Thank you so much for this in depth overview of the RGB Link MINI EDGE! I actually just picked one up the other day and being completely new to this tech, your video really helped me out. It was a little overwhelming at first TBH. It is definitely going to take some time to get used to using it. I am a little disappointed that I can not load video files onto the machine but I should have figured that out before buying it. Is it possible that could be added down the road with a software update? Either way, I am still very happy with my purchase. It can still do a lot and it seems like it is very high quality. The one other thing that actually sold me on it was the VESA mounting option. Why some of the other brands don't add that into the manufacturing of their video switchers is beyond me. I have a feeling I will be wanting to check out more your videos. Thanks again for your help! :) P.s The T-Bar on my machine is smooth as butter although it probably wont see much use.
I’m so glad I could help and thank you for watching. It is definitely an overwhelming device with a LOT going on. If you take the time to practice, it would be so tough going to a different device as they would seem very incapable. I’m not sure about the video files as a firmware update, it’s so odd as the mini mx (I think) has video playback. Technically not a deal breaker as if you wanted to use 4 cameras, you could get a capture card for the USB C and run an iPad in as a video source / hdmi. Really glad to know your t bar is smooth, maybe I was just super unlucky, I was wondering as I can’t see a $799 that’s so capable not have a smooth t bar lol Really happy for you and I hope you learn a lot, soon you’ll be giving me tips 😉
This mixer looks awesome..!! Congrats on the review! I saw that it doesn't have 4K HDMI outputs, but on HD or SSD it records in 4K in what format? Thanks!
It is quite something to see how popular NDI is, I for one have no real interest in NDI. But that would push the pricing up again, the wish list never ends 😂
I must say, I even have the Rode Caster Video, I still dont use its ISO recording. With Lumix cameras I prefer to just hit record on each camera, less processing power for the mixer, also, with Lumix I can record 4k and send 1080p over the HDMI out...so its like recording your final mix in 1080 but ISO in 4K if anything goes wrong.
