As someone who has been a blackmagic user and lover, this is my new favorite thing 😍 I’m definitely going to have to look into getting one of these instead
Hi, can I ask you some questions about this switcher please? 1. What's the resolution of the UVC output from this switcher, is it 4K or just 1080p? 2. Can I stream to youtube directly from this switcher in 4K? If it can do, what's the max frame rate is it 30 or 60 fps? 3. Is the HDMI output supports 4K or just 1080p? I really appreciated if you can answer my question, thank you..
Hey Ged, here are the key differences between the two. Hope this helps. Thanks. 1. The Mini MX has a touchscreen, but the Mini Edge only works with buttons. 2. The Mini MX can play media from a USB drive, while the Mini Edge can’t. However, the Mini Edge can connect a USB camera as a fifth video input. The Mini Edge supports 8 audio channels, and the Mini MX supports 10. 3. The buttons on the Mini Edge can be customized for quick functions. Overall, the Mini MX is better for complex, professional content production, while the Mini Edge is easier for beginners.
@@Cooper-RGBlink thanks, that’s a big help. Is it possible to have a second phantom power input added to the mini edge as it looks like the space is there for it…
Consider starting with the price at time of publication. $800 on Amazon in case anyone else is wondering. 💭 Looks good. Sticking with ATEM mini pro ISO.
I purchased one from Amazon and returned it within 2 weeks. 3 issues I found. 1st: Colors were muted and super flat color profile. You could have the camera set with a Rec. 709 color profile and it would come out looking like log. 2nd: the T bar glitch when going between transitions. 3rd: camera buttons would stick down. Summery: not worth the money. I really wanted to like it but I ended up getting a Atem mini pro and like it so far.
Can you explain the colors? Did you use pgm out on a stream or on a projector / screen? Doesn't the menu allow for color correction? Is the t bar problem consistent or only whith specific transition? What camera button got stuck? The zoom levler? I was considering this device over the Sprolink R2plus Last option if i have more budget is a Roland v8hd

@@Cooper-RGBlink that was perfectly explained! Simple & concise exactly what I was needing to know. Thank you so much! I am happy to say that I made the correct decision on purchasing the Mini MX. I am a beginner however I am hoping to become more of an advanced user and being able to know that I have room to expand & grow with if I shall need with the purchase of the Mini MX. I greatly appreciate your help & response.
On the Menu of mini-edge from V2.1 version, you will find "Color Management" on the bottom of Menu, after you enter color Management, you will see configuration details.
THat's a great device, but it's 2 HDMI sources only. That's a steep price for a 2-camera setup in my opinion. For a desktop streamer or talking-head kind of show, the Roland is excellent.
That's an interesting take, I hadn't thought about it. I think they put "cut" in line with the "live" buttons because that's more of a "take this direct" kind of transition. I found myself using the t-bar because it was there, even though I'm mostly used to the ATEM auto button. I always had to search for the "auto" or "cut" button on the Edge, so I would just grab the t-bar and move it.
I like it. All in one.I will consider it for our Hall set up. Thanks .blessings
You are so welcome

Same. Blackmagic User for over 12 years. This looks very interesting. In particular for mobile operation, quick but not so dirty setup on the fly.
Wow Ryan, looks great!
It does! And they are improving it with firmware updates.
Great review, I wasn't even sure what the capabilities of this switcher were.
Thanks! Glad you found it helpful.
I don’t need to use ubs to live stream with this? I mean, can i live stream to Instagram or UA-cam without the need of a computer ?

Nice switcher - makes sense to me... Cheers 😎
Thank you for the review. What is the main difference between this unit and the mini mx which is quite a bit more expensive?

Wondering whether there's a way to to make it work with an Intercom System, such as Mars T1000...
Who is the manufacturer of this unit? I'm looking for it and cant find it. Beautiful unit.
Nice & Thanks :)
wow. this thing is amazing.
How to control the camera in that
Do you have a link for someone to learn
Where does PTZ control come in? Is the communication done via the HDMI of cameras?
It’s over the network via VISCA
QUESTION: Can it record 4 lines of 4k footage?
Consider starting with the price at time of publication.
$800 on Amazon in case anyone else is wondering. 💭
Looks good. Sticking with ATEM mini pro ISO.
Does the audio section have delay for syncing up audio to video?
Yes, it does. Range: 0~300ms, increase or reduce by 10ms steps.
Does it record in 4K 30FPS?
How would it be used for PTZ cameras with an NDI setup?
No NDI support at this time. I reckon they could add that in a future firmware update, but for now it's strictly VISCA control.

I don't have colour grading menu in my mini edge
On the Menu of mini-edge from V2.1 version, you will find "Color Management" on the bottom of Menu, after you enter color Management, you will see configuration details.
Does it have upstream key or downstream key
I think it's just upstream.
Yes, upstream. You can use another device TAO 1mini to do upstream or downstream. Or use TAO 1mini to downstream as one signal source for mini-edge
This or the Roland SR-20HD, which I could grab for 100 Euros more at the moment?
THat's a great device, but it's 2 HDMI sources only. That's a steep price for a 2-camera setup in my opinion. For a desktop streamer or talking-head kind of show, the Roland is excellent.
Wish the Cut and Auto were reversed. But maybe it's just me. Otherwise looks nice.
