Nice to see you are still around. You feel off my radar. Very cool and informative video. You deserve more subscribers
Thanks. Make sure you hit sub and ring bell if you’re not watching they’ll stop serving videos.
You know, it sucks that we have to keep renewing registration each year, you would think that's enough of a rip off to pay for the roads, but no, they tax gas and also charge extra for EVs.
I wired my own feed to my garage and then I put a new breaker panel and level 2 EVSE in it too but I’ve been doing my own home wiring for decades and I’ve never had a problem and I’ve corrected many wiring mistakes in a few homes I’ve bought too.
I was just trying to find a video like this 👍🏻😊
Great thumbnail. Really caught me interest. 👍
I also have white seats in my Tesla Model Y, but the blue denim from my Jeans is a huge problem. So I now have seat covers, as denim is impossible to get of. How are your seats holding up, and are you even wearing blue jeans ?
Great video and pretty eye opening. I wanted to trade in my paid off Ram and jump to a EV pickup in the future but that seems to be years away for me. It’s crazy how we want to push people to EVs when it’s so expensive to own one.
Good thing I live in CA so cold weather is not a problem and at my work, they have free charging 🔋😅
Didn't Cali have a time where electrical uses were based on what the government allowed?
@@DUICE08 As long as you pay for it, you can use as much as you want
If you are even interested in buying a tesla the first thing you should do is figure out a way to charge it . i had the charger installed before i ordered my tesla . if any of the fees in this video bothers you then you cant afford a tesla Period. all cars have expenses .
I had priced out installing an outlet in my garage for a level 2 outlet. Was quoted $7K to run a new dedicated circuit, install a new box because my garage is detached from my house. Bury the cable and replace my brick pavers, etc. Decided to put everything on hold for awhile to see where Tesla prices go in 6-12 months.
Does it end up being cheaper in the long run than a regular gas SUV?
@@HarveyPVP No, because of insurance.
I’m in Florida so the only big deterrent is the insurance. Clean record but this state is a mess with any type of insurance.
Almost got a tesla. But a few friends have one. None of them are perfect when it comes to the whole car (small things are off, but I guess I am old enough to expect everything to match up perfectly when it comes to cars). I ended up with a hybrid.
Wise Decision
Why does the tires so expensive?
I disagree with many of the things you said in this video. Consumers Energy has a rebate where you can get your at hime charger for basically free. Also, charging at night is way cheaper than buying gas. Also, if you have to use the Superchargers on a daily basis, then buying an EV is not for you.
I want to know if there is a charge for connectivity in the car (Internet access) ? apps? Updates ? Extras ?
From my research it’s 9.99 for the connectivity after a 30 trail. Or you can use your phone’s hotspot but the biggest pro of tesla connect is you can view the car’s cameras front your mobile phone.
Great video and warning for potential EV buyers. Another one for me is depreciation and wildly fluctuating Tesla new car prices (which have somewhat stabilized for now). Caveat Emptor!
Cool video dude tires are a money grab holy moly
Thanks for honest review
$2,300 for tires...no thanks..
Great video
Changing tires is the biggest cost, annual oil change can be 200$ but 2000$ tires every year, well that can be troublesome for some people.
Main reason Im hesitant bc my wife drives her ice suv like a maniac so I’m reslly scared she will rip in tesla and tear up the tires faster🤣
Three years for tires for me
Which
when the battery starts to explode or on fire, you will know how much to pay.
$75-100 per month ?
💯💯
Rather have gas. I can fill up in literally 1 minute. Cold air actually makes the engine perform better.
My gas station pumps 1 gallon every 8 seconds. How are you filling the tank in 1 minute ?
@@DerekDavis213 your gas station sucks.
@@SymbianBlack My sucky gas station is everywhere in America, and fast too.
I would *never* wait in a long line of cars, then charge the car battery for 30 minutes or longer. Do I look like a sap?
EV’s are great. Love my Tesla. However I would not buy electric unless I had a garage and a home charger
If You want to save money due to gas price , opting for Tesla. Then please don't. If You like the car and technology then go for it. I see lot of people have unrealistic expectations. They compare cost of ownership of Camry or a civic and also compare the ride quality with a Mercedes GLE or a Lexus RX.
yes I see some 4 $ here and 10 $ there cost and yes tires are expensive a bit - but dont you realize how much u saving on GAS ? and how much less pollution you are creating especially for very congested cities around the world
I do. But I’m sharing both sides of the coin. 🪙.
If I can spend $24+ to charge ev I ma buy Toyota Prius
It didn’t deter me at all, I was paying $120 every 10 days to fill my TRD Tundra with gas. I’m saving a ridiculous amount of money, all things considered.
