I work from home, even without Covid. I'm an external assessor. Occupational health and safety suggest you get up and move around every 45 minutes or so for your health and circulation. When I do this I do a (what I call) 'a cup of tea clean' - this is when I go make a cup of tea but when the kettle is boiling I clean something (even if it's wiping down the kitchen counter) then when the tea is brewing I clean something else (ie. sweep the floor etc.). When the tea is ready I return to my desk and resume working :)

🇨🇦❤️As always, your videos are fun and inspiring.
When you decide to write your book, I will buy it because on this UA-cam channel, your content and sense of style are definitely unique.
Travel, collections, diy’s, restoration and every other thing you do has that delightful and delicious Dainty Diary vibe. Your sense of humour and philosophy are unlike anyone else’s so even if you think something is too much like someone else’s, it simply cannot be.
You often laugh at yourself and life but you’re also considerate and it’s obvious that you care very deeply about others.

I don't have a MAC but I have my laptop connected to an extra monitor. Having two screens have proved themselves very handy while remote teaching. It's a very good hack. I've also DIY my mouse pad and crocheted myself a coaster for my mug. Catherine, you could so write a book. Not only do you tell people how to do things in a clear yet simple way, but you have a way about you that just inspires! I love the Blondie package! Cats, they sure have a way of bringing a brightness to our days don't they? Tips...I don't personally work from home and my husband is lucky enough to be able to go into work, but our teenager has been home since a year ago and she's come up with a few tips. First she sets a timer and works for a set amount of time and takes a 10-15 minute break. She often has little snacks of healthy, but energy boosting type things like power balls (There are tons of recipes out there), nuts, dried fruit or a boiled egg. She also is sure to hydrate and when she breaks she stretches, walks around or takes our dog out for a run in the yard. Twice a day she takes a longer break for something like breakfast or lunch and she tries to end her day and begin around the same times so it is more like a routine. Relaxing at night helps her to reset herself for the next day. Great video tho, I am going to have to try the mousepad out. I've been using a single subject notebook (been through several actually) for a mousepad for year as it was convenient to write notes.

Best advice I can give is set a timer for 20 minutes and only focus on that task. Most people can only focus for twenty minutes at a time even in a learning environment. Think about a 'happy lamp" to help with that lack of sunshine. I use one each morning for 30 minutes...especially important since my stroke. Love your hacks, you are such a talented lass! love your office set up Catherine. In our new house we are using our spare bedroom as an office craft room stroke bedroom. I have just purchased a laptop so looking forward to redecorating my office. My desk is an antique bureau. I have an antique treadle singer sewing machine too. My mum who was a dress designer has three antique sewing machines, the last one she added to her collection was a hand crank singer which she has just restored and she used it to recover her sofa. I love your phone
I have one in blue but it does work and I use it in my hall. I got a digital Canon camera as a gift from my parents as I love photography which is why I purchased a laptop to edit and upload my photos. So good to get inspiration from your home office. Thanks for sharing look forward to your next vlog. Also my mum used lemon oil she purchased online to restore the wood on her sewing machine and worked really well. safe safe sending you best wishes xx

Nice shelf! I love the soft colors in your office. I'm motivated by checking things off a list each day. You could definitely write a book. You're very creative. Jennifer Scott from the channel the Daily Connoisseur talks a little bit about how she set aside time to write her books. I've always wanted to write a book, but I have no idea what I would write about. If I did ever write a book I'd probably have the weirdest book chapters ever. Chapter 1: Sewing/Quilting basics, Chapter 2: Cutting tile not your fingers Chapter 3: Cleaning tips for the lazy OCD. Chapter 4: How to homeschool without losing your mind. Chapter 5: Military Spouse life tips.

I did not know about the Mac trick or that you could close it and continue working. It’s brilliant that you shared it thinking not everyone has seen it done. Kind of like Pinterest, if you think of ideas or see images you’d like to include in your future book perhaps you could save them in a file to help refresh your mind when you actually start putting it together. Remember, self published books often do quite well. Good luck!
