I agree. It does feel like it is lacking at the current time.. however, this is mainly due to the poor decision of the last CEO. The new CEO stepped in a couple years ago & has made incredible decisions! Fixing up the mess that he stepped into. In a couple of years time this could easily be Australia’s best theme park.
The Kung Fu Panda area has been rethemed now to a really well themed splash pad with an interactive Octopus animatronic. Gives me high hopes for Rivertown if it's the same quality!
Not much hope for the families of the lost ones due to parks owned negligence and greed. Read the report on how the 'accident' happened and you will feel sick to your core. All down to greed. The Aussies changes laws so if that ever happened again the American owners would live the rest of their lives behind bars.
@@Keith-wd5ey Why are you bringing this up? The park is under completely new management since that dark time, and is not owned by Americans. They've done a great job turning the park around and changing the operations to be safer.
I prefer Movie World and Sea World, but Dreamworld's energy is so much better. While at the Village parks, you feel more like a number because of huge crowds and average service, Dreamworld makes everyone feel special. Even though their coaster collection is nothing compared to the other parks, I tend to leave happier because it's so much fun!
I live in New York and don’t have the time or budget to travel to theme parks around the world (though it’s my dream!) and I just have to say THANK YOU for all of your hard work. Been a fan for years and it’s just so impressive how it feels like you take us with you on your incredible travels. Especially the POVs and on-ride reactions. Love from Leo in Brooklyn!
Just visited earlier this month! I definitely feel the future potential of this park, and I had a great time here despite all the construction and look forward to seeing what they add. The flats here are great, and I loved the Australian animal collection - they even had some species the Australia Zoo didn't!. I don't love the current coaster collection, but Steel Taipan is a great standout and Jungle Rush should really complement it.
I'm going here on the weekend. It'll be my first time back for the year This park back in the 90s/early 2000s was a very good park. It just hadn't aged well since then. It's had a lot of different owners over its years, and they've all focused on different things. I'm excited for its future, but. It could potentially be a really good park again. The investments that are being installed are going to be awesome, it. I did hear like this week they are investing into a hotel of some sort soon. As far as Coasters go. If they were wanting to compete with Movie World. They should knock down the Motocoaster and build a RMC in its place. If they did that and built a decent dark ride/non Coaster family ride. It would honestly make this the best park in Australia. Maybe in the southern hemisphere. Once everything is complete, that is.
Steel taipan is good, but they really need that knock out coaster to compete with the other parks. I've heard a few people say that they should build an RMC where Motocoaster sits, I absolutely love that idea!
I remember my first time going, it was actually a week before the river rapids accident so it was a shock returning to sydney then hearing about it on the news. I didnt ho on my last trip but it looks so dead compared to that first visit. Hopefully this new area brings that spark of life back into it that it has been missing since the closure of some of their biggest rides. Steel taipan is a great start
This park looks like it’s got a bright future lots of investment and TLC on existing stuff. Definitely agree this park is gonna be awesome when it’s done
My favorite park I've been to. 😁 I went in 2010 when it was their winter. Gold Coaster was called Cyclone at the time. Did the Raft ride, before it had the accident. Tower of Terror was in the process of becoming Tower of Terror 2. The family vekoma suspended coaster was Runaway Reptar. Would be cool to see how much has changed since then.
I really wish they kept Tower of Terror... they could have changed the train to have front facing or back facing seats... so the rider could choose.. best of both worlds then.
8:47, another good Aussie Zoo is Taronga Zoo in Sydney, or Melbourne Zoo, I highly recommend both of them for you to visit and review someday, at Taronga you can watch Chimpanzees fight and at Melbourne Zoo you can go into a giant room with Lemurs, also, Taronga has giant donuts at the front entrance and even a hotel called Roar & Snore. I hope one day you can visit both of these amazing Zoos and review them in a video like this one. Hope you enjoy them both
Dang, I think they got rid of my favorite ride there. It was this spinning ride where you sat in a little submarine, and it spun so fast that you tilted sideways before the ride started tilting off the ground to form a 90-degree angle, so when you were at the top, you were upside down. All while playing Yellow Submarine by the Beatles.
Australian here. I haven't been to Dreamworld since around 2000. We were last on the Gold Coast in March 2020. Went to Movieworld, Wet n Wild and Seaworld. Movieworld is easily the best. Early September this year we went to Orlando and went to Universal and Disney. All I can say is the Gold Coast theme parks are completely lame in comparison. Although having said that, Movieworld has gotten a lot better over the last decade. They have a lot of work to do to catch up! Sadly its difficult here as we just dont have the population to sustain it.
Fun Fact, the Gold Coaster was originally names Hot Wheels and then when I was growing up it got repainted and changed its name to Cyclone. This is actually my first time hearing about the Gold Coaster.
I came here quite a few years ago. I remember doing both the now infamous rapids and the Vekoma SFC when it was called Escape From Madagascar, both of which were fun. I was unfortunately too short and too scared to ride either Tower Of Terror 2 or Buzzsaw, but I remember seeing both. When my family went off to do some other ride, me and my mum did Hot Wheels Sidewinder (that’s what it was called then). Main two things I remember about that one was the insufferably slow que and it terrifying me, but it was my first of two looping coasters (the other one California Screamin, I have like 12 credits). Overall, I had a pretty good time and would like to go back sometime.
You know I was there on the day of the incident back in 2016. I didn’t ride that ride that day but I had some family that rode the ride before the incident and one of my friends was just about to get on the ride before they closed it.
If the River Rapids/log ride incidents didn't happen, and they kept Tower of Tower and WipeOut and still did all the new attractions the swing ride and Rivertown... then Dreamworld would easily be the best theme park in Australia..
I just went there a week an a half ago. It is a bare but with the new renovations there making, will then make them a contender for the best park in Australia.
Dreamworld must've listened to your dislike of ABC Kids World, because they demolished it almost immediately after this review to make way for their re-do of Rivertown and the Jungle Rush coaster.
it sucks that there removing the abc kids world area, yeah maybe it wasn’t the best for some people but, it’s really cool for fans of the area that got to experience that kind of stuff, just seeing it get shutdown was pretty sad tbh, I don’t think im gonna get much attention from rivertown as I did abc kids world but, I guess it had to be closed sometime.
I'm watching your UA-cam video now. I enjoyed it so far. Love riding Coasters at Kings Dominion. Happy Tuesday Taylor and Sarah. Like your Channel very much. Awesome! 👍
The bones of this park are good, it just needs a scrub up. The current CEO was responsible for the construction of DCR, so there's good things on the way I'm sure!
When did you actually go? We are still undecided on going. We are heading there is week (03/10/23-09/10/23) Have heard mixed reviews on rides operating
Hey I’m from Australia it was very heart breaking it was very hard to go though I did not have ANY family members who died plus I have never gone to dream word but I do recommend any theme park in queenland
Most of the time movie world rides are closed wet n wild own by village needs a updated them sea world one of it new rides now closed for good but dreamworld is very children friendly from ages 0-13 and old people friendly as well
They've used the design since the park opened in the 80's, so they're pretty iconic now. I've only heard Taylor say they look like mice haha - at a distance they do look like Europa Park's Mouse mascot.

