thanks for this, one of my fav rides as a kid, i last went on this ride in 2001 used to love in some of the sharp corners it took you could see outside and there was nothing but track underneith you, its a shame it was closed down
was an amazing ride! unfortunately it was demolished last week! they are going to replace with a whole new ride but I personally don't think they will be able to replace that ride, was just to good
I went to dream world a week ago and watched the demolishment of this beloved ride. I rode this as a child with my father and late poppy. Such good memories was very sad to see bits of the ride being thrown and cut down.
My parents always told me about this ride and how much they always rode it. My dad used to work there so they had easy access but it closed before I was born :')
So it was meant to reopen but after the thunder river rapids ride incident they decided not to reopen it and as of that they demolished it and a new roller coaster will open this year
I went on a family holiday when I was 11 (2002). My sister who was 9 at the time rode that ride with me soo many times. There was no lines for that ride the day we went. We kept on going back on until our parents had to drag us away. I was sad to see it was closed on my last visit to the park (2014)
I am surprised no one smashed their teeth out or something, on this ride, or fell out & died. Most un-safest ride I have ever been on. I went on this in 1995. I was 12yrs old. I was small, light & skinny and so the belt didn't fit by a mile (it was just some basic strap that went around your waist, there was nothing else!). It was so loose, it was like I didn't have a belt on at all. I hurt my arm on that ride. I wish I had known what to expect, before getting on. I certainly didn't expect that ride to be so fast & sudden with the direction changes. Then later that day, me & my father were waiting to go on the rollercoaster ride. We were standing in line for ages. We are finally at the front of the line, & among the next to get on ......when........ the power in the whole park goes out! All the rides were frozen. It scares me thinking about it, to this day. The thought of being halfway-through that rollercoaster ride when the power had went out ;(
I don’t know if you’ll reply to this, but I was wanting to remake the ride in a model or in a game, and was wondering whether you could send me these pictures along with anything else you have on the ride. It would mean an awful lot to me.
Thanks for making this video. First food this on 1999.and a few times after that. Was sad to find that is closed. Wish there was some way for it to be safe and operational again
I have a friend who currently works there, it won't be removed for a very long time, the ride had been shut down because some type of chemical that is severely dangers, that they can't remove the ride unless they have to shut down the theme park for a couple days to remove the ride
For a wild mouse, it was extremely uncomfortable to ride even twice. And being so short and rider throughput focused it was often the park's shortest que time. I remember on Prime television (a Local news network) there were mechanical wear issues that Dreamworld CEOs condemned the ride years before they did close the ride. I recall this back in 1998 when the park expanded and Rumors from the staff on a day I visited at the park were talk of a re-theming the entire gold rush precinct. But as we all know now, it just sat unused. Dreamworld was the Gold coasts second contemporary Theam park, the first was "Sea-world".
A new theme for that area is coming just one ride there at the moment which is Steel Taipan Buzzsaw didnt last long and a new chairlift would be awesome but no plans on that
the way Worksafe is going in Australia most of the rides will be closed or converted to lame rides. Then the park will close due to the lack of decent attractions. I remember riding this back in 1996 was my favourite rides
I've never seen those recent pictures inside the ride. It looks too far gone to make a comeback, and I can't see Ardent spending the money to bring it back up to code. At least I managed to ride it back in the day.
Hi i like your vid as it was my fav ride.i had recently pulled out an old dreamworld film that i made in the day with on ride footage of the mine ride with other footage of dreamworld in the day.We were trying to get footage for a 3d effect .but it still exists so check it out under dreamworld goldcoast/mine ride front seat footage.enjoy
I suspect because the artificial mountain that housed the ride is a huge part of the aesthetic/theme for that section of the park. If they pulled it down, it wouldn't look or feel the same.
+Ravi Kumar ya couldn't see what way the ride was going to turn, it was pitch black, I ended up with neck pain for about three days, hubby had back issues for about a week.
I miss this ride so much. Although it was very dangerous. My dad really hurt his back on this one, due to the unexpected turns in the dark. The part I remember the most was the skeleton XD I think the last time I experienced this ride was back in 2002.
i doubt it will the log flume is rumored to be going aswell dream world are moving away from the old-west theme into more modern themes and nickelodeon licensed stuff
I don’t blame them for keeping it closed whilst I loved that ride especially the corner heading out but people would hurt their backs going up the conveyer belt when it would break suddenly
tehtron not the ride, Only the mountain structure encasing it. Dreamworld have been quick to clarify that they are retaining the Eureka Mine Ride for assessment of viability once the demolition work around it is done.

