- Video of weightlifting world champion and Olympic medalist Dmitry Klokov hitting a 250kg paused high bar squat during the Perth component of the Clean Health Education 'Training For Strength Sports' bootcamp with Charles Poliquin.
Video was filmed at the Shredded Strength Institute in Floreat: www.shredded.com.au
Details on the course are here: www.cleanhealth.com.au/poliquin-klokov
This is not a Squat...This is art...perfected.
Indeed it is art Derrick!
Verdade!!!!
I guess everyone is recommended this after Ivan Djuric's video yesterday. Howdy fellas
Yoo
Hahah😂
Lol
G’day gday!
Wrong video tho
Search for klokov "250kg ass to grass" it has 1.4m views
Look at the speed of his descent ... his method of squatings incredibly strong
How could you possible NOT stop doing whatever you were doing and watch someone pause squatting 1/4 of a tonne?
Agree. It's called arrogance.
Not easily impressed in Perth, Western Australia.
People who don't lift weights have no clue on what's considered impressive. Some may think: "Oh well, with a couple of months of hard work I'll get there too if I wanted too. Just add 10Kg every session."😆
@@juanignaciociccotosto6827 lmao "arrogance", talk about an extra chromosome
@@XXLRebel I remember thinking that when I was experiencing novice gains.
My 5 RM in the squat went from like 110kg to 150kg over the course of several months, I remember legit thinking I would be squatting 200kg for reps within the year.
What a fool I was.
Technically this is a tempo pause squat rather than being merely just a pause squat which makes this even more impressive . 5 second eccentric phase (which is the tempo part of the squat) followed by the 5 second pause in the hole. Not too mention of course that this is fully ATG. An ATG 5 second tempo 5 second pause squat with 250kg is insane. Mad respect!
That’s just how Russian weightlifters squat, for them this isn’t a tempo squat it’s just a regular squat lol
@@danieldrakeford848 No, only Klokov squatted like that,
@@danieldrakeford848 lol you have never seen another Russian train, apart from klokov. Stop talking
this is klokovs squat nobody else was able to do this
Check out Clearence Kennedy's 260kg 5x5 paused just as crazy
Wow, Ivan wasn’t kidding. He fully sat in that shit
who is here from ivan squat everyday? :)
He makes it look so easy..
Great pure POWER!
Beast!!
People don't know what a paused squat is until they see this.
Like I hit pause, went for a poop and came back before pressing play again.
😂😂😂😂
very nice...
Ivan squat everyday?
Does Klokov have an uneven stance? It sort of looks like his left foot is slighting more in front
Yes, one femur and leg overall is slightly longer than the other, we asked this during our travels together. Hence why he rotates his foot placement out slightly.
Beast
Ivan brought me here
You're using too much momentum..
yeah right? he should have paused for at least 5 mins smh
@@ada0015 That's the bare minimum. Even then you're utilizing that stretch reflex too much. But it's acceptable I guess...
Yeah for real, and it’s not deep enough lol amateur
@@XXLRebel are you stupid or parents genetic?
@@jackhajal1806 lol stfu

Впечатляет!!!!!
My other side of my family live in Perth
If my left femur is shorter than my right which foot goes a little forward when I squat? Thanks so much.
right one. But in general putting something like a thin mat (to compensate for the femur length) under your left foot will be a better solution
Fucking beast!!
I have noticed he drops the bar instead of re-racking quite often in his vids. Does anyone know why? It looks like he easily has the strength left to do it.
It looks cool
The bar, plates and floor are prepared for that. It's weightlifting equipment, it can handle that and much more. Olympic weightlifters usually drop the bar to the floor after their last set of squats because it's easier to unload it and because they usually do some exercise from the floor, like clean pulls or whatever.
Less risk
right answer is probably that this is the last set
@@user-qs4qo2ek2g yeah, probably gonna do some Olympic lifts after.
music name is???
Bartosz Białas jump-tocadisco enjoy : )
Ho-lee crahp :O
Anyone know what Adidas shoes those are?
Adistar squat shoes.
@@cleanhealthfitnessinstitute Thanks
that music sounds like a Crash Bandicoot version of the mortal kombat theme👽
Drop like it's 🔥
What's that thing wrapped around below his knee? is it just cloth or something else?
It's a knee cap
Most likely, it's russian knee wraps, like these: store.hookgrip.com/shop/russian-knee-wraps-all-options/
He wears them in most of his videos. Klokov doesn't like to wrap them around the patella, that's why you can see his knees. He wraps above and below the patella, he said somewhere that it's not good to put pressure on it.
you need to wear a valeo belt
why didnt he re rack it?
Are you making a joke or actually asking
@@wc6046 seriously asking cuz if he just re racked it, it be much more convenient for next set
@@applejm3370 Oh, well the gist of it is often times lifters will drop the bar immediately when they're done to take the stress off of their muscles. Helps prevent injury
Because he is a freak of nature! Jokes aside walking that amount of load back in after doing that would place unnecessary stress on his joints etc, thus increasing the risk for injury.
@@applejm3370 well it's clearly his last set
Stuff the queen, god safe those knees.
word has it his calfs single handedly lifted the weight
Yeah nah, terrible form mate. Your knees are too wide, going down too low, knees too far over toes, feet are pointing in the wrong direction, looking up at the wrong angle, and I have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about.
I wanna do that @150 for 10. 😊.
Atm i can bounce 150 for 1.
Hoping withing a couple of years the hammy adductors will be a bit longer and i can get close. Then i will be at peace.
YOU GOT THIS!
Clarence Kennedy: "this is my warmup"
His too.
why are clarences fans so cringe? always bringing him up in videos of stronger and better lifters
@@kingofthenoobs klokov is a better lifter but clearance is stronger
I love Clarence but fans like you just ruin it for me. Just enjoy both lifting and stfu with the comparisons.
Not enough depth imo (I’m 6 and squat 1230 lbs btw)
This is the only squat (pause doesn't hace to be so long). Going deep and using knees ligaments to rebound is easier than a 90 degrees squat, but you see that in youtube and think that is a legit squat, and hate 90 degrees and controled squats.
Why do weightlifters like dropping the bar?
It's way more of a pain in the ass to strip plates from a bar on the floor than it is in the rack, I just don't see the point.
Because it's cool. Taking bumpers away from the bar is also quite easy if you put a small plate below the bigger plates
@@miguelmoreno6990 Not as easy as taking them off of a racked bar at sternum height.
It's so interesting to see that his one foot is ahead of the other foot but still manage to squat that heavy without getting injured.
I guess his pelvis is quite imbalanced that he intentionally puts his one foot ahead of the other to compensate for it
It seems to look that way due to the angle filmed as well! Great observation there!
He has longer leg
His feet aren’t even ones more in front of the other
Are you perfectly symmetrical? Gotta make it work with the body you're given. Makes it even more impressive.
Uneven feet