No one is mentioning the horrendous accident...It was an amazing park and the river rapids were so good but why were they still using an ancient wooden conveyer with spaces in between on a rusty old chian. I feel so sorry for families. It was worse than anything made up in the Final Destination Movies
You failed to mention the US owners were found extremely lacking in safety and failed on multiple levels with health and safety. Basic things like painting a line for the water level for the rapids was not allowed which could have prevented the deaths. The emergency stop buttons not working and no budget allowed to safety. I'd never give a penny to this American owned park. By supporting them you disrespect the people who were killed for the greed of the owners.

I’ve ridden all the rides at Dreamworld, even the defunct ones but Dreamworld also has some of the most unique rides I’ve seen (I haven’t seen a lot).

I highly agree with that, but I think they'd be challenged to fit a good RMC there. There's not a lot of space unfortunately.

Oh Dreamworld is in good hands, Going to be one of the best parks in the southern hemisphere
I feel like you kinda came at the wrong time, EVERYTHING is getting renovated
Oh totally. It’ll be an exciting park to watch the next couple of years
For Rivertown they need a boat for the river back at least a old school but new boat
I've been to Dreamworld plenty of times and never knew about the animals back there. I think it used to be a log flume ride back in the day.
The animals have been there for years, the log flume ride was near the giant drop which has now been demolished
im australian and love dreamworld soo much its makes me so sad how dead and sad the park feels sometimes
They used to have a farm for the kids like sheep and stuff even had a show about shaving sheep and a funny moment with the snake in the loo

I don't understand how they had to close ToT and Buzzsaw because of that accident.
ToT was too expensive to maintain and Buzzsaw was pretty unreliable. The latter is doing well at Gumbuya World now at least!
Wet n wild is right next to movie world and is a better water park
