I’m specifically targeting smallies on Ontario, which spoon do you suggest? And should I change the line at all to something lighter? Thanks again!!
My dad used to fish a lot with spoons back in the old days. I’ve never giving it a chanse but will definitly give it a try this summer using his spoons from the 70th….original 70th 🇸🇪 ABU aka Aktiebolaget Urmakarna (Watchmakers Ltd). Thanks for the tip 🙇🏾
I know you're from San Jose. Is this something you used in California? I live on Central Coast California San luis obispo. I fish at Santa Margarita. Is this something you think will work there ?
@@Zaldaingerous The pressure has moved on to other lakes fortunately and to help the fishery rebound they are planning a restocking program. I heard it may be Florida strain, but that's not 100% sure. Last year the tournament pressure was horrendous and the amount of bass killed was outrageous.
My son used wd40 on bait on a skunk day and got hit over and over. Lol. No idea why besides maybe weird looking as wd is water repellent so maybe made some weird water around bait. They can’t smell oils so maybe it’s scentless and makes weird water? Good ol wd.

Your G-vile derb is what got me picking up a spoon

Excellent information wiell presented Can’t wait to try it. Thanks.😮😅🎉
Well projected nicely done worthwhile to watch for people that never have used them
😂 This video answered the question I asked JJ after the Q&A Wednesday night! I am going to be putting a flutter spoon in my crappie jig box! 😂

Great video! I like the sneaky swivel
Is the LITTLE LARRY spoon out yet? I didn't see it earlier but I might have looked right past it..
Yes. Got one a bass pro today at lunch.
@@erictressel5957 preciate ya😎✌️
The little Larry is not yet out, just the Big. Heck we may have 3 sizes… got a Tiny/Baby Larry too ha
@@Zaldaingerous you're killing me smallz
Good vid. I’m close to Okeechobee in South FL so no real Spoon fishing down here I’m guessing. Don’t think it’s deep enough waters around.

Suspended fish here in Central Texas. Actually getting them to chase the spoon. Great info Chris. Thanks man.
I did notice if I am to far away from boat, the fall is much shorter after the initial cast, when pulling bait up from bottom.
Love the tips and going to def try a spoon more now. Also the sunglasses you’re wearing in this video is it optic nerve rumble ? I know you have your own but was curious if those are good for fishing as well.
It’s a pair we are working on for Optic Nerve - not out yet
I have seen some of those monsters, you caught with them spoons! Thanks, Chris!
🥄 💪🏽
I immediate try it out, tnx for the tips, Chris !!!
Hell yeah I have never used one and been wanting to try it out 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Let me know how it goes when you start fishing one?
Thanks for turning me on to this bite, the only problem is I wasted the last month forcing the bite and I'm so ready to get my arm ripped off again!

Had a blast watching you kill it on Champlain with one last year!
Hey guys! I just took a leap of faith going back to school at 30. Degree options for the fishing world??? And go
Is the widow maker coming out soon? Can't wait to get one
Great video! Thanks Chris!!
I bet the Lamiglas 7’9” twitching rod would be perfect. It’s made for twitching jigs for coho, but the action sounds perfect for spoons.
I’m not familiar with the new Lamis. Used to fish some of the OG ones wayyyy back in the day
Thanks for a great video! If I’m specifically targeting smallies on Ontario, which spoon do you suggest? And should I change the line at all to something lighter? Thanks again!!
Any advice on spooning for striper in the CA aquaduct ?
I cant wait to try this
I agree Chris, always best to keep that swivel out of our tip... 😵😆

I'm curious about using a spoon for suspended fish. My reservoir is 200+ and the smallmouth are chasing schools of kokanee.
I'd like to visit your lake lol where are you? Ha
WD-40 is a great trick to keep those blades shiny. Salt water guys will clean and soak their blades in WD-40 all the time to keep that maximum shine.
💦🥄✨
What knot are you using to connect to the swivel?
I know you're from San Jose. Is this something you used in California? I live on Central Coast California San luis obispo. I fish at Santa Margarita. Is this something you think will work there ?
I learned about flutter spoons when I got on the Elites and started fishing all the TVA lakes which is where it all really originated
Hard to get confidence in a big flutter spoon for me...would be cool as hell to catch 1, though 😂
You always have good info! Keep grinding and having fun!
🙏👊🏽
What do you think about fishing a big flutter spoon in standing timber at about 15-25 feet deep?
Yes, I do lots of times here in Texas.
Can you make a trip to Pickwick and can I tag along and learn how to use a flutter spoon on those ledges? 😂
Is Pickwick still getting slammed with tournaments or has some of the pressure moved to other lakes?
@@Zaldaingerous The pressure has moved on to other lakes fortunately and to help the fishery rebound they are planning a restocking program. I heard it may be Florida strain, but that's not 100% sure. Last year the tournament pressure was horrendous and the amount of bass killed was outrageous.
Will 2lb-3lb Smallie eat this Big Larry or is this bait geared for Largemouth?
The "Little Larry" spoon will be dropping soon. It is better suited for smallies and spotted bass
Thank you
What about no front graphs and shallow water?
You don’t need a graph to flutter spoon but you do need some sort of depth. Have you ever casted a spoon like they do for redfish?
THANX A MILLION FROM IDAHO"
I have never used flutter spoon for bass only trout
I would sure like to be able to pay for some of those spoons, it’s just getting so hard to afford to bass fish…
There are many less expensive lures that still catch bass. That’s what’s fun about fishing
@@Zaldaingerous lol, right now my boat is in the shop getting a new lower unit, now that’s what cost 10k 😂, thank goodness for Geico insurance !!!
The leader is 2-3 ft?
18-24" so you can cast
@@Zaldaingerous With a leader this size, swivel is not necessary?

Look forward to the day you come back to guntersville and put the hammer on them with that spoon!
I wish we had more spoon bites this past season. I think 2024 schedule may have a few
@@Zaldaingerous looking forward to fish period man. Turn around season!