Paying for “fuel” isn’t a hidden cost. You really expect to run a vehicle for free 😂?
I call BS on the tires, particularly the foam inserts making them quieter and increased range. The opposite would be the case as the extra weight in the tires would reduce range, not increase it. Like in the past when they use to say fill your tires with Nitrogen as it can improve mileage. Again, fake marketing because the only reason it would improve mileage "in some" cases because some don't keep their air in their tires at correct inflation because the air will reduce in cold weather by a few psi, thus reducing milage, where as Nitrogen is less susceptible to this, thus improving mileage because they don't under inflate in colder weather. Be interesting to see their stats on how they say the foam improves range, guessing the same concept of a more consistent pressure in the tires.
Yeah, he’s the first person I heard mention the $2300 tire thing. I do understand not to put cheap tires on an EV, but I’ve seen people pay maybe $1000 for all four. He does have bigger wheels though, so that might be an issue too.
Not saying there aren’t other options but non foam vs foam I’ve seen and heard the diff from independent study.
EVs and especially Teslas are computer on wheels. They are not DIY repairable cars and that's the biggest problem with these throw away appliances. Once battery goes bad or expensive electronics fail out of warranty, it's going to cost you arms and legs. Meanwhile, Cubans are driving their 60+ year old cars everyday. That is difference between DIY repairable gas cars and expensive disposable cars like Teslas. I have 30 year old car and truck, and because they are DIY repairable, they cost way less than any Tesla to maintain and keep on the road.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Give me some good old organic gas.
Yeah f that. Certainly, the technology isn't good enough today. Maybe in 20 years I'll buy an electric car.
Agreed. In 20 years we'll have self driving cars, and 600 or 800 miles of range on one charge.
My model Y is a joke! poor fit and finish! can't open the car door at times! 240$ per month in insurance cost, I am a perfect second driver too over 30, warning can't just call the dealership if you have issues ! wheels get road rash just by looking at them, tires are poor just look at the face, prices change every month so my value goes down not stable company what a joke, I want my money back Tesla
Everything about Tesla makes me not want a Tesla. The whole ev market is a bout to save the auto industry, Not the planet.
Only 1 percent of cars in America are EV. EV isn't going to save anything. Detroit is doing just fine.
$2300 for freaking for tires .... does that include a spare? The average life of those tires is between 20,000 and 40,000 miles! The cost to charge it ... 37 cents per kwh .... is absolutely insane! I pay 15 cents per kwh on my home electricity and that includes the Oncor delivery charge and I don't own an EV.The cost to replace the battery ... if your lucky that it lasts 5 years is between $10,000 to $20,000. In my opinion ... an EV is nothing but an overpriced clown car .... and you keep getting 🤡 clowned 🤡 with more costs. You couldn't give me one of those POS !
My gas suv on 20s is almost 2k for high end tires.....not everyone drives corollas on.16inch rims with missing hubcaps
Battery is rated for much longer than 5 years lol
my tires have 50,000 mile warranty. was $1,200 for all season, with free tire rotations, patch up’s, or a whole new tire for free if not patchable for the entire length of the tires life. these are also high end tires made specifically for EV’s. and regular cars in my area take tires that are about 1000 dollars so it’s only a little more expensive. i also think it’s deceiving in the video to say the upgraded tire cost (21 inch) and not the regular tire cost.
i charge it with a standard outlet. when you average off peak and on peak for me it’s about 9 cents. say you are gone 10 hours of the day- that means you can charge for roughly 14 hours in a standard outlet that adds 14 kwh which where i live is the equivalent of 4.733 dollars in gas but 1.26 dollars of energy to charge. and that’s with just a regular old outlet. and i don’t even have to go to a gas station. just simply plug it in. it’s more than enough for me.
and teslas are known to go past 300k in miles.
Nice till they explode!
I'm not a fan of battery vehicles or the cost to keep them going.
You will see your mistakes once you Buy & Use a Tesla and then you will realize like I did and am having :
*Specifically when you pay 12K (previous price) to FSD. However, Tesla calls its "driving assistant" feature Autopilot or FSD but says it does not build self-driving vehicles and requires active supervision by the driver. (FSD software still has a lot of stupidity.)
*And the car won't have internet if you don't pay more $9.99/month then all features will be disabled indefinitely:((Live Traffic Visualization, Satellite View Map, Live Camera Sentry mode & Internet browser & ...!! ))
And it's also a lot of trouble every time you wait in line to charge your batter!