It was a very scary ride as a kid. I remember the 'it's going to blow!' as you go up.
Lol that's the wild west at movieworld, not eureka 😂
@@stephenkunze1736 they both did it

It is now the steel tipan

all gone. Was there today. It is sad.
Brings a tear to my eye I used to ride that with my dad who has sadly passed
My parents always told me about this ride and how much they always rode it. My dad used to work there so they had easy access but it closed before I was born :')
same with me
You get so much whiplash if you were a skinny child on this ride
So it was meant to reopen but after the thunder river rapids ride incident they decided not to reopen it and as of that they demolished it and a new roller coaster will open this year

I loved this ride so much. It is still the best wild mouse I've been on.

My favourite ride. I still feel so sad they got rid of it.
this was my favorite ride

It was one of my fav rides at Dreamworld. Sorry, it closed
This was such a fun ride!

+Amanda mcrae What is the chemical? cant they clean it? Also, if its asbestos, its not that dangerous, at-least until its damaged
+May May yeah my dad said their was a lot of like electronic things inside the ride he said it was his favourite ride
The last time I got to ride this coaster was 2003. My son then was just 1 yr old, and way too young for it. Too bad he never got to go on!

Rest in peace
That was my favourite ride as a child!!!
+Insane00001 could you describe how it goes
R there going do the ride up. Or they going to tears it down. It be cool rids if they update.
Wait that’s where the thunder river rapid ride closed is that place haunted?
Such a shame this closed down ☹️ I remember going on this when I was little and you messed your self as you flew around the outside 😂😂😂
Unfortunately, the ride has now been demolished. :(
I went on that ride back in primary school
the way Worksafe is going in Australia most of the rides will be closed or converted to lame rides. Then the park will close due to the lack of decent attractions. I remember riding this back in 1996 was my favourite rides
howd u get those pics of the ride interior do u work at dreamworld or something
jjperceval legend
No I don't work at Dreamworld
Something I got of imovie :P
I've never seen those recent pictures inside the ride. It looks too far gone to make a comeback, and I can't see Ardent spending the money to bring it back up to code. At least I managed to ride it back in the day.
Michael Sharp Was the ride fun?
Yeah it was fun. It really did whip you left and right with the tight turns. What I remember most was the plunge drop right above the load station.
how did you get the photos
Probably by just looking up "Eureka mountain mine ride Dreamworld".
ayden brown haha. I know the answer to this, but I had better not post it 😉😛
So sad! It was one of the best rides there!
I wish I could of experienced this just once
This ride is so cool, I want it to reopen, or else!!
Diana Standefer Have you been on it?
Have you heard that Dreamworld has plans to reopen the mine ride??!
Joshua Macdonald, Where do you get this information?
On parkz.com.au there was a email that said dreamworld has plans to reopen the log ride, vintage cars and the mine ride.
Joshua Macdonald I still dont think they will re-opened.

Very nice video

it better re open
i can say i am one of many who remember riding this lol i was shit scared but got off and done it again
So this is the infamous AndrewH from Parkz, that got a lifetime ban from Dreamworld?
Yes it is but I am allowed to go back to Dreamworld
@@AndrSuper whyd you get banned?
SBNO Since 10 Years in a big Park? why?
I suspect because the artificial mountain that housed the ride is a huge part of the aesthetic/theme for that section of the park. If they pulled it down, it wouldn't look or feel the same.
It's the worst ride ever...talk about pain. I'm a dream world fan, best park ever but oh my...darkness and sudden turns equals injury. And that I did.
+awesome one what happen in the ride ??
+Ravi Kumar ya couldn't see what way the ride was going to turn, it was pitch black, I ended up with neck pain for about three days, hubby had back issues for about a week.
I do believe the sign before hopping on the ride warned of those with weak joints or if elderly ;)

I need to add that these images really made me sad. I have so many memories from this ride with my dad. It's so sad to see it run down :(
is he....dead?
yes, and she is too hence the no response
Well done!!
There's a huge conspiracy that the ride is haunted, I don't know, but apparently it is😑
Apparently this is a recreation of the POV: ua-cam.com/video/MJhETos19Fo/v-deo.html
i doubt it will the log flume is rumored to be going aswell dream world are moving away from the old-west theme into more modern themes and nickelodeon licensed stuff
They've gotten rid of the Nickelodeon areas. I think they are now focusing on dreamworks mostly.
it's now called the ABC kids zone
don't have to remove just rebrand like they did with the cyclone
Who said the log flume is leaving? I love that ride so much!?!
No, the restored it and is back up and running.
I don’t blame them for keeping it closed whilst I loved that ride especially the corner heading out but people would hurt their backs going up the conveyer belt when it would break suddenly
Can confirm it's not coming back 🤣
They have demolished it. :(
They just announced the demolish of the ride +Super Andy15
tehtron not the ride, Only the mountain structure encasing it. Dreamworld have been quick to clarify that they are retaining the Eureka Mine Ride for assessment of viability once the demolition work around it is done.
I never went on it
I hated that ride. It felt like you were going to fall off the edge
#demolished
Dylan O'Regan finally!
