Just came back from Dreamworld. The only ride I remembered was the vintage cars that are still going. It’s lost it’s soul with all the classic rides and theming gone.
I remember the thunder bolt.. That was one rough roller coaster. There mine ride was my favourite that and the Wipeout.

Wow, what an insight to the past of the theme park, the areas which once had the water slides is now cemented over, the riverboat just sits in the water, rotting away. Props such as those used in the 'bush ranger' act are now overgrown with plants... The old thunderbolt coaster is gone, along with others such as the Eureka mine-cart ride and of course, most recently, the river rapids after the tragic accident.
It's amazing to see it how it once was, thank you for sharing your footage, it is important to keep 'video records' of the past so that we can all see how things once were. :)
Thank you its a shame that the real dream world is lost and gone and now no gold rush country.I will be up loading more stuff like the brisbane ekka from 1989-1993 soon and its real good footage from the day.

Went as a kid 90s with dad made me go on thunder bolt lol loved the dodgem cars and chair lift.went when big brother house was there as a teen and when they had the flow rider there as adult.
Omg I forgot dreamworld had that waterpark! I never took the big straight slide with the knee board. But I did the other one. Damn I miss those days. Dreamworld was perfect. Stingray and Mattahorn too. Can’t believe what dreamworld is doing.
Dreamworld has lost the touch as a park loved it back then all best rides so many great memories
Who could ever forget the sound of the log boats hitting the sides as they went through the tunnel.

What an intense ride it was in 87! Super air time, fast, exhilarating.
Such a shame it had to be changed, as it lost everything that was great about it.
Sad that’s it’s all gone now.

I love your quote at the end - When Dreamworld was a special place to visit. - Very very true. These days it's mediocre at best, don't get me wrong still love dreamworld, but the standards have slipped!! The miners ride was my fav ride (that very rare footage of the ride meant a great deal to me). I've been trawling UA-cam to find it. Glad you had it! Thumbs up mate. Great great video!!!
Hello Thank you for your message, Im glad I found this footage for everyone to enjoy as I hadn't seen it for years and thougt it was lost. I always went to dreamworld when I was young &Mine ride was my favorite and tried to get as mutch footage as I could in the day.i have also found more super 8 film recently that was missing from this film and when I get some time ill be up loading that as well.Its ashame that dw is run like a business and not like a theme park but its still good.I have good child hood memories of this place.Im glad you enjoyed it.Thanks.
Thank you for your comments as its great to know that so many people had great memorys there as with me and filming the mine ride on the ride was a crazey thing to do as we were trying to use that for some 3d work.And im glad it has survived after all these years for every one to see.Thank you.
This is fantastic! I worked there between 94-98 and have some Hi8 footage I have just recently unearthed. So good to see attractions like little puff etc still operating. Love your channel.

I also worked there in 1998-2002 as a ride operator and imax projectionist.Great times.Another find I have are photos of all the animatronics in the gum tree gully after the last ever show and they are great picks.

Damn that mine ride was good. I last got to it in 2006 before it ended up derelict. Definitely not going to return now.
Too right it was great and unique in its own way and sad it all gone.I did get the chance to operate the ride when I worked there back in 2000.Great times.
Good news! After more than 2 decades sitting closed and practically abandoned Dreamworld have plans to refurbish and bring back the eureka mine ride and reopen at least part of goldrush country after the removal of the Rapids ride and the old chairlift station additionally there's plans to bring back that family fun experience the park used to have and no longer focus on building terribly themed and badly placed thrill rides
That is good news that they want to reopen the mine ride as it was my fav of the day.I think that is the only classic ride left of the old dreamworld.

Nope, sadly the mine ride has been completely demolished, and so too has Goldrush Country. It is no more.
Who remembers finding their photograph stuck on the face of a souvenir plate to buy at the gift shop?
